《Goblin's Glory》Chapter 18 Dragon In The Room

Madame Celeste was silent for what seemed like an eternity as she processed what Lady Estra had just said. She blinked a few times as she left her trance, looking at her student in shock. Dink was distracted by her exquisite nude form. He had stopped paying attention to their conversation as he fought against his primal instincts to overpower and take the dark Elven woman standing on display in front of him. He could feel Murkuk struggling with the same predicament as him through their bond. Although his emotion was mixed with resentment at his lack of ability to remedy the situation.
Did they forget that there are two Goblins in the room with them? This is the first time I’ve ever had to deal with a woman so utterly unconcerned with being naked across both of my lives. Ugh, curse this Goblin body. I’m not going to let my instincts win. I didn’t become the Sword Saint by lacking self-control, that was my father’s vice.
Dink was trembling as he battled against the impulse to fulfil his dark desires. His face was contorted into a feral snarl, baring his pointed teeth. Lady Estra only became aware of the Goblins' turmoil as Dink started to growl. The Elven women looked at him in confusion, until they noticed his gaze fixated on Madame Celeste’s perky breasts. She hurriedly covered them with an arm while backing behind the partition.
“Excuse my rudeness. I forgot that it’s improper to deal with guests while undressed. It’s part of the trade, men are easier to lead when distracted by their loins. Give me a moment,” Madame Celeste said in embarrassment.
“Indeed, that is certainly a distraction,” Dink growled through clenched teeth.
Madame Celeste walked out from behind the partition wearing a silken robe. She fastened it securely closed with a belt, crossing her arms tightly in front of her chest. Dink suspected that it was the thickest garment she owned.

“Estra says that you have a draconic bloodline?” Madame Celeste asked. She continued the topic from earlier. This time including Dink after learning of his bloodline.
“Apparently so,” Dink replied vaguely, he was regaining control of his chaotic urges now that she was covered.
“I think it’s a pure bloodline from a true dragon. It’s not from a bastard draconic subspecies like with Royal House Hydra. As you know, their bloodline is more pure than any others known. The closest to it is the lineage of the dark Elven high-priestess that receives it during a ritual for their inauguration. I once saw a wyvern in person, its dragon fear was minuscule compared to the one Dink released when we formed our contract,” Lady Estra informed her mentor.
“You formed a contract with a Goblin that has a draconic bloodline? Are you insane!” Madame Celeste exclaimed, covering her face with her hands.
She let out a deep, audible breath as she removed her hands from her face with a defeated expression. She shook her head in bewilderment while remaining silent.
“I didn’t know that he had a bloodline, let alone a draconic one. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have dreamed of forming a contract. Everyone knows that dragon species hold the largest amount of mana. That’s why no one has attempted to even form a beast contract with anything greater than a bastard subspecies,” Lady Estra tried to explain, Dink could feel her shame through their bond. He smirked in satisfaction.
“There’s nothing that can be done about it now. A contract can only be dissolved by death, and if you haven’t noticed. I’m hard to kill,” Dink gloated.
“There’s no other option. I had thought about doing this earlier when I rushed here after learning you had completed your apprenticeship. I will be coming out of retirement and taking management of the House of Worldly Delight here in Chiset. You will have my bodyguard, Axion the Headhunter accompany you on your quest. He will ensure that the gob… Dink doesn’t take advantage of you. Dink, if you return her alive and intact, I will personally give you a night that you will never forget. There have been wars fought for an hour with me over the centuries. That’s how I became acknowledged as one of the legendary courtesans. Aside from me, there’s only one legendary courtesan still alive. Despite her best efforts, she’s only Human and her age is beginning to show through her enchantments. You will never encounter an opportunity like this in your lifetime,” Madame Celeste stated.

Madame Celeste watched his reaction closely, searching for any sign of refusal. Dink smiled at her confidently before responding. He understood that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity too well, so had extra conditions to add of his own.
“Before I accept, I have a few more terms to add. Not only do I get a night with you, but I also gain VIP membership to the House of Worldly Delight. That means full access to all of its services. I will have unrestricted access to the main building and can enter through the front door,” Dink began.
“Done…” Madame Celeste was about to continue until she was interrupted by Dink raising a hand.
“That’s not all. I want privileged access to the girls here. If they refuse me for being a Goblin, I expect them to be punished as they would be for refusing any VIP,” Dink finished his demands.
“That one’s not so easy. Goblins aren’t exactly known for their restraint. You also have an undesirable trait of impregnating any woman of any species with your offspring,” Mistress Celeste replied.
“Then there’s no deal. If you can’t even give me that, then what good is it? Before you start thinking of getting rid of me. Realize that I have a draconic bloodline and it responds to mana. No one here is good enough to fight me in close combat, except maybe your Attuned lion man. That’s only after factoring in that I’m not able to use attunement myself. But if enough mana is gathered, it may just wake the sleeping dragon in me. I’m interested in seeing what happens after that,” Dink replied with a smirk.
“Very well, I accept. If they refuse, they will be punished as they would be for any VIP,” Madame Celeste relented with a heavy sigh after brief consideration.

Balancing of the world
Just as humanity reached the height of its power, it fell again. Mana was introduced into a previously balanced world, sending everything present into chaos. Humanity losing its technological advantages, fell back to the dark ages, back to when survival was all but guaranteed. Mana though useful for enhancing the body isn’t unlimited, and humanity fell behind fast. From experiments, a being of mana, born into this chaotic world. The first of its kind. Rather than thriving in a world to which it belongs, it has to model the world so it will suit its needs. As a lone being, it has to use its power over mana to influence beasts and humans alike to abide by its will and further its goals. It will manipulate intelligent lifeforms to do its bidding while believing that they are becoming stronger. It will help lower lifeforms and guide their lives until they fit into the world as envisioned by our being. Read how our protagonist starts in a small area, changing it to suit its needs, and then grows until the world is balanced and at peace again. This is my first story, and I don’t have an editor yet. My English should be good enough, but I expect to have to go back and do editing later on. I would classify this story as litRPG. There will be a type of system with blue boxes and all, though the perspective is the system itself and how it came to be and why it does what it does. As a single mighty being, there will be dungeon core influences such as expanding the area and influencing all within though there is no such thing as an actual dungeon. As humanity is trying to survive, there will also be some city/base building influences, and I will have some perspective changes to show how the forces are being perceived by the affected people. As I have a busy job, it will be hard to update consistently, but I am quite a bit ahead of what I have currently uploaded.
