Hoshikawa gasped, looking at how Kuroyuki could still sustain the damage dealt by Kazuki. His regeneration worked hard until Kazuki pulled out his sword and kicked him forward. Kuroyuki's blood and dark goo evaporated from his still hot blade.
"I never thought that I would meet the real Itsuka, you just made my plan more complicated," Kazuki stated, as the rain fell more strongly. Steam could be seen around Kazuki as his blade evaporated the rainfall around him.
Kuroyuki healed his chest, with blood still dripping from his skin. He looked around, and other warriors started to gather around the area. Some of them offered Hoshikawa to evacuate back to the base, but he refused.
Feeling increasingly desperate, Kuroyuki glanced at his right hand. He was trying to charge it again and transform, but not all of his fingers lit up. Because of the last damage, his body was already at its limit. But he thought of something else.
----
"If you're badly injured, don't bother to transform. You'll die," said Yusuke a few weeks after Kuroyuki confronted Kazuki and Hoshikawa for the first time. Him and Kuroyuki were looking at other buildings from the darkness' hideout, it was a tall skyscraper right at the heart of the city.
Kuroyuki then asked him to elaborate what 'badly injured' means, Yusuke then turned around and answered, "That point if your regeneration didn't work. Kazuki is a light element user, a direct opposite to you. Which means his attacks are more effective to you. Be careful with him,"
Yusuke then also explained one of the indicators of Kuroyuki's limit was the lights on his right hand fingers when he's about to transform, "If not all of them light up, don't attempt to transform. You still remember your mission, right?" Yusuke’s eyes glowed bright purplish.

Kuroyuki nodded while swallowing his own spit.
----
Back to Kuroyuki in the present, "I won't give up. I'll stop you and your plan... and I'll spread the truth about Kyuuto that you've been hiding," Hoshikawa gasped upon hearing this, while Kuroyuki looked at his fingers again, determined to transform.
Despite his evil plan, Kazuki still needs Kyuuto to win the war. He didn't reply to Kuroyuki's boldness. He once again heated up his sword, making the already thick steam of rain around him even thicker. This was actually bad for him, as his vision was impaired by his own power.
Kuroyuki then took a deep breath, maximizing his dark power. He even absorbed every hunter's darkness he controlled to push the limit of his own body. Kuroyuki then raised his right arm, then slashed his own chest painfully.
Kazuki closed his eyes for a moment, preparing for lightning to strike. But nothing of the sort happened. Instead, every hunter in the area fell down, losing their consciousness while their darkness slowly flowed through the air towards their master.
As the darkness entered Kuroyuki's body, he transformed gradually from within. From his chest, sprouted dark vines, then bound him throughout. In a moment, his entire body was encased in dark armor, sharp, and able to regenerate. But at the cost of Kuroyuki's own body.
As Kazuki opened his eyes, Kuroyuki punched him violently until he flew into the buildings behind him, destroying it as if it was nothing. He then approached him slowly enhancing his fists with darkness. He thought of his miserable life throughout the years, the bad luck he's been living. But with his determination, he could end it all with glory.
----
"The hunters... what happened?" Rin was surprised as she observed the hunters around her fell down seemingly with no reason. Although the demons were still fighting fiercely.

Yamato also noticed the dramatic end of the hunters, while he defended himself against Hikiri's slashes, a demon divided them and told the situation with Kuroyuki. After hearing it, Yamato sheathed his sword, and ordered the demon to fall back amidst the cold heavy rain.
"Our fight ends here, for now," he said, as he jumped roofs to retreat into the heart of the city.
Hikiri then looked at Kyuuto and others, they then hastily looked for their last teammate.
----
It was difficult for Kuroyuki to see through the vapor from Kazuki's hot blade. But then suddenly a ray of light emerged through, it was so fast that Kuroyuki didn't manage to dodge in time. It was Kazuki's blazing zodiac sword, pierced through Kuroyuki's left shoulder. Further limited his ability to regenerate.
Kazuki meanwhile holds another sword from a fallen warrior near the building he destroyed. He turned that sword into the light element one and controlled it. Even though his right leg was injured, and unable to heal, he stood strongly. He grinned ominously.
Kuroyuki then held the sword on its handle. Turning it into his own element, then pulled it out of his skin. "Your story ends now, Kazuki..." the two prepared to clash for the last time, while Hoshikawa and the newly arrived Kyuuto's team watched in horror of what's about to happen.
The two then marched towards each other, the power of light and darkness. Kuroyuki managed to stab Kazuki dead on his chest, while Kazuki hit a little lower on Kuroyuki's abdomen. Their sword went through their bodies, full of their opposite element.
"I--- never thought this would be the end of my journey---" Kazuki breathed heavily, gasping for air. He looked up at his teammates, too horrified and confused to help, then he turned to his opponent, "you Itsukas are too proud of yourselves-- someone has to stop it---"
"It wouldn't be you---" Kuroyuki whispered. His darkness was greater than Kazuki's light. His power enhanced by Yamisuke dwarfed Kazuki's natural element. "we are the real heroes, Kazuki--- the element does not determine the user---"
Gradually, Kazuki's consciousness waned. He then fell forward with his last breath. Hoshikawa then ran towards them, as the rain began to slow down. Kuroyuki on the other hand, unable to control Kazuki's second sword, took some steps back, and fell on his back. Forcing the sword to reverse. The sword was then pulled away by Hoshikawa.
"Come, brother--" Kuroyuki's armor slowly faded, his hands and legs were full of scars and blood. From the use of his black armor. Kuroyuki then held his brother's head, then did a memory projection for the last time to complete his mission.

~A Wattys and Fiction Award winner*A lion does not need an invitation from a lamb. That is not the way of the predator. Predators take what they want, when they want it, however they please. Why would any creator make their pupil inept of withstanding the lighted world when this planet is covered in daylight for half of its life span? No, our Maker did not instill such restrictions for, up here on these earthly lands, we are the gods of prey. ~ Tristan There is only one rule vampires must follow--Bite Hard. It is forbidden for humans to know vampires exist so you can imagine Tristan Darkos's surprise when he finds one that knows what he is. He can tell by the tremble of her body, the thump-thump of her pulse, and her dilated pupils. He's going to have to finish what some other vampire started. The problem is when Tristan gets close to this human his blood turns to fire and the thirst that burns in his throat that should spell her doom twists until he's consumed by another need--one that is evocative, primitive, and...wrong.If Tristan doesn't figure out the mystery that is Kinley Shea Rylan, it is certain whatever dark force her honey blood is summoning forth will be the end of him and, possibly, the end of the world as we know it. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Author note: - This is an original work with my take on Vampires.
