Chapter 1348: Garden of Myriad Flowers ⑩
After the painting was finished, we returned from the atelier to the house aboveground and were chatting again over a cup of tea that Rosemary-san had brewed for us, when I suddenly remembered something.
[By the way, Rosemary-san, you did musicals at the Harmonic Symphony, didn’t you?]
[Unnn.]
[You sang very well, so I guess you’re also good at music?]
[I’m not sure if you can really say I’m good or not, but for us Spirits, singing is an act of harmonizing with nature. Most of the Spirits usually like to sing.]
Come to think of it, someone had mentioned something like this before. That in fact, music is so closely related to the Spirits that they hold a large-scale music festival, which is the Harmonic Symphony.
Lillywood-san herself is an outstanding singer, and the other members of the Seven Princesses were also amazing.
[Do you play any instruments?]
[I don’t play instruments that much, but I can play the violin a bit.]
[Heehhh…… Do you also habitually sing, Rosemary-san?]
[Unnn. I often sing in the flower garden.]
That would be quite a picturesque scene. Her, singing in the Garden of Myriad Flowers…… Arehh?
[Is there a spot over there where you can sing in?]
[Unnn. The garden is quite vast, so there are some open areas. If you want, should we check it out?]
[I guess so. I have only seen the flower garden around the entrance, so I’m somewhat interested. Is that spot quite large?]
[I think it’s about the size of a small town.]
In that case, the garden is pretty vast. Considering that she said “town” and not “village”, the areas I had seen in the flower garden so far must really be a very small part of the flower garden.

Perhaps the number of flowers is so great that it exceeds tens of thousands. Perhaps, even the variety itself had reached those numbers.
Getting up from our seats, I talked to Rosemary-san as we walked out of her home.
[However, isn’t it hard to manage a place as vast as this?]
[It’s not that difficult. It’s easy if you use magic, and since I’m a Spirit, I could clearly tell the conditions of flowers, so I know how to take care of them and what they need.]
[I see.]
[As for watering them, I can control this space, so I can send rain to designated areas or adjust the temperature in certain areas when needed.]
Now that she mentioned it, Rosemary-san is one of the Six Kings’ executives, and one of the most influential people in the Demon Realm. It wouldn’t be surprising if she can easily do most things.
Speaking of which, Alice mentioned before how when someone reaches Peak Count-rank, they would be at a level that would make people feel like they’re omnipotent beings by human standards.
[Come to think of it, there’s also that spot where the Sanctuary’s flowers that Kaito-kun gave me before are planted, so why don’t we go there too?]
[Ahh, that would be nice. I’d also like to see it.]
[……Also, ummm…… I hope it doesn’t bother Kaito-kun, but I’d be happy if you could tell me about the flower garden in the Sanctuary again. At that time back in the White God Festival, I wasn’t able to calmly listen to it after all.]
[Of course, it’s alright. After you asked me that time, I took a closer look at the flowers there. It seems that Shiro-san had added new flowers recently.]
[Eh? Is that so? I’d like to hear it.]

I was asked a lot of questions during the White God Festival, but it seemed that that wasn’t enough for Rosemary-san, as she badgered me with more questions about the flower garden in the Sanctuary.
Of course, I didn’t really have any reason to refuse to answer her. Thanks to the many questions that Rosemary-san asked me back then, after I visited Shiro-san’s place later, I paid more attention to the various things around, so I think the range of questions I can answer has expanded.
While smiling at Rosemary-san, who was happily listening to my story, I went on as long as I could remember about the flower garden in the Sanctuary.
As we continued chatting while walking, I saw a circular lawn area in the flower garden a little further ahead.
[Ahh, Kaito-kun. That’s where I often sing.]
[Ohh, that’s great. It really feels like we are right in the middle of the flower garden, and no matter which direction you look, you’re overwhelmed by the beautiful flowers.]
[I guess I’m kind of proud of the view from here too……]
Since we’re here, we decided to take in the view here for a bit, so I took out a leisure sheet from my magic box and laid it out before sitting down.
Thereupon, we resumed the conversation I had with Rosemary-san earlier while looking at the flower garden…… but somehow, it felt like the distance between us was very close.
[……I see. There’s such a flower huh. The flower garden in the Sanctuary really is marvelous. You mentioned how it had different areas, but what’s it like?]
[Errr, let’s see. Right after I was teleported by Shiro-san, the first area I came to……]
Rosemary-san is sitting next to me, but we’re so close that our shoulders are touching each other. I mean, I’ve thought of this earlier, but Rosemary-san sometimes suddenly brings herself too close.
I was wondering why this is, when it occurred to me. I see, Rosemary-san is usually afflicted with her extreme fear of strangers, and with her voice so soft, she has to get very close to someone to talk to them, and speak close to their ear.
And so, when she talks to someone she feels comfortable with, I guess she probably tries to talk close to them out of habit?
I see, that solves the mystery…… That solves it but…… Her face really is just too close! For Rosemary-san, who is exceptionally beautiful and brimming with smiles today, to be this close…… my heart couldn’t help beating very fast.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

The carnomancer
Jackson was but a normal american just looking to get by in life. unfortunately for him life had other plans as a terrorist bombing took place in the air port in london where he was getting off at. The resulting explosion killed him instantly, and now he has been reincarnated into the world of Rokna. In this new world of magic, monsters, and conflict join him under his new identity Adimir freelancer the adventurer half-elf as he seeks a way to live out an exciting life of researching new and creative ways of combining magic and science. But with a tyrannical empire beginning to prepare for a bloody war the signs of turmoil begin to loom on the horizon. Adimir will face numerous challenges. Both challenges to those native to this world, and against other people have come from earth. Author's comment: I'll be uprfont with you on the entire war thing that the description hints at. Yes it will eventually happen, and many of the strange and out of place things in the beginning will tie into that. Not that it will be explained until much later in the novel. In fact the first 100 or 200 chapters will be spent on the main character growing stronger as an adventurer before the entire war even begins to start rearing its ugly head. So for those eager for the war to kick off sorry, but there won't be a big explosive war so early. At least not with the empire (although if you read carefully you may be able to pick up signs of how close the war is with what happens in the story). But the wait (I hope) will be worth it as it will be diving into some of the stuff a otherworlder in a significant position of power could do with the right knowledge. With that little warning over with I hope you enjoy this novel of mine. Its my first actual attempt at writing a story for people to read so please keep that in mind. If you have any criticism please tell me. I'd love to read them and will be using them to help me in improving my writing quality as time goes on. Experience is the best teacher after all.
