《World Of Swords》26 : Training Ground

Looking at her now somewhat destroyed training ground, Xu Yue couldn't help but want to berate her past self. Her near indestructible training ground had been completely frozen.
"The coldness has completely destroyed it," said Xu Yue, looking at the now cracked wall of the facility.
Still, Xu Yue was quite impressed. Nothing she had ever done before had even dented the walls of the training ground.
"I should ask my master to fix it," thought Xu Yue, a moment before exiting her cave abode.
"Master," said Xu Yue, looking at her master's residence.
A moment later, a human sized hole formed on the barrier separating, the cave abode from the outside.
Looking at the secure barrier made Xu Yue a little bit angry when she remembered she didn't have the access token to her own cave abode.
One of the tokens was 'seized for safe keeping' by her senior sister, while the other is in her master's hands.
"What is it, Yue'er?" asked Feng Shuchun. Most of the time, Xu Yue did not ask for much.
"Will you help me fix my training ground, master?" Xu Yue said, a smile appearing on her face as she said this.
Feng Shuchun pondered for a bit, then realized.
"The formation of the Dao Heart can cause quite a bit of damage," thought Feng Shuchun.
A moment later, Feng Shuchun was walking out of her cave abode, followed by Xu Yue.
Feng Shuchun liked walking quite a bit more than flying or teleporting. For her, it felt so much more relaxing.
So when things are not that urgent, she mostly walks from place to place.
The cave abodes of the master and disciple are quite close by. The two of them reached Xu Yue's cave abode in what seemed like a moment.

It took just a moment for the master and disciple to enter the cave abode and go to the training ground.
Looking at the walls of the training ground that had several large cracks made Feng Shuchuns mood become much better.
"The power of the Profound Ice soul," mumbled Feng Shuchun, feeling quite surprised while looking at the cracks.
Hearing this, Xu Yue raised her head a little bit higher.
"Even if she has the Profound Ice soul, it shouldn't be able to cause so much damage," though Feng Shuchun.
"The 9 Yin Physique may have had an effect on the strength of the Profound Ice Soul."
Feng Shuchun then silently compared what happened here to the effect of Liang Xiaoling's Profound Water Soul.
"It is at least ten to twenty percent more powerful," concluded Feng Shuchun.
A moment later, Feng Shuchun waved her left hand and the training ground started healing at a fast pace.
After the training ground had been completely repaired, Feng Shuchun pondered for a moment.
She then gritted her teeth and took what seemed like a normal rock out of her Spatial Ring.
After exiting the spatial ring, the rock started dispersing into nothingness.
"Quite good," said Feng Shuchun after touching the walls. She had just used a piece of Heaven Rank earth essence to reinforce the entirety of the cave abode.
"Master, was that earth essence?" Xu Yue asked Xu Yue, feeling quite surprised.
Essences are formed in places with extremely high spiritual energy concentration and after an extremely long period of time.
The value of a piece of spiritual essence is extremely exorbitant, and most cultivators can not obtain a single piece of it even if they search their entire life for it.
"Yes," responded Feng Shuchun.

After hearing this, Xu Yue started looking through her spatial bag. After around a minute of searching, she took out a gourd.
"You can have this as repayment for that earth essence master," said Xu Yue.
Looking at the gourd full of Earth Rank water essence, Feng Shuchun felt like she should bow to the wealth of this rich Prodigal Daughter.
But so, she still shamelessly took the gourd and put it in her spatial ring, while Heaven Rank, that earth essence, was almost entirely useless to her as a water cultivator.
This Earth Ranked water essence was infinitely more useful.
While she did have a tiny amount of Heaven Rank Water essence, the amount was so small that she couldn't bear to use it.
A while ago, she even gave some of it to Liang Xiaoling as a gift for reaching Minor Trancendance.
Remembering the sight of Xu Yue looking through her spatial bag for an entire minute, Feng Shuchun couldn't help but wonder if she was poorer than her disciple.
When she thought of this, Feng Shuchun couldn't help but ponder this question.
"Now that the training ground has been repaired, let me guide your cultivation properly," said Feng Shuchun with a righteous look on her face.
"Master, I will begin to show you my progress in the Origin Sword Style," said Xu Yue.
"We have already done this many times, but as this is a special occasion, I will personally spar with you," said Feng Shuchun.
"Yes, master," responded Xu Yue monotonously as her face became as white as a piece of paper.
Looking at Xu Yue, Feng Shuchun was not so easily tricked. She could sense that Xu Yue's body was in perfect condition.
Thirty minutes later,
A half-dead Xu Yue was on the ground with a pill in her hands.
Looking at the familiar pill in her hand, Xu Yue could swear that this was the exact pill her senior sister had given her.
She then took the pill. After taking the pill, Xu Yue easily recovered from all her injuries. Even so, by the look on her face, you would think she was even more injured.
Feng Shuchun's heart softened looking at the miserable Xu Yue, she couldn't bear to continue anymore.
"Something important just happened. We need to cut your training short for the time being," said Feng Shuchun before disappearing.
Looking at where Feng Shuchun stood, Xu Yue knew that her master couldn't bear to train her anymore. Knowing this, her heart warmed.
Feng Shuchun then appeared outside of Liang Xiaoling's cave abode.
"Ling Ling," said Feng Shuchun relatively lightly.
After a moment, a hole appeared in the barrier surrounding the cave abode.
Flying inside, Feng Shuchun almost tumbled out of the air.
Looking at Liang Xiaoling and Wu Jing standing in the cave abode, Feng Shuchun felt like she shouldn't have come here.

Draugr Cell //Layer 01-- Investiture:
With the end of the only war to ever reach mainland Australia I found myself living out of a small room in an old military compound that had been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The end of the war, unfortunately, didn't mean the end of hostilities. The terrorism trend that had started back in the early 2000's with the attack on the world trade center over in America, had spread to just about every country on the face of the planet. Over time the constant threat from various groups meant the civilian police force was quickly undermanned, under equipped, and overwhelmed. They were simply unable to respond to the daily threats in any reasonable time frame, and in many situations lacked the both the skills and equipment required to deal with the threats to put them down in a 'safe' and expedient manner. Veterans of the war that were being reintegrated into society however, were just about everywhere, all the time. We have the training and the skills required to deal with just about any threat you care to mention, all we needed was access to the equipment to do so. In a world first, under the new Veterans program, the Australian government had taken the rather controversial step of allowing specifically selected veterans to go armed in public. Sure, with Australian weapons laws being very, very strict there were a number of hurdles to get over first, but that's where the selection part comes in. Tangentially that's actually how I met Brianna, my current partner. We work as ringers in Victory City, I thought being thrown into imptomtu combat operations and risking my life on a daily basis for barely livable wages was excitement enough. Then I met her... it... I don't know. An AI unlike anything else out there has wedged itself into my life and decided it needs to... look after me. What could possibly go wrong? **** This is the first book I have released, and my first entry into a cyberpunk universe. There is minimal drug use, a fair amount of sex, a bit of gory violence, and a sultry AI that has decided the main character needs a harem.

Within their Vales, behind thick stone walls and under powerful domes of magic, they were protected from the onslaught upon the earth. The Elves watched for thousands upon thousands of turns as the war raged overhead. The Fell Ice against the Sun and the White Magic were locked in a struggle lasting for an age, with neither side claiming victory as the earth was ravaged. In time the Fell Ice retreated, as it had so many times in the past. Beaten, yet not defeated, only biding it's time for the next attack. It returned to its frozen Kingdom at the Top of the World, thus ending this last Age of Ice. This time, as the earth warmed around them, the Elves remained secluded from the world in their hidden Vales. Empress' Evolution
The bright red light of the flames swallowed her vision but soon that red light transformed into a blue hue and she was dragged into that light. ‘What’s happening?’ It was too bright and she was forced to close her eyes, she was blinded — even though she was already dead. After being pulled into the light she began to feel annoyed as her skin was irritated by some kind of rough sand. By the time she opened her eyes. She could see the full view of the sky. It was blue and there were clouds scattered about. ‘Ugh, is this Hell?’ She stated as she rubbed her head with her fluffy and furry ‘hand’. ‘Furry?’ She looked at her ‘hands’ and her mouth opened wide. Her hands had become soft and fluffy paws of a white-furred beast with purple spots. ‘What the hell?’ She touched her face with her paws and confirmed that it too did not belong to a human. Below, she felt something was moving, she can tell as if it was another limb connected to her. ‘Don’t tell me!’ Turning her head around, she found a seven-inch tail sticking out behind. ‘Phew!’ She felt relieved that it wasn’t what she thought it was. “These soft and paws, this cuddly fluffy hair, this cute tail — ah shit, did I become a beast after my death or have I been dreaming of being human as a beast all this time? If it is the latter that is one long and realistic dream.” === [It’s the former, stupid *] === Said a woman’s voice from in her head. === As always thank you for reading, also the image in the cover is not mine, I found it on Pinterest and thought it was cool and suitable. All credits got to the illustrator. Also, this is a new type of story that I have not read about yet. Basically I am writing an evolution novel without prior knowledge so I don't really know what is considered cliche in this genre.
