"Are you serious right now?" She stared at me with disapproval.

"I have never been more serious about anything in my entire life."

"She will reject you again." April's words pierced deeper than she could ever know. But I'd rather Elisabeth reject me twice with her own lips than for me to assume she would do it again.

"What's gotten into you? I thought you accepted the aftermath of everything."

"I gave up too soon."

April laughed bitterly, "Or maybe she was already In love with another man."

I dragged out my suitcase and began roughly packing my clothes. April stood there in disbelief and I honestly couldn't care. I appeared a fool, but that wasn't in my concerns. I have to make this right. And perhaps my right ways are wrong, but they make sense to me.

"What has that woman ever given you James? Aside from frustration, confusion and hurt. Why must you torment yourself like this for her?"

She gave me her whole heart in the expense of my denial and I took that for granted.

"Because Elisabeth is worth it."

"Worth it?" April exhaled. "Is she really worth it or are you just obsessed? What makes her so special? Perhaps she only seems special because your mind makes her so."

I walked to my safe, entered the password and took out my passports and credit cards. "I have to do this."

"You are making the worst mistake of your life. Trust me James, this won't end well. This has already hurt you more than enough."

"And I deserve it."

"That's bullshit and stop saying that." She uttered. "What could you have done that was so terrible?"

"You wouldn't understand." I threw the passports, visa and credit cards into the suitcase.

"Why so suddenly? What has bolted you out of that previous mindset? We were doing fine......" April walked closer to me.

"We weren't doing fine and you know that. You have been drugging yourself and I've been tolerating heartbreak."

She huffed in exhaustion. Her hands fell on her face as she bent her head low. Her voice was tired and slow as she spoke again, "This won't end well and I can already see it. Why won't you just listen to me?" She repeated.

"Because for once in my life I'm actually following my heart."

April looked up at me.

"I'm in love with her." I said those words for the very first time out loud and Fuck!.... I wished Elisabeth was the first person to hear me say it. I never admitted it to myself, and it was so refreshing freely accepting the fact that I love Elisabeth. She has my whole heart and if I don't get her back, I'm doomed.

"You are really pushing through with this then?"

"If I don't try once again then she will never know how I truly feel about her. Elisabeth will spend the rest of her life thinking that I was never In love with her."

April seemed confused, "You never told her?"

"That might have actually been the biggest mistake of my life. And I hope I'm not too late."

She remained silent for a while before speaking again. "Things are getting way too complicated. Enos waited for years to love Elisabeth. He won't let her go so easily now that she is finally his own."

I hated the idea of Enos and my Elisabeth being together. Long were the nights I dreaded myself thinking about all the things they did together as the lights went low. My never needy, beautiful woman was now in another man's arms.

That truly tortured me.

Hell on earth.

"I'm not changing my mind." I nailed.

"I know." She accepted with a sad expression on her face

"Go pack your things." I instructed her, "You are still under my care and I won't be leaving you behind."

Her eyes widen, "You really have gone mad!!!!"

"We aren't discussing this further. You are coming to Georgia with me or its the rehabilitation center."

April knew her options were limited. She had no other choice but to come with me. "How are you even sure that Betty is in Georgia?"

"I have my ways." I confirmed. "We leave tonight."
