《A Fungal Dream》Chapter 69. King VS Father

King's POV :
The thing that rose up from the ground was hideous beyond words.
A mass of green flesh formed into the shape of a lich, that continuously pulsed, making a wet squeaking sound.
The thing opened his mouth revealing no teeth, but instead, countless arms emerged from it, all long, bony, and vicious looking.
"Allow me to show you the beauty of this factory."
He snapped his fingers as the thing started to scream in a high-pitched voice.
Accompanied by a rumbling noise, the mass of green mold from the battlefield started to move toward them, crushing the remaining stone knights.
Once the mass reached the worm it pilled up at its end, seemingly seeping into its flesh.
With the sound of regurgitation, the worm faced the ground as it started to drop something on the floor.
It was a two-meter-tall, giant soldier, with chitin-like armor and arms ending in a sword-like blade.
"Kill her!"
At Darwin's command, the knight started to run toward the king.
"This is stupid."
Expecting something... greater the king lifted his hand.
"Earth Magic: Soil Blades."
Right under the feet of the beast, several blades made from compressed earth shoot out, slicing it like an onion.
"To ea-"
BOOM!
Before he could finish, an explosion blew him off his feet.
As his ears rang, he locked up, seeing more of those monsters going in its direction, the slug monster continuously vomiting out more and more of them.
Through the ringing ear, he could hear the words of the father.
"Impressive, isn't it? A combination of different molds, working perfectly together."
On the top of the monster, the father laughs, like a madman.
Angered, the king slowly got up on his feet, slightly bleeding.
"I am going to kill you!"
As the king screamed, the ground around him started to shake violently, as the crude forms of knights formed around it.
"Then come! King of the fallen kingdom!"
*****
I wasn't a good person.
That much I knew about myself. It might have been different once when I was a human, but now, in this body, in this world, I wasn't. I knew that as much as I wanted to be human, I was a monster. As much as I tried to act and speak like a human, the impulses of this body were still there, guiding me.
This is why I dissected people.
I told to myself that it was because of curiosity and for the sake of the future, but there was another reason.
I enjoy tearing people apart. I enjoy seeing them suffer. I love seeing their insides.
And that scared me.
I wanted to be human no matter what but, I didn't want to be that sort of person. The one who smiles over gore, as it plays with the bloodied bits of its victim.
Yet now I had no choice.

This time I had to let go.
For the first time, I had a reason to let go.
I had kids now. I have an obligation to protect them. Even if I have to turn into something didn't want to be, I now had an obligation to do it.
I step aside, allowing the monster to take control for a moment.
Immediately, I feel a boom of power washes over me, as the organic armor reformed around my body.
The lower part dissolved and fused with the rest of my body, giving me enough material to work with.
In an instant, I became something even more monstrous.
A humanoid towering three meters tall, with canine-like legs and arms so long, they quickly reached the ground, ending in sharp claws.
My head was replaced by the head of the voice, filled with razor-sharp teeth, dripping with black saliva.
At this point, I couldn't tell where my body ended, and the armor began. I felt completely fused with the mold, but I also felt something.
I felt GOOD.
"I AM THE VOICE!"
With a roar, I jumped toward the king, my giant hands wide open.
In response, the king snapped its fingers, making several spears shout out around me.
"I AM THE VOICE!"
Screaming, I broke through the spears as if they were made from porcelain.
"I AM THE VOICE!"
I slammed my hands at where she was, making a small crater.
"Not bad!"
I looked up, noticing him floating in the air, standing on a floating rock.
As I screamed, the monsters I created started to gather into, one giant form.
"I AM THE VOICE OF THE PAST!"
As the giant thing, was slamming down its fist, the body of the king, erupted into a blinding purple light, pushing me and the construct away.
Now floating in the air, with purple energy enveloping its body, the king came flying towards me.
"AAAAAAAA!"
"I AM THE VOICE!"
With a roar, we clashed our attacks, mutually destroying our left arms.
The king flew past me, some stones coming to him, reforming the stone prosthetic he had, while I instinctively commanded the giant mold thing, to my wound.
"THE VOICE!"
With these words, I anchored my legs to the ground and lifted a big chunk of the mold connected to my body, which quickly formed into a giant battle ax.
"DARWIN!"
Screaming, the king flew in my direction, and the ground around him shattered and formed into stone weapons.
As we screamed at each other, our weapons collided, creating a giant explosion that pushed us away from each other.
As I flew, I saw the giant slug, and I smiled.
Its mine. I can use it. I can DESTROY it.
"THE VOICE!"
I change my position in midair, and when my feet touch the ground, I dash toward the slug.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Around me, sounds of explosions could be heard as stone weapons crashed around me.
"THE VOICE!"
At my shout, the body of the worm exploded, and its body parts flew right at me, surrounding my body, morphing into a 6-meter-tall replicate of me, with thongs of flames burning up, from the shoulders and mouth.
With the state I was currently in, this body felt like it belonged to me entirely.
With an earth-shattering roar, I stepped forward and slammed my fist where I believed the king was.
"AAAAAAAAAAA!"
As my fist touches the ground, something hard pushed out from there, pushing my blow away.
With a tremor, a giant made from stone rose up from the rubble, its heart shining in a purple light.
Roaring in rage, I jump at the construct, biting its neck.
As I was attacked, I could feel something on my left arm.
Shifting my attention to that area, I saw the king climbing up.
"AAAAAAAA!"
Screaming, I made several bone fragments shout out from my arm.
"Graviton- PUSH!"
With this shout, a wave of purple energy shouts from his body, pushing the shards back into my body.
Enraged, I made several arms grow to grab him, but instead, the giant grabbed my neck and started to choke me.
"WAIT...YOUR TURN!"
"VOICE!"
I lifted the giant thing up and slammed him down repeatedly, smashing it into rubble.
"MAY THE TRUE GOD WITNESS ME!"
While I was busy with the giant, the king climbed up on the top of my head, the book shining brightly in its hand.
"BASTARD!"
Quickly I grew several spears of bones out of my head, empaling him in several places, but he still continued the spell.
"GRAVITY RUSH!"
WHAAAM!
With a giant push of energy, the giant body and everything in a mile radius was ripped apart, before being slammed to the ground.
The attack slammed me back into control as I screamed in pain.
My lower body and right arm were completely gone, with my chest ripped open. If not for the pain I would have looked into it, seeing my heart for the first time.
"You...fucker..."
As I reach out to the sky, I start to hear the voice of someone in the back of my mind. It was a woman, speaking in a language that I never heard before, yet I could understand it perfectly.
It was offering me life.
"I...accept."
The second these words left my lips; I felt a change.
Without any warning, my point of view shifted.
I was back in the form I was when I was on that spaceship, my destroyed body lying motionless before my feet.
Suddenly, it moved.
Swarms of flies flew out from the pieces of the factory, enveloping my entire body.
Slowly from the buzzing pile of insects, something rose up.
It was a knight clad in pitch-black armor, with green markings running through it. The head of the armor was one of the most disturbing things I ever saw. It looked like my face when I turned into that fly cloud thing painted black, but my lips were gone, showing my teeth, with two, bulging sacks at each side of my head, resembling the eyes of a fly. The hole in my head was shining in a green light, brighter than I ever saw it.
The creature snapped its finger making my staff fly up in its hand.
On contact, the weapon started to shift with a sound that reminded me of rusted metal breaking.
When the noise ended, the staff took on a shape I never saw before. it became a pitch-black spear, with a magical orb floating in the middle of a hole where the rod ends and a black blade was connected.
As the knight took a step forward, the white wings sprouted out from its back, With the feathers quickly turning black, and falling off. Once there was no longer any feather, instead of the bird's wings, now wear two pairs of insectoid wings, somehow reminding me of a fly.
The monster opened its ugly mouth, as black smoke escaped out from it, and spoke in a voice, which was a mixture of mine and that of a woman.
"Mold Embodiment complete."
*****
Under the earth, so deep that I could have been the center of the planet, a gigantic eye opened. It was red, like magma with an iris so dark it could have been a hole.
With a booming voice, the eye spoke.
"He's here."

And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.
