"Our universe grants every soul a twin -- a reflection of themselves -- the kindred spirit -- And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other -- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love."

Hawks literally forced you to go to the convenience store the next day for backchatting him, which made no sense because he was the one being a bitch. He wanted you to 'think about your actions' while you bought what was on his list.
You were silently cursing him out as you made your way back, a copious amount of bags in your hands, when you heard a noise from an alleyway you were passing. You paused, looking down into it, trying to make out what you could see in the darkness. You had to really look, only being able to spot a silhouette. It looked like it was wearing a long coat, and it had spiky hair.
You snorted, "Lol, Bakugou. Is that you, bitch? What did I say about brooding in public places? You'll scare people."
You got no reply from the figure, and you were beginning to see something blue glow. Realising that it wasn't, in fact, Bakugou (and that they weren't answering you) adrenaline began to rush through your veins. Whatever in there was a threat.
Your spider-senses were tingling.
Your Peter-tingle was going off.
You were ready to go get 'em, tiger.
Placing down the bags against the wall, you slowly approached, calling out, "Excuse me? Kind gentleperson? Are you alright?"
As you got closer and your eyes adjusted, you were finally able to see some details. Tall frame, dark and spiky hair, some fly-as trench coat. As you got closer and peered around them, you saw that the blue glow was. . .
Blue fire. That shit must be hot.
You quietly formed a bronze sword, still moving forward. You didn't know the danger yet, so making something that didn't require much power from you was the way to go. You didn't go with copper, just in case this dude just SNAPPED that shit. This way you had a better chance at determining their level of threat and seeing if you needed to put more effort in.
Just like with your exams.
You saw their head tilt to look at you, and your heart stopped at the same time as your feet. Not to judge, but dude had scars all over him, and you weren't ready to deal with that.

He said something, and you had to strain your neck to hear him, "'Gentleperson'? Do I not look like a man to you?
'Good one, (Y/N), now you've done it.'
"What's wrong with that? Doesn't make you any less of a man."
You heard him chuckle, and he turned around fully, staring you down. Low-key, you were scared as shit, but you still stood your ground, despite everything in you telling you otherwise. "Is everything okay, sir?"
He stared at you, and you almost thought he wasn't going to say anything until he did, "Nice mark."
'Why are you looking, bro?'
"Nice fire," you replied. "Where'd you get it?"
"Same place you got your sword," he retaliated.
'Touché, bitch.'
"I've heard about you two," he said. Noticing your confused look, he reiterated, "The prophesied soulmates. (L/N) (Y/N), Todoroki Shouto."
"You know, you get real tired of hearing that phrase at some point," you said, keeping your sword in place. You didn't want to let your guard down too much.
He stared at you for another moment before saying, "So what's your deal?" He began to take slow steps toward you, increasing the tension in your body. "You guys gonna save the world from the greatest evil or something? Fight every villain because the pros are incapable?"
"Jokes on you, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing."
He finally stopped, his forehead touching the tip of your sword as he surveyed you, saying lowly, "I can tell."
As you gazed up at him, eyes wide and alert, you noticed his own eyes. They looked awfully familiar.
"(L/N)," a stern voice said from behind you, and you turned to look at them. Hawks stood there, his feather sword out as he glared at the person you were just talking to.
"Sorry," you said. "I bumped into someone. There's no issue though. Not a threat." You pointedly looked back at the guy in front of you. "Right?"
His blue eyes narrowed at you as the corner of his lips twitched up, almost looking at you suspiciously. "Right."
"Is that why you've got a sword in your hand?" Hawks said, moving closer and standing behind you, still glaring at the man.
"It's always good to be prepared." You replied. You saw the guy's smirk widen, probably wondering why you weren't saying anything.
"Yeah," his raspy voice spoke lowly. "No hard feelings."

"Okay, let's go." Hawks said, quickly grabbing your arm and dragging you away. You stumbled, picking up your bags on the way.
You spared one last glance at the guy, right as he said, "See you later, (L/N). Say hi to your soulmate for me."
Your eyes narrowed, further increasing your suspicions of your theory before you were dragged away.
Without warning, Hawks picked you up from under your arms and flew up, causing you to curse loudly for two minutes straight. By the time you were finished, you were flying above the city, some people spotting and gawking at the sight of Hawks.
"When you see someone like that," Hawks said out of nowhere, "you don't stay there and chat with them. You leave and tell an authority figure."
You scoffed, snapping back, "Not sure if you know, but I'm at one of the most elite hero schools to exist, and I've got a QUIRK. On top of that, he was posing no threat."
"I do not care how confident you are in terms of your safety. You're still a kid. You're not an adult. You're still learning. So, for the time being, in order not to kill yourself or others around you, get someone who knows what they're doing."
He flew through a big ass window at his agency building and dropped you on the ground. Stumbling, you were able to keep yourself on your feet. Still, Tokoyami was gentlemanly enough to steady you. You thanked him before spinning back around to glare at Hawks. He noticed, ignoring your gaze and moving to the kitchen area.
"What happened?" Tokoyami asked.
"You classmate was having a nice friendly chat with a villain." Hawks said.
"You don't even know if he was in any danger–" You were cut off.
"I don't care." Hawks said sternly, whipping around and pointing his own sword at you. "You had a gut feeling, one strong enough that you had to take out a sword. You always trust that gut, (L/N). When your gut says something is dangerous, you trust it. You don't let them go!"
"I know that!"
"Then why did you insist that he was posing no danger? You had a sword pointing directly at his head! Did you want me to believe he wasn't dangerous? Why would you just let him go?"
You knew that what you wanted to say wasn't a good enough reason. That when you looked into that man's eyes, you saw Todoroki. You couldn't mistake those eyes.
"I. . ." You trailed off, and he looked at you expectantly. "I don't know."
"Is that what you're going to say to the families whose loved ones have died because a villain killed them?"
You felt frustration build up in you. Even though it was as something as simple as a little mishap, you felt everything else boil over. The pressure of exams. The pressure of trying to figure out how you were going to save the world. The pressure of the fact that you can't feel stressed like a normal aspiring-hero student. You had the knowledge that you had to save the world from ultimate doom in the future, and you had no idea when or how to do it.
So when Hawks asked the question again, more sternly this time, you looked at him. You didn't say anything, just looked at him. The whole room went silent, and you saw Dark Shadow cringe away out of the corner of your eye. Hawks continued to look at you, and vice versa, but nothing happened.
You took a deep, calming breath, slowing your heart rate. You turned around, going to the kitchen counter. Grabbing the key to your hotel room, you picked up your bag from against the wall and started walking away.
"Where do you think you're going now?"
"Home," you said. Before turning the corner, you added, "I haven't learnt much these past few days. I've been taught a few combat moves, learnt nothing in terms of my quirk, and got yelled at for something that didn't even happen. So I think I might head out. Thanks for your time."
"(L/N), it's basically dusk," Tokoyami tried to reason with you, watching as you made your way to the elevator, "you might as well stay until tomorrow."
"I'll be collecting my stuff from my hotel room and taking the soonest train home." You ignored Tokoyami, and Hawks said nothing, the both of them watching as you stepped into the elevator. The last thing you saw of them was Hawks shaking his head incredulously and walking away, and Tokoyami and Dark Shadow frowning as the doors closed on you.
