Steven is sitting on the beach using his phone, while Greg, Y/n and Pearl are seen fixing Greg's Van nearby.
"Are you sure you should be doing that Y/n?" Greg asks as he looks at Y/n laid down on the beach under the van.
"Don't worry Greg, My ribs are back to normal and I got the all clear form Dr Maheswaran." Y/n says sounding relieved. "It's so nice to be useful again." He says from under the van as he tightens a bolt up.
"Well I just hope you are ready for when we resume our sword training." Pearl says happily.
"I already can't wait." Y/n says.
"We've been at this a while buddy, why don't you take a break and get lunch. Don't want to over do it on those ribs you just got fixed." Greg chuckles as he suggests a break to Y/n.
Y/n comes out from under the van now and he wipes the sweat from his forehead. "Lunch is not a bad idea." He says.
As Y/n heads off the beach house Steven finishes what he was doing on his phone and the screen shows a picture of a Sniffling Croissant. "Sniffling Croissant!" Steven smiles. "You really know me, Internet. Hey, guys!" Steven then calls out to Pearl and Greg.
"Yeah, Steven?" Greg says.
"You guys should take this online quiz I found." Steven suggests. "It tells you what..." Pearl walks next to Steven to pick up a wrench. "It tells you what character you are from "Crying Breakfast Friends!"
Pearl looks at Steven confused. "Uh, why?"
"It's just fun to see yourself as a cartoon character, like Weeping Egg Cup, who is neurotic and uptight." Steven says as he looks at Pearl. He then turns to Greg. "Or Pining Grapefruit, the sensitive older one who wishes he were a better role model."
Pearl and Greg just stares uneasy at Steven.
"Uh, maybe we can do that thing after we fix the van." Greg says as he Pearl turn back to the van's open hood.
Steven sighs. "Okay, I'll go find someone else!" Steven says as he runs off towards the beach house now.
Pearl turns to Greg now. "Do you understand that cartoon show?"
"I don't understand anything anymore." Greg admits somberly.
Steven enters the Beach House, panting, and smiles when he sees Y/n who was sat at the kitchen counter eating a sandwich and Amethyst who was browsing the refrigerator and holding a big pile of food items in her arm.
"Hey Steven! Is there any more engine oil?" Amethyst turns to Steven. "I need it for the sandwich."
"That's just for cars Amethyst." Y/n tells her.
"Well..." She kicks the refrigerator door shut. "Is there any more of it?"
"Dad's probably got some outside. Oh! But uh... you guys gotta take this online quiz!" Steven pulls out his phone. "Which Crying Breakfast Friend Are You?"
"That show's really weird." Amethyst says as she sits at the kitchen counter next to Y/n and places her food on top of the counter. "Who wants to watch a cartoon about people crying?"
"I do!" Steven says with watery eyes.
Amethyst rolls her eyes. "Okay, okay! Uh, what's the first question?"
Steven starts to read from his phone. "Do you ever act without thinking?"
"Nope." Amethyst answers as she squeezes a mustard bottle until it explodes, covering the pile of food on mustard. "Never."

Y/n just raises his brow.
"Are you afraid of taking risks and trying new things?" Steven asks next.
Amethyst eats the whole pile of food in one bite, with her mouth full. "Terrified!" She cleans the mustard off her face with her tongue.
"Amethyst, are you taking this seriously?" Steven asks seemingly upset.
Amethyst rolls her eyes and rests her head on her hand. "Of course I am."
"Okay." Steven taps the 'Yes' button his phone's screen, which reads "Are you taking this seriously? "Are you insecure about your relationships and how you are perceived by other people?"
Amethyst starts to look visibly troubled and unsteady. "No... yes? Eh... What's the right answer?"
"I don't think there is a right answer. You're just supposed to answer honestly." Y/n tells her.
"Eh, I'm bored." Amethyst crosses her arms behind her back and get up form the counter. She then walks towards the Temple Gate and activates it, while Steven and a curious Y/n follow her.
"Oh wait, I have loads more probing personal questions to ask." Steven says.
The temple gate opens up to Amethyst's Room, revealing Garnet standing inside.
Amethyst looks upset. "Garnet, wha..." She enters the room with Y/n and Steven. "What are you doing in my room?" The door closes behind them.
"I saw a corrupted gem." Garnet replies and she points upward toward a large gaping hole in the ceiling of the room. "I followed it through the tunnel it dug in the rock."
Amethyst starts looking off doubtfully with arms crossed. "Yeah right."
"Where did it come from?" Y/n asks.
"It's similar to Pearl's description of the creature she saw slinking through the temple." Garnet says.
Steven gasps shocked and excited. "You saw The Slinker!?"
"I thought we agreed there was no Slinker, and we weren't going to call it..." Amethyst uses her fingers to make air quotes "The Slinker."
"Yes we did, but now it's undeniable the creature exists, and that Steven's name stuck." Garnet informs her.
Steven proudly holds up his fist. "Yes!"
Amethyst defensively steps forward now. "Nooo! Look, why don't you just let me look for it?"
"Because you won't." Garnet says bluntly as she walks past Amethyst.
"Sorry Amethyst but she's got you there." Y/n says.
Amethyst, Y/n and Steven hurry after Garnet deeper into the room. Garnet lifts up a hunk of Amethyst's junk pile and reveals another large tunnel.
"How long's this thing been in here?" Steven asks Garnet.
Amethyst excitedly squeals picking up a gas mask and wears it "Ha ha, look, I'm a pachyderm! Oh! And there's a prize inside!" She pulls out a skull from the mask.
"Oh that's just wrong..." Y/n shudders.
A loud hissing noise is heard.
"Sshhhh, keep quiet." Garnet tells them.
Amethyst rolls her eyes and groans while Steven nods obediently. The four then move to another section of the room. Garnet puts the hunk of Amethyst's junk down on the side and continues walking forth.
"Oh Garnet, stern but practical, just like Spilled Milk." Steven say admiring her.
"You're still not on about that dumb cartoon are you?" Amethyst asks looking visibly annoyed.
"Oh right, the quiz!" Steven says remembering and he pulls out his phone and starts walking toward Amethyst. "Do you get defensive when people ask you questions about the feelings you prefer to keep hidden?"
Amethyst eyes widen at the question before she squints her eyes at Steven. "Don't! get all psych-o-logical on me, Steven."

Steven backs up into Y/n in surprise. "Uhhh... sorry?"
Y/n was about to tell Amethyst to calm down when the loud hissing is heard again.
"There!" Garnet quickly tosses away the junk she is holding and takes a large leap forward, firing her gauntlets like rockets in the direction of the hissing. Her rocket gauntlets fly into a pile of junk and explode on contact. Garnet runs to the junk pile, smiling, but quickly frowns in disappointment.
"WHOA MAMA!" Amethyst cries and runs up excitedly to Garnet. "Did ya get it!?"
"No." Garnet says as she holds up her wrists as her gauntlets reappear.
Amethyst looks disappointed, jumps into the junk pile and starts looking around. "Aw man, I think my favorite round thing was in there."
Garnet sighs. "I'll get you a new round thing." She tells Amethyst as she walks off to a different are to look for the Slinker.
"Ugh, this is my stuff you're messing with!" Amethyst complain as she starts throwing and kicking things around. "If it's gonna get wrecked, I'm gonna be the one to wreck it!"
As junk flies though the are some of it lands on a tentacle and it slithers away.
"See, that's how it's d..." Amethyst keeps kicking her junk, when the tentacle emerges from the junk pile and strangles her. Steven and Y/n can only watch in shock as Amethyst gets pulled under and poofed, leaving behind her gem.
"Oh no..." Y/n says worried.
Steven gasps. "Amethyst got poofed!"
"Slinker!" Garnet hears the Slinker slither away as she tries to look around to find it. Steven picks up Amethyst's gem and walks up behind Garnet, looking sad.
Steven whimpers and holds up Amethyst's gem. "Garnet?"
Garnet turns around as she looks at Steven and Y/n who were both looking at Amethyst's gem worried. "Y/n, Steven. Remember, our bodies are only an illusion. Amethyst will be fine."
Steven starts to tear up. "B-b-but Pearl took two whole weeks to come back, and I already miss Amethyst so much!"
Garnet kneels down to Steven now. "Don't worry. She'll be back before you know it."
Amethyst's gem then starts glowing and floats off of Steven's arms into the air.
"Quite literally." Y/n comments as he looks up in surprise.
Steven watches happily as Amethyst quickly reforms in mid-air and drops onto the ground. Steven runs forth to give Amethyst a hug. "Amethyst's back! Amethyst's back!"
"Ugh." Amethyst pushes Steven aside. "Huh?" Amethyst notices her hands are replaced with feet.
"Looks like you... grew a few feet since the last time I saw you, nyuck-nyuck-nyuck!" Steven jokes and nudges Amethyst playfully.
"That was fast Amethyst." Y/n says but he looks at her feet for hands unsure.
"Even for you." Garnet comments less impressed.
"Eh, it's no big deal." Amethyst stands upside-down on her arm-legs. "I didn't wanna keep my biggest fan waiting!"
Steven laughs until Amethyst puts her foot on his head, which he pushes it away looking mildly grossed out, and continues laughing.
"Hmm." Garnet hums.
"Ok ok. We got a Slinker to slink!" Amethyst says and she cartwheels away.
Steven then attempts to cartwheel too, but fails halfway through. Amethyst starts searching a different part of her room.
"Hmm... Where would I go if I were a monster... " Amethyst asks as she walks towards a large hole in the wall. "Hey! Over here!"
Garnet, Y/n and Steven then walk over together to join Amethyst in front the hole and the four enter into the tunnel.
"Your new form is really interesting." Steven says.
"Thanks, Steven." Amethyst says.
"I didn't even know you could come back this different!" Steven told her.
"Thanks, Steven..." Amethyst sys slightly annoyed.
"Sorry...but why'd you come back with four legs?" Y/n asks now.
Amethyst walks ahead, annoyed. "Cause I like walking!"
"Wow... I want four legs too!" Steven says.
"No, you don't!" Garnet tells Steven. "Amethyst rushed her regeneration, she should've taken her time."
Amethyst just rolls her eyes at Garnet's comment.
"Like Pearl did?" Y/n asks.
Amethyst stops walking, offended.
"Yes, Pearl put a bit more... thought into how she came back." Garnet says.
"Pearl! Pearl! Pearl! You know I can hear you!" Amethyst says as he hair moves to reveal an oversized ear. "I'm sorry I'm not like Pearl with her fancy form, and her clean room with no monsters in it!"
The Slinker suddenly crashes through the tunnel, crashing onto of Amethyst and causing her to poof, and it digs away into another hole. Steven, Y/n and Garnet quickly runs up to and look down the hole.
"Amethyst?" Steven calls out worried.
Garnet jumps down holding Y/n and Steven, and they all see Amethyst's gem.
"Amethyst's gem!" Steven runs towards it.
"She got poofed again..." Y/n says.
"This is a good opportunity for her, now she can make a better form." Garnet comments.
Amethyst's gem starts glowing and floating again.
Steven gasps. "She's coming back!"
Garnet covers her shades with her hand. "Hmm."
Amethyst quickly reforms, taking on a form that looks like Pearl with a bigger and longer hairdo and loose socks.
"Yeah right." Amethyst snickers. "This is much better!"
Steven giggles and points. "She's doing Pearl!"
Garnet facepalms and sighs.
The four exit the tunnel, as the Slinker disappears in the background. Garnet walks ahead, and Amethyst, Y/n and Steven quickly catch up.
"Hey Garnet, what do you think of my new look, Garnet?"
Garnet ignores her.
"I'm more like Pearl now! Isn't it wonderful? Ha! I feel..." She mimics Pearl's twirl and hits Steven and Garnet with her hair. "Practically perfect!"
"We need to focus on listening for the creature." Garnet says not giving her a response.
"Oh, but I can't focus, all these rocks are different sizes, we'll have to organize them by shape and color. Didn't anyone tell nature how I want it to look?"
Steven giggles in response.
"Don't encourage her." Garnet says to Steven and she walks off.
"But I need encouragement, Garnet! I need everyone's constant approval, I need to loquaciously converse so I can show off... how smart I am." Amethyst says as she gets annoyed.
"Uh, you can converse with me. Let's finish that quiz!" Steven says taking out his phone again. "Do you need to plan ahead before you act?"
"Oh, thoroughly!" Amethyst replies as if she were Pearl.
"Do you obsess over little details?" Steven asks next.
"Completely entirely!
"Oh wow, you're so method." Steven says impressed. "Next time, can you come back as Y/n?" Steven requests.
"Please don't..." Y/n said.
Garnet pauses and turns to Amethyst. "This is not a good choice for your form."
"Lighten up, Garnet. Can't you take a joke?" Amethyst tells her.
"It's not funny, you made yourself ridiculous." Garnet tells her now.
"RIDICULOUS?!?!" Amethyst says getting mad.
"Keep your voice down; the creature." Garnet tells her.
Amethyst growls. "You wanted me to be more like Pearl, AND NOW I AM!!"
"Pearl would've taken a regeneration seriously!" Garnet intensely whispers.
"WHAT DO YOU CARE? MY FORM IS MY BUSINESS!" Amethyst says.
"It's my business when it affects the strength of the team!" Garnet tells her now.
"So what, I'm not strong enough?" Amethyst asks her.
The Slinker's tentacles suddenly wraps around Amethyst and pulls her away. Garnet, Y/n and Steven quickly chase after.
"Amethyst!" Y/n calls out to her.
"ARE YOU SAYING, I'M WEAK?!" She calls out to Garnet as the Slinker drags Amethyst in and poofs her. Her gem flings out and Steven catches it.
Steven whimpers. "Is it weird I'm getting numb to this?"
"Sadly so am I..." Y/n says as he puts his hand on Steven's shoulder.
Amethyst's gem quickly glows and floats into the air again, attempting to take form. It lands like a quivering light blob on the ground and Steven clings onto Y/n's leg, frightened. Amethyst then regenerates into a bulky-like figure, with only one bulky arm and leg, with unkempt hair.
"Okay, you know I wasn't feeling this at first. But I think I might be... coming around! Ha! Yo Steven, Y/n, my seams straight?" Amethyst asks
But both Steven and Y/n look at her worried.
"Does that new form... hurt you?" Steven asks.
Amethyst looks upset. "No...?" She then turns to Garnet smugly. "Hey, Garnet, how'd you like to mix up with this?" She chuckles. "Just a little something I put together, you know."
Garnet growls. "This form isn't sustainable, Amethyst."
"But..." Amethyst looks down before she shoots a look at Garnet. "You're the one who said I needed to be stronger!"
The hissing is heard again and the four look around. Amethyst pounds her fist on the ground. "Okay, if it's my monster then I'll deal with it!"
Amethyst runs toward a crystal pillar and punches it out of her way, shattering it. Steven and Garnet shield themselves and Y/n from the debris and follow after her.
"Amethyst!" Steven cires.
Steven and Y/n lose sight of Amethyst. Garnet then grabs Y/n and Steven, leaping off in the direction of the hissing, and sets them down.
"Stay behind me!" She tells the two and runs through another tunnel and looks around "Amethyst!"
More debris are flung towards Garnet, who quickly shield herself with her gauntlets. Amethyst can then be seen fighting the Slinker hand-to-hand. She was wrestling with the Slinker, laughing and slamming it against a crystal pillar with her bulk arm. The Slinker tries to retaliate by wrapping its tentacles around Amethyst.
"Let it go!" Garnet told her.
"No! You wanted me to be stronger, I'm doing it! I'm being what you want!" Amethyst says.
"I don't want this!" Garnet tells her now.
Amethyst's bulk arm is unable to be sustained and it deforms. Amethyst struggles to push back the Slinker.
"Well, what do you want? Just tell me and I'll do that!" Amethyst says.
"I can't tell you, Amethyst! You have to figure this out for yourself!
Amethyst grunts in pain.
Y/n thinks back on all of her Amethyst recent choices on her reformings and he comes to a conclusion. "Amethyst! Is it possible that...you don't want to think about yourself!?"
"WHAT?" Amethyst cries. The Slinker eats the distracted Amethyst and poofs her. Garnet leaps in and punches the Slinker, causing it to spit out Amethyst's gem, and Y/n catches it.
"Good catch." Garnet says.
"I just hope she can use this time to reflect on herself for a while." Y/n starts as he looks at Amethyst's gem in his hands. "She's at her best when she's just herself."
Steven, Y/n and Garnet are back in the house. Steven is lying on the couch, holding and staring at Amethyst' gem, while Garnet is talking with Pearl who had returned from the beach.
"I knew that thing was real! When Amethyst gets back we have to go find it!" Pearl says before she walks over to Y/n and Steven. "How long has it been?"
"4 hours..." Steven answers.
"4 hours?!" Pearl says shocked. "She's never taken so long! What do you think she's doing in there?"
Garnet crosses her arms. "I'm not sure, I was too hard on her."
Steven sighs, when Amethyst's gem starts glowing again.
"Oh, oh, she's back!" Amethyst's gem floats off of Steven's hand and starts taking form. "All right, everyone be supportive."
Amethyst's form continues to cycle until it sticks, and Amethyst returns with a new outfit. She lands on the table, yawns and stretches before she notices everyone looking at her.
"What?" She asks a little embarrassed.
"Aw, you barely changed." Steven says slightly disappointed.
"Steven!" Pearl says.
Garnet walks over to Amethyst, and they look at each other briefly.
"It's perfect." Garnet says.
"Eh, whatevs. It's just what feels right." Amethsyt says.
"That's why it's perfect." Y/n tells her now
