Liam POV

Time to pick out a suit to wear to the Winter Formal. I was thinking of a burgundy and light grey color pattern but Mya & Vic thought the royal blue and gold were a lot better.

Vic and Levi have already picked out their outfits. Vic got herself a violet ballgown adorned with rhinestones while Levi settled for a grey suit with a mint green interior shirt. Although I've seen something I like; Mya hasn't found "the one" as per her words.

"Can the both of you hurry?? We're hungry" Vic said to Mya and I.

"You can't rush perfection, my dear friend" Mya expressed.

"Exactly Mya. You guys can go to the food cart we will catch up with y'all there" I suggested to them. They wasted no time heading towards the food.

"Now let's continue our hunt for greatness"

"And they call me the dramatic one," I let out walking behind Mya.

We carried on with our search. After a few more attempts I found a royal blue and gold tuxedo that was perfect. Now all I needed were some shoes. A hot pink ballgown caught Mya's eye for a moment until we got to another store and saw this magnificent pink and baby blue two-tone mermaid gown.

"This is the one," Mya declared as she walked out of the dressing room.

"Finally"

"Now I need shoes and jewelry," She said happily.

"After we get something to eat maybe"

"Let's just do... No, you're right" She stopped speaking halfway because her stomach began to grumble. We walked outside to put our clothes in the car.

On our way to the food cart, we saw many others from our school and pack shopping for their outfits as well. Seems like we aren't the only ones who are late. As we were strolling by the many stores I thought we were being watched. So I began to look around to see if there was anything suspicious. Mya dismissed my paranoia with a joke and told me all of us are just on high alert and everything is just fine.

I got myself chicken alfredo while Mya bought a tuna sub from Subway when the both of us had our food and drinks we headed over to Levi and Vic.

"Did you guys get everything as yet?" Vic asked us the moment we sat down.

"No, I still need a pair of heels and jewelry." Mya tried to speak with the food in her mouth.

"Mya act like a lady for once and eat with your mouth close," I told her receiving a middle finger in return. "All I need are shoes and I'm done" I responded to Vic.

"Remind me to never come shopping with you two ever again" Levi laughed.

"Now you see how I feel. Welcome to the club" Vic chuckled along with him.

"I'm not even that bad but Mya on the other hand is unbearable" I acknowledged to Levi.

"Jealous bitches ganging up on a baddie what's new?"

We were all finished with our lunches and decided to continue shopping. To save some time we split up into twos. Levi came with me while Vic and Mya went the other way together. I was trying on some different pairs of shoes until I looked up and saw a face I haven't seen in months. I froze as the shoe dropped from my hand.

"L... Liam" Levi spoke out to me when he saw my troubled face.

"It's him" I whispered.

"Him who? Liam, who is he?" Levi questioned me looking in the direction I was starting in.

"Alex" I finally said his name.

"The Alex?"

"Yes"

"Let's get you out of here now"

With an uneasy look on his face, he grabbed my hand while calling Mya as we continued to the spot we had separated. In a few minutes, Mya and Vic were in the distance standing with worried faces and some pack members behind them.

"Liam, are you okay?" Mya asked

"What's wrong with him?" Vic questioned Levi as she glance at me.

"He's been like this the moment he saw Alex. I think he's in a state of shock." Levi pointed out.

"I called Ethan he's going to try to meet up with us on the way home. Let's go" Mya let us all know before we began to walk towards the car.

"Not so fast pretty lady" Alex shouted behind us. All of us turned around.

"I came here for my handsome lil pup Liam and I will take him I don't care who gets in my way." Alex started with a smirk on his face.

"Over our dead bodies," a pack member said as the other agreed.

"Then over your dead bodies, it will be. Killing them all" Alex directed his minions.

"Get Liam out of here I will stay and help the others." Levi volunteered while pushing us forward.

"We can't leave you here Levi. It's too many of them." Mya acknowledged anxiously.

"Come with us" I mumbled silently.

"I will be alright okay? Just get him out of here. Love you guys NOW GOOO" he screamed at us as he spread his angel wings and flew over to help the others in the fight.

Mya, Vic, some other pack members, and I ran toward the car. I look back and saw a few underworld creatures trailing behind us. I got in the back while Mya hopped in the driver's seat and started the car. We were waiting for Vic to get in the passenger side until I look outside and saw her standing with the others.

"Vic Rivers get in this damn car NOW" Mya rolled down the window and yelled.

"No, you need to get Liam to Ethan. The others need help and I will not leave my pack to suffer while I can provide the strength they need. So just go Mya."

"Fine just be safe friend," she replied while trying to hold back a tear.

"Will do and please take care of him." Vic voiced with a pleasant tone.

Mya drove off leaving Vic and the pack to fight off the enemy. After 20 minutes of Mya driving like a maniac, we saw Nathan's car approaching us. They both stopped their cars. Dethan climbed into the back seat with me.

"Everything's going to be alright babe. I'm here and Ethan & Nathan is in the car behind us. No one's going to hurt you okay" Dethan vocalized as he held me in his arms but I couldn't help thinking about my friends.

We continued on our way to the pack house. When we arrived everyone was outside awaiting our return. When I got out of the car my family came up to me and hugged me.

"Are you okay Liam?" My mom asked but I shake my head no.

"Come let's take you inside the house hun"

"No I'm not leaving here until Vic and Levi get back" I walked over and sat on the front lawn.

A few seconds later Mya and Dethan sat down next to me in complete silence followed by Nathan & Ethan. After some minutes had passed a car pulled up I thought it was them but it was Aaron, Onika, Kasper, and Tanya. They gathered around us and understood what was happening without being told.

An hour had gone by and everyone was still sitting around waiting with me until cars began to arrive. I stood up looking around for Vic but couldn't find her. I started to get worried. I saw this one girl and guy who were with Levi and Vic when we left.

"Have you seen my friends Levi and Vic" I questioned with a shaky voice. They glimpse at each other as if they had something to say but didn't want to share.

"Well have you seen them or not?" Nathan angrily asked

"Yes, but they are.." the guy began to answer but stopped.

"But they are what?" Ethan glanced at them to finish but I completely understood what was not being said. I gasped out loud.

"No...no...no don't say it" I spoke out as tears began to fall from my eyes.

"I'm sorry" the girl sadly conveyed.

"This is my fault. This is all my fault" I panted.

"It is not your fault Liam" Ethan tried to reassure me but I was hearing nun of it.

"But it is. I am one of the most powerful supernatural beings in the world and I couldn't even save my friends. How do I expect to save the supernatural world from the Underworld. I froze Ethan just because I saw one person I froze. They should be here safe and carefree." I sobbed as my friends embraced me while we all cried.

"You were in shock and they both understood why you were and decided to save you because they knew you would do the same for them if the roles were reversed," Aaron enunciated trying not to break down again but I wasn't as strong right now.

"Liam you need to breathe. Liammm" Dethan tried to tell me but his voice began to become distant and all I could hear was the fast beating of my heart.

I finally let out all of the emotions inside with a ground-shaking scream.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
