"I-I.. I want to live! Please don't kill me! I-I'm sorry for being such a brat earlier! Spa-Spare this queen of light! I-I'll do anything and be anything you want! Just don't kill me now that I'm in this weird body!"
"An-And please don't eat me either! I-I'm not food and I'll taste terrible! Hav-Have you ever tasted light before?! No?! It's tasteless! S-So please don't eat me! I-I'm the most loyal queen of light ever-"
She adorably begged with an adorably terrified expression surprising both the young prince and Kaylan causing both of their hearts to then surprisingly break as well, especially Kaylan's having known who that body was originally intended for.
And now imagining if she had begged like this causing her heart to then helplessly break even more.
All the while the young prince couldn't take it anymore causing him to then immediately hug her with an adorably teary yet guilty expression having not expected this at all.
"I-I'll never hurt o-or eat such a pretty queen of light! I-I love you s-so I-I won't let the best queen of light get hurt! Yo-Your mi-"
The young prince tearily reassured before then quickly being cut off.
"Lo-Lover?"
She surprisingly asked with an adorably curious expression having tried to push her luck and raise her position in a desperate act of 'not' wanting to die and in the hopes of being treated well.
All the while remembering somewhere that mortals both loved and cherished these apparent lovers and hoped it for the same surprising everyone.
Causing the young prince to then immediately freeze having no idea what she meant and only remembered some of his more memorable lessons with Tillie who actually teased him quite a bit.
Causing Kaylan to then surprisingly laugh having never seen such a shameless Elemental of Light before especially since they were supposedly pure and holy beings!
After both the shameless and adorably confusing antics the young prince had since conjured up a black and pale green mint armored dress and boots along with mint green socks and female 'necessities' for 'her' who's name was now Ayla.
After Kaylan suggested it having no need for that nickname since she never used it causing Ayla to surprisingly liked it however, after finally getting comfortable with the young prince she had decided she would also still liked to be called Queen of Light.
Causing the young prince to then immediately agree, unfortunately after Kaylan had taught her a wider vocabulary for 'Lover' she had insisted on calling the young prince her betrothed of all things.
After both even more antics and Ayla finally getting dressed Kaylan had soon continued her lesson before then pulling out another crystal core from the young prince's bag since the last one.. was now a strange child of all things.
"I made sure to pick one that didn't have 'sentience' this time.. unfortunately, I don't have any more spirit constructs left, now drink this potion to regenerate your mana and do it again, this should be a Light Spirit as well-"
Kalyan curiously explained before then immediately being cut off causing Ayla to then adorably snatch it and swallow it whole before then drinking the rest of the young prince's mana potion with an adorably satisfied expression.

Surprising everyone causing both the young prince and Kaylan to look to her with adorably curious expressions causing her to then proudly nod.
"I-It didn't taste good in this body.. an-and you only need one queen of light! You shall have no other queen of light than this queen of light! Ch-Choose something else!"
Ayla adorably warned with an adorably teary yet betrayed expression causing the young prince to then adorably nod before then kissing her cheek causing her to then victoriously smile all the while causing Kayal to frown.
"That elemental light core was comparable to a Highmage.. you owe your 'boyfriend' a new one, no matter we can always try dar-nevermind.. the wind elemental comparable to a Low-Level Archmage?"
"It's not truly sentient and we can toss it into a Celestial Praetorian Guard Puppet I may have 'acquired' through my sister Caelin's extra space rings.. it would no doubt prove beneficial in some way to say the least?"
Kaylan curiously asked causing the young prince to then adorably nod.
After what felt like ten minutes had passed the young prince had 'tamed' the Archmage Wind Elemental and gave it a new body resulting in the Wind Elemental now being named Galen of all things.
After a quick suggestion from Ayla of all elemental 'people'.
Resulting in the now Galen being called Sir Gale out of respect since the majority of Archmages used 'Sir' Honorifics along with knights strangely enough.
Galen's golden armor was already fully enclosed making no one the wiser all the while he was equipped with a Royal Guard Mage Spear that Kaylan had 'acquired' through her sister's space ring once more.
Having apparently stolen it but still adamant enough to refuse to confess such things.
Resulting in the once auxiliary Celestial Praetorian Guard Puppet now wielding a precious weapon from The Royal Armory all the while having both his wind attacks and defenses boosted and gaining a physical boost to its combat prowess as well.
Thanks to the Saint Alchemist who had originally built it for such an immensely powerful organization.
However, thanks to Gale having little to no sentience be it from orders or knowing who's its master it was practically only an improvement on the puppet itself.
After several more lessons involving a handful of Archmage Flame Elementals and tossing them into his Elemental Space Ring.
The lesson had finally concluded and the young prince had once again begun experimenting with magic preferably 'Light' Magic due to Ayla's company.
After what felt like an hour had passed the young prince had soon returned to bed all the while bringing Ayla as well surprising Amber and causing Kaylan to quickly explain Ayla before then also explaining both the walking garden puppet.
And The Celestial Praetorian Guard who was strangely enough not a person and instead a Wind Elemental using it as a body both of which quietly walked the halls living their best lives while undeterred strangely enough.
Causing Amber to then sleepily shake her head before then pulling both the young prince and Ayla into a cuddle.
"No more late-night antics.. I can't have my celestial teddy bear and cuddle buddy getting into any trouble or miss training! Plus it was lonely.. don't be a bully and leave a girl on all her own"

Amber sleepily pouted causing the young prince to then guiltily nod causing Ayla then quickly do the same having sensed she was someone important all the while causing Kaylan to then shake her head.
Before then surprisingly returning to the young prince's bloodline to take advantage of the half-hibernating Katie without her destroying her room.
In the morning both Annie and Molly had finally returned surprising everyone including themselves after wondering why there was both a puppet that looked like a garden and a random royal guard that walked the halls.
Before then finally noticing Ayla surprising Molly even more having taken all this time to recover just to return and be replaced before then being cut off causing Kaylan to quickly appear surprising Molly even more.
"Ayla is from an entirely new race.. A Light Elemental Human Hybrid maybe? No matter, she isn't a threat unless you're considering both her shamelessness and her will to live to be.."
"If anything I believe she's a gullible fool who only barely knows how to use her body-"
Kaylan curiously explained surprising both Annie and Molly before then being cut off.
"H-Hi! I'm Ayla an-and I'm the queen of light.. and Au-Aurel's 'only' Light Elemental! There shall be no other Light Elemental than this Light Elemental! The Queen of Light! An-And Death to Darkness! And yay to living!"
Ayla shamelessly greeted surprising everyone even more causing Annie to then playfully giggle and Molly to then curiously nod having sensed she wasn't a true threat or her replacement after all.
All the while Kaylan couldn't help but frown before then shaking her head.
"Despite both her appearance and her claims, she isn't in fact a Light Elemental King and instead a Lesser Light Elemental Lord.."
"However, now that she was reborn she could quite easily become a Legendary Realm or Elemental 'Lord' easy enough 'with' some of the capabilities that should've only been seen in Elemental Kings"
"Having now access to learn magic like you all do with all the advantages of a True Elemental.."
Kaylan curiously explained surprising both Amber and Annie even more having realized both how broken that was and its implications before then remembering who her master was causing both to then helplessly smile.
All the while Ayla's eyes shined in an infinitely new light before then whispering into the young prince's ear causing him to then hesitantly nod before then pulling out three Low-Level Highmage Ranked Light Elemental Cores.
Having not wanted to waste the last three Archmage cores and the rest causing Ayla to then happily smile before then preparing to swallow them whole before then remembering something.
Causing her to then curiously crack them open and swallow the contents causing her to then happily smile before then munching on the cores themselves making her even more radiate.
Causing everyone to then stare at her with curiously worried expressions.
Especially both Amber and Anie who knew had that been a normal person her actions would have been seen as suicide unless she was fortunate enough to suffer complete mana decay.
And its related diseases having essentially swallowed the life essence of an Elemental Being.
Before then remembering Ayla was entirely new and apparently broken being herself causing Molly to then quickly realize she may still be a clear threat after all.
After Ayla's apparent snack she had happily hugged the young prince until finally it was time for breakfast causing both Molly and the young prince to then surprisingly sit together after such a long time followed by Ayla who sat in the middle.
Still curiously looking to the platters of food on the table and especially to her own plate that both Molly and the young prince had made for her before then curiously poking the cutlet, dumplings, and skewers.
And eventually even the grape juice she had mistaken as essence before then adorably frowning having felt both confused and betrayed.
"Wh-What is this? I-I never had people's sustenance before.. I normally ate Elemental cores, Mana crystals, and the occasional Light Crystal.. bu-but never people food.."
Ayla curiously confessed surprising everyone causing Kaylan to then helplessly put down the rest of her skewer and surprisingly nod before then being cut off herself.
"Hmm.. there has never been a situation like this before so I wouldn't know how to explain it?"
"I've seen several Sacred Elementals who had taken a humanoid form or even appearance, but that's mostly through their own avatars and I don't think they've ever eaten anything?"
Amber curiously asked with an adorably curious expression causing Annie to then playfully nod before then being cut off herself causing Kaylan to then nod as well.
"From what I 'heard' she can in fact do everything a normal human, person, elemental can.. be it eating normal sustenance"
"And everything that can be consumed by a Light Elemental, in truth it's that simple, she can immediately use a light incarnation and everything she used as an Elemental.."
"However, only without restrictions and far more abilities and even potential given to her from her human side and still being able to break down and eat even literal light thanks to her body being a fusion, I suppose?"
"That would of course include learning as I 'previously' mentioned and even getting pregnant if she truly wanted to-"
Kaylan explained once more surprising everyone causing Annie to then immediately break out into laughter having known however never expecting Kaylan to actually say it causing both Amber and Molly to then immediately blush.
All the while both the young prince and Ayla curiously looked to each other with adorably confused expressions causing Ayla to then finally put two and two together before then happily smiling herself.
"Th-The Queen of Light can make babies? Goo-Good to know! I shall make babies with my master one day! Death to darkness! Yay to babies!"
Ayla adorably proclaimed surprising everyone even more causing Annie to fully be consumed by laughter having wondered if Ayla was doing this all on purpose or if she was in fact an amazingly adorable individual.
Who wouldn't even know what they said would produce such laughter causing Molly to then immediately stuff a spicy chicken roll in Ayla's mouth surprising her causing her to then curiously munch on it.

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
