《The Alteras Games: World Jumper Book 2》Chapter 21

Jet wasn't too sure about what to make of Almark and Lily. For starters, why were they coming back in time? Surely it wasn't to help him out at times. It was a worry for another time. Now he wondered what they did to him. He had some bruises left and no cracked bones. The other problem he was having was it was now the middle of the night, and there was no way he would go back to sleep. It would be his luck that he would become a girl again. So for the rest of the night, he would pick up meditation. Because he was sure they wouldn't let him wander around town to stay awake. He decided to go back to his room first after he figured out where his weapons had gone. Not that it was too much of an issue unless they were brought to Lord Joy. World Breaker had been a part of his collection for a while.
'Why don't you summon them or whatever you do?' Alex asked.
'I'll check my room first. Now, what were you going on about earlier? Something about a castle.' Jet asked.
'Yeah, have you not come in here recently?'
'Nope, it has been blocked for a while now. So there is a castle in my personal world now. Maybe that's why my whole body hurts.' Jet thought as he walked, unsure if he was going the right way.
"You there? What are you doing?" A man flashed Jet with a light.
"Ah, good, I'm Ford. Where is my room located?" Jet was completely turned around. Not that he knew where to start.
"Wait, I thought you had a curse and were currently a woman?" The man eyed him skeptically.
"Yes, and when I sleep, I switch. So again, where is my room?" Jet asked again.
"Alright, but that doesn't explain your hair. I thought you had silvery hair." The guy eyed Jet skeptically.
That had taken Jet by surprise. He pulled some hair in front of his eyes, and sure enough, it returned to its amber color. That was not a good thing. What if someone recognizes him? At that thought, the man's eyes went wide. "What's wrong?." Jet tried to act casual.
"You," the man didn't have time to finish. He looked down to find Jet's sword in his chest.
"Sorry, I can't have you reporting back to Joy. I don't need the headache of him chasing me down." Jet needed at least two days before he could use his World Jump. After a long sigh, he went to a window and looked out. He was on the second floor of the building. The dirt below came apart, and Jet tossed the man's body out the window. He hoped nobody was watching him. To be sure, he turned on his magic sense to look around. Then another thought occurred to him, how had Lord Joy found out about his son? Jet teleported to the ground, rummaged through the man's pockets, and found a cell phone, or what he thought was a cell phone. He would burn the device and any other he found on the body.

It took Jet a while to find his room. When he returned, he and Alex split up to see if any hair dye was around. Alex was the winner and found a storage room with all kinds of stuff. 'So what color shall I bring you?'
'Anything will be fine.' Jet answered back while getting stuff ready in the restroom.
'So, bright pink it is.'
'Ok, alright, do they have the same color as I had before?' Jet was not about to dye his hair pink.
'Yeah, here you go.' Alex walked into the bathroom right after Jet had gotten done talking. "So, about those time travelers," Alex asked aloud.
Jet smiled. "It's nice to know Lily had made it out."
"I hope Ileana's still alive then."
That made Jet stop in his tracks. Why had he not asked Lily? They had died in the same explosion, or so he had thought. "Since Lily is alive, then surely Ileana will be."
"Yes, it is a nice thought," Alex said somberly.
Jet picked up the dye to read the bottle. He frowned after a few minutes. "The dye on this world soaks into the hair's roots. It should last a month and stay the same color even as hair grows." He reached back up and touched his longer hair, and a realization hit him. "Almark, he can play with time. So his healing me must be using my time. That bastard has been aging me."
"That, actually, what you said does make sense." Alex wondered if it was affecting her as well.
Jet got ready to dye his hair. "So, about that castle?"
"It makes the island I live on look like a pebble." Alex tried to describe the castle and utterly failed. "Go look at it yourself."
"Might as well. Not like I can go to sleep." Jet finished dying his hair. Before, he was going to try to enter himself. He looked in the room for his weapons, and sure enough, they were on the table. World Breaker's sheath and the wraps he had covered the sword with were also there. "Ok, let's go check out this castle."
It only took Jet a few moments to relax and enter his world. His jaw dropped at the scene before him. It's no wonder she couldn't describe the castle. The place seemed to be changing as it was watched. But there was no doubt it looked like a castle. Now Jet wondered how to enter the place. With a thought, he knew that he couldn't enter. The place was not done with whatever it was doing. "Ok, where do you think the wall ends?"
Alex looked at Jet with eyes that said, how should I know? "So, what do you think is inside?"
"Answers."
"What?" Alex asked.
"The only thing I think this could be is answers. The Alteras Tower asked what I wanted, or something like that." Jet figured whatever the castle did. It was what was causing him to ache all over. Something this big being shoved into him could be a good cause for that.

"Well, I'm going to take a nap."
Jet looked over to Alex. "Seriously?"
"There's not much to do right now. Unless you want to bury that arm of yours?" Alex poked at the bones and magic cores, which seemed to have fewer cracks in them now.
Jet stared at the ground now, wondering if he could dig down deep enough to go through. "We can deal with the bones later."
Alex watched as Jet sat down in the grass. She wasn't sure what he was doing. He didn't move for several minutes before she asked. "What are you doing?"
"Meditating."
"Your not even in a meditating pose." Alex pointed out. Jet was sitting in the grass, leaning back on his arms. "If you sit like that, you're going to cramp up."
Jet let out a huff and got into a more appropriate pose. "Is this better?"
"Cross your legs. I'm sure you're doing this on purpose now." Alex watched as Jet smiled and moved into the right position. "Why are you meditating?"
"It's not like I can go to sleep. I'm not risking becoming a girl again." Jet opened his eyes and looked up at the white sky. "And if I'm going to meditate. I want to do it here. Where I'm not in constant pain, also missing an arm."
"I see." Alex laid down to watch. She knew what he was talking about. Jet's body was riddled with scars, and he almost used constant magic to move around. His skin pulled so tight in places now he couldn't even lean forward and touch his toes.
Jet had no clue how to empty his mind. Thoughts ran rampant while he sat there. Most of them seemed to go toward Amanda. The other was to walk away from his situation. Why was he so dead set on getting to the Alteras Tower? It made no sense to him. Another question now popped into his mind. 'Can I jump to another world that is closer to Earth?' He felt out for other worlds and found several. But he had no idea if any was closer to Earth.
"Geez, you call that meditation? My brain is going to fry from all your thoughts." Alex complained.
"You could get out of my head." Jet retorted.
"You can boot me out any time."
"I hate trying to keep that wall up." Jet complained.
"That's not what I meant. You can rip the part of my soul off yours. Sure, it will kill me." Alex shrugged.
Jet thought really hard on the matter. "Maybe I'll find a way to transfer your soul." He didn't know how, but he looked back at the castle. It may hold the answers. His thoughts went elsewhere when he felt a presence entering his room. When he opened his eyes, he saw Fiona walking in with a worried look on her face. "What's up?"
"There has been a break-in," Fiona said frantically.
Jet frowned and was confused for about a minute until he remembered about the guard he had killed. "Why would anyone break in?"
"Oh, the break-in wasn't here. Two people have broken into the Alteras Tower and stolen something." Fiona explained.
Jet inwardly relaxed. He hadn't gotten caught. "How does someone break into the Tower?"
"You know what, I have no clue. But someone managed to get in and steal something." Fiona also wanted to know how they did the impossible. "It should only open with permission from Lord Joy's family. The Alteras Tower won't just open for anyone."
"So, were the fights canceled?" Jet could care less who broke into the Alteras Tower. After all, he wanted to do the same thing.
"No, lord Joy won't be present. But the games never get canceled." Fiona had a look of pity.
"What's with that look?"
"Ford, the only reason you haven't gotten any special rules is because of Lord Joy. You have piqued his interest. Without him present, the people are going to use them now." Fiona said frantically.
"Well, I'll deal with whatever happens." Jet was curious about the special rules. Too bad for him. He was about to find out how bad things could get.
"Ford's magic is not allowed to be used this round," Gegol screamed over the intercom.
Jet, out of curiosity, tried to make a small earth spike, but nothing happened. "This will be interesting." He looked at the other content in confusion. "Are you a man or woman?" He could not tell.
The man-woman scoffed at Jet. "I'm going to bury you."
Jet ignored Gegol as she continued some kind of rant. His jaw dropped as the other person's weapons floated around them. He or she must be using some telekinesis. Then a bad thought struck him. 'Gegol only mentioned me earlier. How is it possible that only I am affected?' Then he came to another realization, the clothes he was wearing were heavier than before. So he could strip to fix this, but that might give them a reason to kill him on the spot.
"Begin the match," Gegol yelled over the intercom.
Jet immediately reached up for his sword and stopped. Then he looked at the other person and laughed manically. "Give up or die. Hahahaa." He kept on laughing.
Jet's laughter rang throughout the arena. Everyone had gone silent to see what he would do. But to everyone's surprise, he just stood waiting with a smile. "You're a fool. Let's see how good you are with that sword." He, Jet decided it was a he anyways went at Jet. But stopped when Jet pulled out his gun. "A taser, that won't help you."
Jet didn't reply and kept a smirk on his face. Squeezing the trigger, Fate shot out a magic bullet. To his surprise, it didn't explode when it hit the guy. It did leave a gaping hole where his heart should be. When the bullet hit the arena wall, it exploded, leaving debris and cracks all over.
