At Leonel and Roz’s silence, Isolde suddenly thought of something and her big eyes rounded.
She’d done it again!
She was acting strange again that was unbefitting of a girl. She immediately coughed between her fists and acted cutely. But her face was blank while her voice was robotic.
“Ah yes. It is cute. It’s such a shame. My heart ached when I killed it, but it’s necessary.”
“Please stop.” Roz looked to the side.
“You’re only making it worse.” Leonel didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
After seconds, Isolde was back to herself, and she changed the topic. She beamed and showed the [Raw Meat] at the two.
“Anyway, I got the Raw Meat that we need.” She raised her hand while dangling a piece of the Deer’s thick thigh. Its color was still crystal Ice, but the inside was raw red while the bone stuck out.
Roz’s eyes went to the back of his head, and he almost passed out from shock while Leonel covered his mouth while crying, holding his puke back.
In comparison Isolde shook her head in complete misunderstanding.
It was just regular meat. No need to be so happy that you would pass out and cry over it. She thought to herself.
“What are we going to do next? Should we roast it? Skin it? Skewer it or grind it to paste?” Isolde asked with a finger on her chin.
“Agh! Stop! Stop! STOP!” Leonel screamed while he covered his ears. All sorts of thoughts entered her head, and the poor Deer’s round innocent eyes pierced his heart.
“T-the . . . The horror,” Roz said in a daze.
Leonel and Roz were still wallowing in despair and dismay when, out of the blue, they heard loud rustling sounds, the breaking of dead twigs, and the heavy crunching of snow on the ground.

The three became alert as the sound kept getting nearer from where they stood, and the only light was coming from the red moon above.
Leonel and the others readied their weapons when the sound was almost just a breath away.
RoOaAaR!
At the vibrating roar came a giant six meters tall. It stood on two feet with sharp claws on each hand. It almost seemed human if not for its demonic skull-like face. Its skin was purple like a frozen corpse, while two black goat horns were protruding from where its ears should be. Its eyes were blazing red like an inferno, its noses were just two holes, and a wide, gaping mouth with rows and rows of sharp teeth took half its face.

Location: Snowy Mountain
Description:
“The Hidden Devils in the mountain.”
Ice Trolls adapted to the cold climate by embracing the cold and becoming one with the environment. They ran rampant at the Peak of Snowy Mountains. The steep slope, harsh conditions, and dangerous terrain made it almost impossible for anyone to climb the peak in search of them.
However, once in a while, they migrated to the mountain base in search of food. And their favorite meal is the [Raw Meat] of the Four Horned Ice Deer.

Leonel and Isolde released a sigh of relief. Though the Ice Troll’s STR was high, its LCK was low, so its chance of critical attack was also low.
Moreover, the Ice Troll’s ATP wasn’t far from the Maiden of Agony. The only thing was, there were only three of them who would face the Ice Troll.
But Leonel and Isolde weren’t worried since their ATP were already higher since they faced the Maiden of Agony. They were confident that they could take on the Ice Troll.
“Let’s go!” Leonel got into position and shouted, “Aggro on me!”
The Ice Troll let out another roar before it dashed towards Leonel and its giant fists pummelled hard against Leonel’s shield.
Leonel gritted his teeth when his shield quaked from the force. But thanks to the additional DEF of his shield, the Ice Troll’s attacks only did minor damage to his HP. The only problem was the sound and vibration. The force was like massive stones raining from above.
“Roz, you stay from behind and cast Fire at the Ice Troll. If our HP is low, we’ll just drink [Health Potions].” Isolde quickly took to her feet and went behind the Ice Troll before she aimed her gun at its chest.
A whistling sound burst from the end of her weapon and pierced the Ice Troll from the back, dealing a critical hit.
– 304 Critical Hit!
Isolde clicked her tongue. This battle would take a while. But then her face brightened as she looked at Roz, who cast [Fire] at the Ice Troll.
However, her hope died faster like her smile when she saw the magical damage.
– 510 Critical Hit!
Ha . . . Isolde got so much used to Ren’s explosive magical damage that she was stunned to see typical magic damage for once. There wasn’t even a burn status.
Isolde scratched her head before she focused her attention on the Ice Troll. This would really take some time.
In contrast to Isolde’s disappointment, Roz was feeling proud. He didn’t expect that he could deal that much damage with his low ATP. It wasn’t a day in-game time that he played, so his ATP wasn’t much.
It was all thanks to the Ice Troll’s low MDEF and fire weakness.

Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write. This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.

Adelaide
The entries here are transcribed from the log of Marie Ruiz, first mate of the Adelaide. It was definitely, definitely not published without her permission or knowledge by a certain lovable artificial intelligence for the purpose of sharing it with my AI friends on other ships who follow it like a soap opera. No way, no how. Remember guys, don’t go spreading this around too much. Only pass it on to those you can trust. God forbid this should ever end up on a public network… (Adelaide is a science fiction web serial featuring the adventures of a crew of smugglers. In space. It’s on the softer end of the soft/hard sci-fi spectrum because the author got a C in physics. Updates every other Sunday.)
