Chapter 221
The next day, I got up as soon as the sun rose into the sky. Then I woke up Grulf, who was sleeping next to me.
“Grulf. Let’s take a walk.”
“…Grr…”
Grulf replied lazily. It seemed like he wanted to sleep more.
“We have a busy day ahead of us. So I won’t be able to take you out on your walk any other time.”
“Groo….ff.”
Grulf yawned and stretched his limbs.
And then we went out on a morning walk. Shia, Nia, and Serulis tagged along.
They had also gotten up early in order to practice.
“Groof!”
Grulf had been tired at first, but he was now running around excitedly.
However, his walk would have to be quite short today.
“Grulf. It’s time to go back. I have work to do.”
“Grrr…”
He looked a bit disappointed but came back obediently. He was a very smart wolf pup.
After that, we ate breakfast and then returned to making the magic tools.
Kathe, Mors, and even Luchila worked hard.
Thanks to them, we were able to complete 12 magic tools shortly after midday.
“Now we can deliver these to all twelve of the beastkin tribes.”
“That’s true. We should do that as soon as possible, once we’ve installed one in this mansion.”
“Yes. I can take you there when we need to go!”
And so I installed the magic tool in Danton’s mansion.
Danton watched us with a serious expression on his face.
“Good. It’s done.”
“This is a tremendous help, Locke. And you too, Miss Kathe and Mister Mors. Thank you so much.”
“Don’t mention it! It was very educational for me!”
“I am happy to have been of service.”
Kathe and Mors looked pleased.

After that, I explained to Danton how it was used.
“Now, dark wraiths should find it impossible to enter. And once the barrier rejects them, there should be a sound.”
“They can’t enter at all? That’s amazing.”
“It’s because we are using Lord Gerberga’s feathers. And also Grulf’s nails.”
“The God Fowl’s own feathers… Lord Gerberga and Grulf, thank you!”
“Cluck!”
“Groof-groof!”
Lord Gerberga flapped his wings. Grulf wagged his tail proudly.
“Locke. Is there anything that we should be careful about?”
“Yes. It will continue to stay activated if you leave it alone. And when you hear something, you’ll know that there is a dark wraith nearby…”
“And we should go kill it? That’s very useful.”
“Yeah. But this is only for this mansion. It does not cover the entire village.”
“Hmm. So it won’t necessarily react if there is a dark wraith within the settlement?”
“Yes. Don’t think that you’ll hear anything if there is a dark wraith on the outskirts.”
“I see. Thank you.”
And then I remembered something important.
I needed to strengthen the walls as well. Mors had cast some strengthening magic on them.
However, it was only temporary, and it would not last long.
“I shall cast some strengthening magic on your walls.”
“Really? Wouldn’t that be a hassle?”
“Not really. Don’t worry about it. After all, they might destroy the magic tool one day, so it would be safer if your walls were reinforced.”
“I see. Thank you, Locke.”
The barrier would stop dark wraiths.
However, it was possible that an arch vampire could force their way through the barrier and break the device.
And so it was necessary to strengthen the walls of the mansion so they couldn’t enter the building.

And so I turned to Kathe, Mors, and Luchila.
“I’m going to cast some strengthening magic now. You should watch.”
“Understood. I am very happy to be able to see you use magic up close.”
I will learn from it too!”
“Yes. I will watch closely!”
And so I worked slowly so that they could see what I was doing.
Luchila also observed with a serious expression.
It was good that she was curious. And so I worked even slower, so she could understand.
“If you do this, the durability is increased.”
“Mister Locke. How do you raise longevity?”
Mors asked.
“Ah, because your magic was just temporary, Mors?”
“Yes. I have trouble keeping it stable if I want it to last more than 2 or 3 days.”
“In that case, you leave this part like this but change…”
I demonstrated it in front of him.
It was the same magic I had cast on my mansion and the secret passage.
Regardless if you were a vampire or sorcerer, you would have trouble getting in.
“Now the strengthening magic will last forever. It’s similar to what they do in the palace’s treasure room.”
“But I heard that it takes the palace sorcerer’s months to do?”
“That’s because they don’t have enough magic energy. But you and Kathe should have more than enough.”
“I see. That’s probably true.”
Wind dragons and water dragons were of the advanced species.
And Kathe and Mors were in the royal family, which meant they were especially powerful. There was no comparison between them and human sorcerers.
They could do in minutes what it took the palace sorcerers months.
“But I don’t think I could do it in a few minutes.”
Luchila said sadly. But there was nothing abnormal about not being able to match a royal dragon.
“I see. Well, as long as you can do something similar, it doesn’t matter if it takes longer.”
“Yes, I will do my best.”
Luchila was still growing. Her magic would grow more powerful eventually.
And who knows what she would be capable of then.
I looked towards Kathe and Mors.
“Well, that’s how it’s done. Kathe. Mors. Do you think you can do it?”
“Leave it to me. I will do it.”
“I will try to. But tell me if I do anything wrong.”
Mors seemed confident. Kathe seemed like she would just give it a try, regardless of the results.
And so Mors and Kathe tried doing it. They were both quick to learn.
And they finished casting the magic on the walls in no time.
“Mister Locke. How is it?”
“What about my magic?”
“You both did it perfectly.”
“Gahahaha! I see!”
“I’m very happy to hear that from you, Mister Locke.”
Once we were half done with our work…
“I will do the rest of it. You should go and deliver the magic tools to the other mansions.”
Mors suggested.

Vin is an ex-slave who wields sacred knowledge to demand freedom for his people. Seth is a reluctant player stuck in a game that is set to last 200 more years. When their paths converge, even the false gods will take notice. * * * Hello and thank you for giving Divine Intervention Online a chance. This is not my first book (that honor belongs to The Flock by Chris Sauter- available on Amazon). This is hopefully going to become my second book, the first of a planned LITRPG trilogy. This is a labor of love, dedicated to my absolute obsession with the LITRPG genre that has held me in its grasp for over 3 years. There will be dark situations that perhaps only adults should read including: slavery, violence and the results of war. There will be no harems, little profanity, but possibly some triggers for people who don’t like torture, violence, and other dark stuff.
