Chapter 571: Challenge
Liu Ming and Zang Xuan weren’t that close, but they once teamed up to battle before, so they were by no mean not unfamiliar.
After having a few more conversations, Zang Xuan also left.
Liu Ming stood still, pondering for a moment, and he also flew back to the market.
…
Half a month later, Senior Fellow Apprentice Su, who was originally in charge of the Bai Lian Pavilion, returned from his family early. After Liu Ming handed over everything to him immediately, he went to the Bat Clan Shop again and exchanged the cold condensing pills on him for one batch of green condensing fruit. He then set off to return to the Taiqing Sect.
Ten days later, when Liu Ming walked out of a teleportation stone temple in the Thousands Spirit Mountain Range, he looked at the familiar scenery in front of him, and he left with a slight smile.
Not long after, he went to Xuan Hall first to submit the mission, then he flew to the Life and Death Pavilion and handed over the head of Yin Yang Strong Demon.
Although his head had restored his youthful face, the deputy of the Life and Death Pavilion used some kind of mystic arts to transform the head back to the yin yang face.
After confirming the authenticity of the head, the deputy naturally showed a surprised expression and gave a reward of 300,000 contribution points on the spot.
…
“Brother Liu, it’s been a long time!”
As soon as Liu Ming Fang returned to the sky near the Piaohong Courtyard, he was about to return to the mountain where his cave house was, but he happened to meet someone flying in front of him.
It was Yan Ming.
“It turned out to be Brother Yan, why didn’t I see Sister Xue Yun?” “Liu Ming stopped naturally and said lightly.
“Sister Xue is now cultivating in her cave house. I heard that for the past year or so, Brother Liu has been performing tasks outside, you didn’t even participate in the minor competition.” Yan Ming said with a blush on his face.
“I have some important tasks to deal, so it couldn’t be helped.” Liu Ming replied with a smile after hearing this.
He had been staying at the Changyang Market for more than half a year. After counting the time, the minor competition had indeed just ended not long ago.
“By the way, Brother Liu may not know that your cave house has a thick spirit, and it was originally one of the rewards of the minor competition. It was rewarded to Fellow Apprentice Luo Geng who ranked 5th in the minor competition.” Yan Ming changed the thread of discussion.
Liu Ming was startled when he heard the words. When he first joined the sect, the disciple who led him to choose cave house did say this.
Although he now had various spiritual pills to assist in his cultivation, this cave house spirit was still very useful to him. He of course wouldn’t give up like this.

Liu Ming immediately asked about the matter with a darkened face, then he cupped his fist and flew away.
Yan Ming looked at the back of Liu Ming who was going away, but he showed a thoughtful look on the spot, and he murmured in the end,
“I haven’t seen him in such a short time, but the aura of this Junior Fellow Apprentice Liu has become more and more unfathomable. That Luo Geng is also a powerful character, who is better among them?”
After saying this, Yan Ming left.
…
When Liu Ming appeared in front of his cave house, the stone gate was closed shut, but the enchantment above did not open.
Liu Ming had lived in this cave house for a few years, so he was familiar with everything about this place. After looking around, he knew someone was inside.
“Knock knock…”
Liu Ming immediately knocked on the stone door with a slight flick of his finger.
Not long after, the stone door opened from the inside, and a young man with a bronze skin came out from it. He glanced at Liu Ming and asked with a frown.
“Who are you? What’s the matter?”
He was obviously disturbed and very dissatisfied.
“I’m Liu Ming, you should have heard my name.” Liu Ming said calmly.
“Oh, it’s you, the guy who originally occupied this cave house!” Luo Geng was startled at first, but his eyes narrowed as he reacted; his tone suddenly became extremely cold.
“Since the senior fellow apprentice knows who I am, you should have guessed why I’m here. I have been staying in this place for several years and I have used to it. Can senior return the cave house to me? In return, I’m willing to pay 300,000 spirit stones as compensation.” Liu Ming asked faintly.
“Hmph, 300,000 spirit stone is a great fortune for the Condensation Period cultivator. It’s enough for a nice spiritual weapon, but I don’t lack spirit stones and I’m satisfied with this cave house. I don’t intend to let it out.” Luo Geng’s face sank when he heard the words, and he refused without hesitation.
“How about 500,000 spirit stones?” Liu Ming’s expression remained unchanged.
“Hmph, Junior Fellow Apprentice Liu is really wealthy, but I advise you to find another cave house as soon as possible, so that you will have a place to stay tonight.” Luo Geng sneered, then he turned and walked back.
“If this is the case, I have no other way, but to meet Senior Fellow Apprentice Luo in the martial arts practice field.” Liu Ming raised his brows and said.
“What did you say!” Luo Geng heard the words, stopped, and turned around. His gaze instantly became very gloomy.
“According to the rules of the outer disciple, every disciple who did not participate in the minor competition because of sect affairs has the right to challenge the original top ten disciples within half a year. If he wins, he will get the reward instead. Unfortunately, my condition is just applicable to this rule, so I want to challenge Senior Fellow Apprentice Luo. If I win, the cave house here will naturally belong to me. “Liu Ming’s tone also turned cold.

Although the person in front of him also was also at the Condensation Period later stage, he had gone through the ups and downs in the Changyang Market. At this moment, facing the cultivator of the same realm, he naturally wouldn’t waste his words.
“Hehe, it seems that my name Luo Geng is not famous enough in the courtyard. A little guy who has just joined a few years ago also dares to challenge me. Very good, I accept the challenge.” Luo Geng sneered a few times and agreed to it.
He hadn’t really heard of Liu Ming’s name before. It was said that he had a little reputation, but he was more confident in his own strength.
Hearing the words, Liu Ming nodded, and he immediately flew toward the Piaohong Courtyard in a black cloud.
Luo Geng’s figure shook, turning into a white light ball and followed him.
A quarter of an hour later, both of them appeared in a martial arts practice field near the Piaohong Courtyard Hall.
This martial arts practice field was a hundred acres in size, and it was full of dozens of large and small fighting arenas which were usually used when the outer disciples practiced with each other.
On the four corners of the ring stands four ancient stone pillars, and the surface was carved with various runes.
It was midday, and there were many Piaohong Courtyard disciples here.
Not long after, Liu Ming and Liu Ming stood on a ring facing each other under the supervision of a Crystallization Period deputy who had already been waiting here.
People around quickly discovered the situation here and gathered around.
“Hey, isn’t that person Senior Fellow Apprentice Luo Geng who got rank 5 in the minor competition?”
“Is Senior Fellow Apprentice Luo going to fight someone here? Who is the opponent?”
“I haven’t seen that disciple in green clothes. Is he a newcomer? But he actually dares to challenge Senior Fellow Apprentice Luo, he is quite brave.”
In just a few moments, hundreds of Piaohong Courtyard disciples had surrounded the ring. Some even rushed from a far upon receiving the news. They were all looking at Liu Ming.
Luo Geng was also considered a little famous in the Piaohong Courtyard. Since Liu Ming had only participated in the Small Flame World trial once, these juniors were naturally unfamiliar to him. They all looked curious.
“Disciple Liu Ming was out due to the sect mission, so he couldn’t participate in this minor competition. Here, he challenges the rank 5th Luo Geng. The winner will get the reward of the minor competition.” The Crystallization Period deputy was a man with a long beard in his forty. He flashed above the ring and announced the reason for this duel.
As soon as this remark came out, the onlookers suddenly discussed in an uproar. Many people pointed at Liu Ming, and there were also people looking at Luo Geng with weird gaze.
Luo Geng seemed to feel it, and his face became ugly.
“Although you should all know the rules, I still want to repeat it here. This challenge is not a life-and-death duel. Anyone who admits defeat or gets knocked out of the ring is the loser. No one can kill anyone. Those who violate the rules will be punished. Also, if I determine that the result of the match is sealed, I will stop it forcibly.” The man with a long beard looked at the two on the ring and said in a cold tone.
Liu Ming nodded when he heard the words. Luo Geng on the other side did not say a word, but he looked at Liu Ming with a fierce face.
Seeing this, the Crystallization Period deputy didn’t say much and waved his hand to launch a green light in four directions.
The runes above the stone pillars at the four corners of the ring emitted a radiant, and a dark green light curtain emerged and quickly covered the entire ring.
“The duel begins!” After all this, the man with a long beard announced the start.
Luo Geng flipped over with one hand, and a gray long sword flashed out from his waist and swirled around his body.
The main body of this sword was already three feet long, so it could no longer be regarded as a flying sword; it should belong to the category of great sword.
“This sword, Liu Huang Sword, is the superb spiritual weapon that Senior Fellow Apprentice made the limelight in the minor competition with, right?” Someone suddenly exclaimed in the audience.
Luo Geng pointed it out, and the three-foot long sword suddenly turned into a gray sword light and blasted at Liu Ming like lightning.
Seeing this, Liu Ming’s eyes flashed. He grasped his hands into fists while releasing rolling black gas out of his body. With a groan, he threw his fist at the sword lightt.
A muffled “bang“!
Under a punch, the gray sword light was deflected back with a dim.
“Eh!”
The elder deputy in the air flashed a look of surprise on his face. He gazed at the black gas on Liu Ming, and he understood it.
When Luo Geng saw that the superb spiritual weapon he was relying on was punched back with his bare hands, he was astounded. He then pointed with a fierce gaze while chanting.
The gray sword light circled fiercely before slashing at Liu Ming again.
There was a burst of slashing sounds!
When the gray sword light was in full bloom, it transformed into a dense gray sword silks, firing at Liu Ming.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5
