Mixed messages, what can we believe,
when thy heart and mind are at war.
The truth is often difficult to perceive,
leaving many more lost than before.
Tender words are promises made,
or is it all just a sport that we play?
Some leave when others have stayed,
and over time their love can decay.
It creates a very a dangerous game,
as many messages continue to mix.
Playing with emotions, causing pain,
leaving behind so many hearts to fix.
It takes so long to discover what is true,
the game of love is over, it’s all through.
