>> A servant’s duty is to look after its master at all times, without fail. For its master’s constitution and well-being is a responsibility that should always checked.
It has been a custom servants followed. Once they have their master, their duty to have their time without any complaints, through thick and thin, and never break their master’s trust.
And on that matter, Abigor, Queen Astarte’s most trusted servant, have been conflicted on the matter the Queen talked about her betrothment.
Abigor has been assigned as servant of former Princess, now Queen Astarte since the time the heir was born. She watches over the princess grow up, together with the former Queen Juno.
Abigor fulfills her duty as a servant. She’s like a second mother to the princess. Though, the princess treats her like a friend and a sister.
Their inseparable relationship makes the former Queen feel at ease. Abigor adores Astarte, like her sister and child. Despite of her young looks, she’s way old enough to find a man to settle for good.
Yet, her duty to serve the princess reigns over everything.
She knows everything about the Queen; from the food she likes to the troubles she has, like the back of her hand. Abigor is always there, especially when the time the Queen needed someone by her side the most.
“I love the Queen more than anyone and anything else. I’m devoted to hers, and I am pleased to be of use to her at my utmost disposition. Be it the one she desired, or the one she needs to sacrifice for the sake of this Kingdom.”
Those resolve thoughts drive Abigor to fulfill her duty.
And then, one day... when she never expected it, a sudden change of course to the history of Demons happened.
The betrothed one appears before them; a mortal from another world.
A red string attached both to the ends of their fingers. Intertwining the gear of fate induce their worlds together. An unexpected meeting of two different race.
Plus, a mortal who has been known to despised their race.

“How could this thing happen? A mortal, and from another world? What’s the meaning of this?”
That fated encounter revamps the Queen. The looks she has never seen before shows gradually after that mortal came. She knows the Queen never gives any attention to her suitors.
Different nobles approach her and takes their impression to swoon the Queen’s feelings, but none of them succeeded. Yet, this one man who came from another world, without any royal blood, albeit came from the noble family, tamed the Queen’s feelings.
Not only the Queen, but herself as well.
She noticed the fluffy feelings accumulate. His presence doesn’t give any threats. It’s like, he seems to be the one they needed to end the overall feud between their race and mortals.
Abigor couldn’t fully understand that sensation so she holds that feeling. It’s kind of wrong to have a mortal to be married to the Queen, but as a servant, its duty is to look after its master.
The Queen’s feelings totally swooned by the mortal as days go by. He captured her innocent heart; showing a maiden looking on her admired person.
Despite of them not seeing together much due to the duties of the Queen, Abigor watches over the mortal from the shadows and reports to her master on a daily basis.
On such days, the Queen sometimes goes to watch over her King-to-be from afar; that made her feel the contentment and affirms her feelings.
“Noticing the drastic changes of the Queen makes me happy; yet, the way how that mortal thinks of her is still uncertain.”
As diligent to her duty, Abigor noted those changes happen. Yet, the still feelings of the mortal to Her Highness worries her. This must settle, though there are still time for them to know each other well.
She didn’t make any ruckus about it. As a diligent servant and a parent-like watching over her offspring, Abigor patiently waits for the slow progress between the two.
And just like what happened, unexpected things tend to happen when least anyone knows.

“We exchanged our feelings, and now are betrothed.”
That word struck her. The mortal who has been in skeptical to the feelings of the Queen, suddenly proposed. This is really an outstanding scene.
Now, her heart must be assured now that her beloved Queen found the happiness. However,...
“I sense there’s something weird here.”
Her hitch tells otherwise. A sudden proposal. This is intended to happen, yet her instincts contradict to it.
She doesn’t want to pry over their affairs; those are the matters for the Queen and King-to-be.
Even so, she can’t just cast aside the feelings of the Queen, should she learn that this is all but a fraud. Abigor couldn’t bear the moment Astarte will weep out of agony again.
Now that she found someone that can make her smile and continue living. That should remain. The days where she always healthy, and full of life, those are Abigor’s wish.
“Your Highness, please proceed on your chamber. I’ll just need to ask something to His Highness for the meantime.”
Abigor whispers to the Queen with the other servants following her. Without any questions, Astarte tilts her head and looks at the servant.
“Okay, but be sure to follow quickly.” Her sweet smile radiantly illuminates on Abigor’s eyes. That smile full of happiness from what happened today.
“Your smile is the most wonderful, milady. I want to protect that smile at all cost, and wish to see that till this life of mine is perished.”
Whispers of admiration speaks through Abigor’s heart as she nods to reply. Soon as the Queen left, she turns to face Justine. Ihe person she doesn’t want to feel doubtful.
“I need to make this resolve.” Abigor called to Justine, who happens in deep thought while walking.
“Sir Justine?” her voice resonates with firm and intimidation. For this time, Abigor needs to find out the truth about those words.
The person she called immediately responds to her call. As their eyes meet, her inner emotions swirl out. The demonic thoughts rise, giving him the extreme horrendous feeling.
This is to show that there’s no way he should tell any lies anymore. Should he do that, Abigor would harm him a little to tell the truth.
All she needs is the truth from him.
Right at the moment, Justine told the truth. He indeed tells a lie to the Queen. The happiness Astarte feels right now is fraud, and that is unforgivable.
The dark storm swirling inside her tries to burst out, but she knows this is something she mustn’t do. Showing her fury won’t do anything good.
“I do love her, and her happiness is my happiness. The people she loves is also the ones I love. And this person in front of me is the man who makes her happy right now.”
Her teeth gritted as those thoughts filled her mind. Abigor knows fully that, and laying a hand on this person might cause Astarte’s trust to break.
“Right now, I need to tell what I need. And I’m sure he will understand it.”
She took a deep breath to clear his mind and the swirling feelings erupting inside her heart. This time, a composed servant should stand as an adjudicator.
“I won’t tell this to the Queen, but he must realize that he must tell the truth to her.”
Abigor gave her piece of mind, and the true feelings trying to erupt inside her. Justine eagerly listens to her and he show reflection from what he did.
“Yeah, I will. I will tell it to her.”
Those words filled with assurance made Abigor twitched a little. At the sunset reflecting on the big window in the hallway, his smile sparkles.
Throughout the things happen, her heart feels the assurance that he will do the right thing. And that’s how she wanted to believe. This man, really tamed not only the Queen, but also her heart.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.

It's a story about a friendship that shouldn't have been trusted but was, and a friendship that should have been trusted but wasn't. And most of all, this is a story of warning. Of a path that was taken when no other was seen, through a forest that can grow in an instant and may never fully be cleared. No two paths are the same. Nor are any two forests. But this is Io's path. And this is where it goes. (Also published on Quotev)
