《Hollywood King》Chapter 274 | Watching Inception~

Yesterday before Ian left his office, there was one thing on his mind. That was how great the reviews had been, and how his predictions had come true with each review.
His predictions were that the entire audience, one hundred percent wouldn’t agree that the movie was a banger, but there was a percentile for which he thought would admire his work of creation, and it had come completely true.
“Okay! Today we’re here to discuss everything about the release of Inception. It’s going to the local theatres soon, and how many screens have we got? 15 in the area at least?”
“21, sir!”
“That’s good. Check with the theatres and see if we can get extra. How about the current ongoing movies? Are there any hits?”
Ian asked and looked at the movie titles on the showcase board that was projected onto the screen.
As he continued to read down, no movie title caught his attention. As the first thing he did was check movie releases and how people react to movies, he knew all the newly released hit movies like the back of his hand. But now, he saw no hit movies on the list.
Thus, Ian saw the opportunity.
“Murphy, ask Paul to come here, he’s working today right?”
The entire conference room was silent when Ian asked Murphy if the studio’s financial head was working that day.
Murphy immediately nodded, “yeah, he is. I’ll let him know.”
[...] In a few minutes, Paul walked in with two files— possibly the files where all the numbers were written. And in all those numbers, they recorded the financial history of the Renner Studio. When Ian made a profit, it went there. When Ian faced losses, it was noted there.
Oh, files that fellow producers would kill to take a look!
“Yes, Mr. Renner?”
As the man entered he asked while looking at Ian.

“Yes, please have a seat. I wanted to simply ask one question, "can we afford to own shares of a theatre chain at the moment?” Ian asked while Paul’s eyes widened.
Paul was a man who showed all the emotions through his face instantly. And as a late-middle-aged man, he had quite the insight with accounts.
“Not really. As you mentioned, we’ve a lot more to invest this year. So, investing in a movie chain is not the best as Netflix just had a jump start…”
“Oh-”
“But, this situation could change in less than three years. If the movies are promising on your end, we could own more than shares in a theatre chain.”
Ian nodded understanding what he said. “Alright, thank you so much, you can leave.”
Paul walked outside with his files in his hand. As soon as Paul left, Ian looked at the employees whose eyes were already on him.
“It’s alright. When Inception hit the theatres, I’m sure theatres would want more screen time. Anyways, let’s focus on the marketing side, what have we got more? The more exposure Inception gets, the better. There are not more than seven days,” he reminded them again.
-
As the days went by, the hype for Inception continuously grew without a pause. Ian made sure that Leonardo DiCaprio who played the role of Cobb, Edgar Williams, who played the Fischer’s part, Danny Dunlap, who was Eames in Inception and Darlene Krouse, who was Mel got plenty of interviews just so that they would get enough exposure.
But good for him, they got the exposure Ian aimed for. In the end, people wanted to watch the movie, and the theatres were pre-booked by all the fans.
“Hello everyone! Good evening! Looks great aren’t we! Today, we’re in front of the Salty Cinema! And as you can see around!" The cameraman diverted the focus from the man in front of him. The guy adjusted his suit as soon as the camera shifted from attention. “All these people are to watch the very first show of Inception! The GROUNDBREAKING movie release, directed by Ian Renner!”

The guy said the latter part of the sentence loudly. Almost as if he was too excited to be there.
And the camera focused on almost all the fans who eagerly waited outside till the movie started, which had thirty more minutes.
“The time is 6.45 pm! And there are thirty more minutes left for the movie to start! But, look at the crowd! Who’s counting right?! Still! This crowd has been here since morning, roaming around the mall, but right now….! Things are looking really interesting! Is it because everyone is so excited because of the reviews?! Which were looking amazing by the way! Or is it because Ian said that he’d be watching the movie with these people, on his Nwitter account?!
“We need answers! And we shall ask them!”
The guy said and walked towards the nearest person with his microphone. The person was a twenty-something woman, who had worn the tiniest clothes she owned.
“Hey, y’all! How is everyone doing?!” she yelled happily to the camera.
“You’re excited to be here?!” the guy asked while looking at the girl.
“Yes, duh! Ian Renner is joining us! Where do you think he is? Ah! Imagine Ian sitting next to me! That would be an absolute dream come true, guys!” she said and made dream eyes.
Her blue hair was all over her face due to the wind, but she was enjoying it.
“Yo! Tell me when you see Ian! The line is moving!” she said and took a few steps forward quickly.
The guy who had the microphone in his hand looked around while confusion took over his emotions.
He cleared his throat loudly, unable to process what just happened and continued what he was saying, “Anyways, as you can see, everyone here is just as excited to be to watch what Ian had in processing for months! Leo and the cast talked highly of Inception! Also interesting, Leonardo DiCaprio, the chef had quite the role in the movie……”
As the guy continued to talk to the camera, everyone else seemed to focus on their tasks.
Twenty more minutes, and the movie was about to begin.
-
From the emergency exit of the theatre, Ian walked in, wearing a mask to hide who he was, yet he tried his best to not look more suspicious than he would with the mask.
Before going to the theatre, he curled his hair, so people would notice less, other than the fact that he was wearing a mask to a place where almost everyone tried to look their best.
Walking inside, he walked past several legs, excusing himself through the crowd and got his seat. F7.
Looking around, people were in their own world as the movie was still about to begin. Ian felt content sitting next to a big man, who occupied 1/3rd of Ian’s side as well. The popcorn he had in his hand made the guy appear ten times better to be around because Ian wanted to stay low-key during the whole experience.
The lights dimmed as everyone in the theatre went to pin-drop silence.
“It’s about to begin, baby!”
One guy from behind yelled loudly, as a grin covered Ian’s face.
‘It’s about to begin!’
