《Wolf Bloodline》Tough Climb

As I took slow steps towards the exit of the village, the old man appeared in front of me once again. In his hands, he held a sturdy rope and two sharp hooks. The old man approached me with slow steps and handed me the items in his hands.
"Here," he said with a gentle smile. "You'll need these on your journey. They won't do me any good anymore."
I didn't understand why he had them or why he was giving them to me, but his sincerity was evident.
"Thank you," I said gratefully as I took the equipment from the old man's hands.
I continued on my way, knowing where I was headed but also realizing that the road ahead would be dangerous. The fact that the old man had given me these tools only confirmed my suspicions. Why couldn't things ever be easy?
I didn't know how long my journey would take, so I set off at a brisk pace toward the mountain to the south. I had left in the early morning and if the mountain wasn't too far away, as the old man had said, I hoped to reach it by evening. At least that's what I thought.
After about an hour of walking, I finally caught sight of a large mountain on the horizon. But as I drew closer, I almost regretted my decision to come. The peak of the mountain was shrouded in clouds and it was clear that it was quite high. The hooks and rope that the old man had given me suddenly made sense. There was no turning back now.
I used my stick as a walking aid along the path until I reached the foot of the mountain. Thankfully, I hadn't expended too much energy yet.
The first part of the mountain was relatively flat and easy to walk on, so I continued at a steady pace. But as I climbed higher, the terrain became more difficult. Rocks and ledges jutted out all around me and it was no longer possible to simply walk.

At this point, I knew I had to use the equipment that the old man had given me, even though I was hesitant. I tied the rope to one of the hooks and scanned the rock face above me for a good ledge to throw it onto.
When I spotted a suitable ledge, I coiled the rope and hurled it upwards. To my surprise, the hook caught on the first try. I tugged on the rope to test its strength and found that it was quite sturdy.
With a deep breath, I began to climb.
I secured the stick to my back and fastened the other hook to my waist. Then I began to climb slowly, using both hands. The first ledge was easy to reach and I quickly made my way up to it. Once there, I removed the hook and reached for a gap on my left side.
My plan was to repeat this process until I reached the top. Holding onto the rock with one hand, I coiled the rope again and threw it upwards. This time, it didn't catch on the first try. But after a second attempt, the hook found purchase on a ledge above me.
I tugged on the rope to test its strength and found that it was still sturdy. So I began to climb again. But as I ascended, I felt the rope begin to tremble. The ledge that the hook was attached to was starting to give way.
I knew that I had to reach the top before it broke completely. So I redoubled my efforts and climbed with all my strength. But it was impossible to make it in time.
The ledge could give way at any moment. Knowing this, I had to find a different route. I looked around frantically for another handhold, but all I could see were sheer rock faces. In desperation, I began to run back and forth along the rope, pressing my feet against the rock for support.

As I ran to the left, I spotted a potential handhold. With all my strength, I lunged towards it and reached for the hook on my waist. Just as the rope came loose from the crumbling ledge, I managed to secure the hook onto the new handhold.
After taking a deep breath to steady myself, I picked up the rope and threw it upwards again. Using this makeshift pulley system, I managed to climb higher and higher.
When I looked back down, it was as if I could see an entire kingdom spread out below me. I was so high up that I was almost level with the clouds. The rest of the mountain was hidden above them and it was impossible to see where to throw the rope next.
So I cut the rope and continued climbing with just the hooks in my hands. The higher I climbed, the colder it became. But I couldn't give up now. Not after coming so far.
Finally, after many hours of climbing, I reached the top of the mountain. In front of me was a vast plain with a huge palace built upon it. A palace on top of a mountain.
I knew that anything could happen now and that I had to be prepared for anything. This journey meant so much to me and I couldn't let my friends or my master down.
As I stood on the top of the mountain, gazing at the palace in front of me, I noticed something that made my heart leap. There, on the highest point of the palace, was the emblem of my lineage. How could such a grand palace stand so securely on top of this mountain? And yet it seemed to be incredibly sturdy, despite the fierce winds that buffeted it.
A sense of awe and wonder filled me as I took in the sight. This was a place of great power and significance. And somehow, I had managed to reach it.

Sunchasers
As Arthur opens his eyes, he finds himself in an unknown place, smack-dab in the middle of nowhere, without anything to help him survive save for a set of pyjamas and little knowledge of outdoors survival. Follow his steps as he tries to figure out where he is, and what will become of him. Sunchasers is a Fantasy novel with a sprinkle of lightweight sort of LitRPG (i.e. without Classes or Stats). While the first ten or so chapters of Book I are about Arthur's lonesome survival, the rest of the story focuses more on exploration and the protagonist will come in contact with other people quite often. The novel is being written in British English and using the metrics system. (I do not own the Cover) Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy this journey! I have a Discord Server, Join Here!

Celestial [A Progression Fantasy LitRPG]
Warning!Profanity, unconventional relationships, drug use, descriptive gore and intimacy. Celestial is a slow-paced and action-packed progression fantasy with elements from the LitRPG genre. The story focuses on the protagonist’s personal growth, violence, sex, exploration and adventure. Follow Zelaria as she embarks on her journey of exploration and adventure, seeking ever greater heights of power. With an affinity for the elusive and mysterious Arcane and a preference for the thrill of close combat she nonetheless chooses to walk the path of a mage. A mage may still use weapons but a warrior rarely casts spells as far as she knows. It’s a logical path for her even if others may call it insanity. What do they know? Most people who choose to specialize in wielding mana tend to pick a mage class aligned with their element. Why become a standard mage, average at everything, when you can use your affinity for fire to become a fire mage and cause destruction with ease? The only problem for Zelaria is that no one seems to know how to get a mage class aligned with the arcane. Approaching 17 years of age she’s still at level 0 while her peers have long left her behind, their classes selected at the age of 15 when they became available. Luck is on her side though as she manages to snag employment as a hauler with a party heading on an expedition to a dungeon abandoned centuries ago. They’re looking for riches and danger while she’s still looking for an answer, one she finds at their destination even if not in the way she expected. Nothing is going to stop her from enjoying all that the world has to offer, not the wish of her parents or even her death. I'll be aiming to upload 5 chapters in bulk every week.
