《Wolf Bloodline》Turmoil In The City (Mila)

Together with some soldiers and a knight, we rode quickly back towards the city on horseback. By the time the sun was almost overhead, we had left the arid land behind and were getting closer to our destination.
Lezlie and Babu were calm despite the situation, but I felt uneasy at the thought of facing the second elite soldier. I had seen with my own eyes how strong he was and what he was capable of.
At the same time, I was happy that Ryuu and the others were gradually trusting me and looking at me as someone who could accomplish difficult tasks. They never left me alone and I was glad to have gained their trust in Wedan.
As we approached the city, we could hear the sounds of battle and see smoke rising. The paladin in front of us called out to us and the soldiers behind him. "Keep your eyes open," he said. "We're about to enter the battlefield."
I didn't want to use my water power or sound wave on horseback. Instead, I took the bow Wedan had given me. I had practiced with it a little during the two weeks of preparation for the battle. The bow was different from other bows. The more we pulled the string, the more its color changed and the arrow that flew out was even stronger with a glow behind it. According to Wedan, there was more.
The quiver on my back had some kind of magic so that no matter how many arrows I shot, a certain number would keep appearing. But if the quiver was damaged, Lezlie said that the spell would break.
After traveling a certain distance through the forest, we were now very close to the city. Babu was on my right with a stick in his hand and Lezlie was on my left with his spells ready. We were about to enter the battle. As we passed the trees in front of us, the paladin in front of us shouted powerfully, "FOR THE THIRD KINGDOM!"

With these words, we entered the city. But it was in more chaos than we had ever imagined. Peasants were fleeing from enemy soldiers and fires were burning out of control. Winged and elite soldiers were fighting everywhere. We had to act accordingly.
While everyone else attacked on horseback, I held my bow and shot at the enemy soldiers I approached. My first targets were the soldiers attacking the peasants. I managed to take them down easily with a few shots. But I had to gather my water power and extinguish the burning fires. It was difficult for me to do this until I cleared the area, so I continued to shoot arrows with my bow. A few enemy soldiers tried to jump on my horse, but I countered them with kicks.
Just as I was about to shoot to help the villagers standing in front of me, a winged creature suddenly grabbed me from my horse and lifted me into the sky. I didn't realize what was happening until I saw who the winged creature was. It was the second elite soldier, the Red Falcon himself.
I wasn't sure if he was trying to kidnap me or drop me from the sky. All I knew was that I had to get rid of him. He was too close for me to use my bow and I couldn't reach it. So I did the only thing I could think of and used my sound wave against him with all my strength. The second elite soldier was very disturbed, but it wasn't enough. Immediately after that, a powerful spell hit him from behind and allowed me to escape.
As I fell towards the ground, I thought I was going to crash. But Lezlie saved me with her magic. She came to me and asked if I was okay.

"Are you alright?" she asked.
I stood up and told her that I was fine. "Yeah, thanks for saving me," I said.
The winged one landed hard in front of us and spoke in a sullen and stern manner. "Interesting," he said. "If it isn't the princess I missed. I see the prince isn't with you this time."
"We don't need anyone else to beat you," Lezlie said.
"We'll see about that," the winged one said. "But this time, I won't take any prisoners."
The winged elite soldier was serious in his words. This time, his aim was not to take us prisoner but to kill us. He turned his wings towards us and started throwing sharp feathers at us. Lezlie managed to protect us from the incoming feathers by creating a sudden barrier with her magic.
When he finished throwing the feathers, I started shooting arrows at him. But he caught one in his hand and dodged the others as he approached us at full speed. Lezlie acted quickly and hit him hard with her earth power. I took advantage of this and shot an arrow into his shoulder.
The winged one remained calm, but the inevitability of the situation seemed to be getting on his nerves. With one hand, he pulled the arrow out of his shoulder and soared into the sky so fast that the clouds were torn apart. We couldn't see where he was going, but after a short time, sharp feathers began raining down on us from the clouds again.
Lezlie and I waited for the feathers to stop in a magical barrier that protected us. When Lezlie lowered her barrier, the second elite soldier suddenly landed hard from the sky right between us. The impact scattered us left and right.
When the second elite soldier landed hard, Lezlie and I were knocked to the ground. Just one of his attacks was enough to take us down. He was physically much stronger than us, but the battle wasn't over yet.
And I had no intention of giving up so easily. No matter how hard it was, I was going to keep fighting back.

Pawns of God
Five Lines PitchJoin Mark in his fight against a God and change the game's destiny! Delve into a slow-paced story focused on the progression of the main party and the development of the world. Mark himself will be narrating his life inside the game, and to a much lesser extend outside. Guild building, economy, and strategy are the central pieces of the novel. Mark is not overpowered, he will have to build his own power through action-packed battles, trials, traumas, love, and death. Accompany him, the healer and the strategist, an agent of chaos, in the adventure of his life. Without further preamble, I will let Mark take the mic. SynopsisHi! My name is Mark. This is my story, my life as I live it day after day. I’m in my thirties, and there’s nothing I love more than playing online games. I’ve just joined the action on the newest VRMMO game, Pawns of God. An immersive experience you can play while sleeping. Of course, as a game that takes pride in its long development and technological advances, everything inside seems and feels real. Beware, this is not a game-turns-real story. I love my own world and I would detest being summoned into another one. If that ever happens, I’ll just quickly take my life and be done with it. I play with my friends, in a party of 5. We have taken several roles, but lately, I've come to love being a healer. It's my secret ambition to someday be the shotcaller. I am not overpowered. If there is any bug or exploit in the game, they are yet to be discovered. Anyhow, for a game of this scale, the company is pouring all of its resources into test servers, QA, and beta tests. I don’t expect to find any, so I’ll be playing the game just like any other person. I must say, though, I am easily distracted, as you will immediately notice once you start. I'm working on it, I promise to improve! I am no hero. Being in my 30s, my heart is too old for this shit. I wouldn’t mind being one, of course. Who hasn’t dreamt of it? Either way, I’m not doing any grand quest to save the world. Whatever the game throws to their users, I’ll be there to experience it. Most of my life, at least the interesting parts that I’ll be narrating, happen inside the game itself. Rarely, there will be some IRL (In Real Life) chapters. You’ll understand, however, that as a freelance software developer, there is not much I can entertain you with when outside the game. Did I say I love games? Well, I’m also a fan of LitRPG literature. You know, journeys of magic, relationships, personal development, items, skills, discovery… In the spirit of not overwhelming my public, I’ll condense each chapter into circa 1500 words. You might have noticed some tags over this story, let me elaborate. I like to swear. I’m not shy when it comes to cursing my enemies, friends, or even myself. When there’s blood, I tell it as I see it. And… it hurts to admit it, but I’m not a casanova. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t ever find love. So, in case I do end up finding it, let’s keep my sexual options open. As for traumas, none yet, but the future is vast and unknown. Release Schedule The schedule is subject to change, particularly if enough readers end up loving it. All chapters are already written, thus there is enough freedom to modify them.
