《Rise of the Last Star - A LitRPG Adventure》The Remainders (3)

The grey slashes multiplied. They dominated the space, madly attacking in all directions extremely quickly. To Liam’s gaze, however, there was no difference between their movement and complete stillness. Attacks limited by “distance” and “time” could no longer reach him. Liam’s attacks kept accumulating on the Autarch’s body and soul as he danced in the storm of grey Aura. Even though the body could regenerate, the soul could not. Not when it belonged to someone with so little understanding of the Law of The Soul. Bydrith scoffed.
“You’re the most formidable foe I have ever encountered. With your talent, you could have become the strongest of the Convergence. All the things we could have achieved together! You threw them all away, and for what? One fewer species in your way?”
Even as the Autarch spoke, Liam didn’t stop attacking. When the man finished his words, Liam stopped. The Dark Elf’s eyes shone with a dangerous glint. The storm of grey Aura, which now covered millions of Convergence light-years, converged on Liam’s position faster than light. Liam raised his hand.
Black Hole.
Backed by Align, Constellation, Aura Lord, and Event Horizon, Liam’s strongest defensive Supreme Technique made its way into reality. Space was forcefully bent. The grey Aura storm curved, following the flow of spacetime. A few of the gray slashes tried to make their way out of the new route but were devoured by the Endless Sea as soon as they ripped a hole in the fabric of reality. The bent space and the Aura storm that followed in its wake were directed to the palm of Liam’s hand. It was as if there was a divine, arcane force pushing everything to that hand. It was a natural law of the universe. Once the entirety of the grey storm entered his palm, Liam clenched his hand into a fist. He opened it a few moments later. The storm was no more.
He had crushed the Autarch’s desperate attack. Even though the slashes carried the depth of more than twelve Supreme Techniques, they were extinguished all the same. It was the difference made by a higher understanding of the Laws of Soul and Will. They empowered all of his Skills and Techniques to a nonsensical degree. They weren’t known as some of the most powerful Laws for nothing. They were also the ones best suited for Liam.
Liam spoke.
“It was a promise to a friend.”
Bydrith chuckled.
“So this is about Luweth, after all. You may have fooled everyone, including yourself, but you can’t fool me. I’ve seen your eyes. You’re incapable of caring about anything. You have no such things as friends.”

Liam nodded with a tranquil expression.
“Indeed, but I used to. I did it in honor of the person I used to be. What is your name, Autarch?”
The Dark Elf gritted his teeth, then spat out the words as if he were choking on them.
“Bydrith Tilrae. I’m Bydrith Tilrae, and I,” The Autarch’s eyes faced Liam’s directly, “I curse you, Liam Allister. I curse you, an unfeeling monster who pursues only a single goal while leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. I curse your talent, your power, and the things you have done with them. I curse all that has allowed you to become who you are. May you find your way into damnation.”
Tears of blood flowed down the sovereign’s face. The realization that his species and all that he had worked so hard to protect would fall had finally hit him. Liam expected his hatred, but his expression still grew colder.
“Then I won’t bother respecting you. You won’t be buried, Bydrith Tilrae. Your species will face its end today, and so will you. You will be erased alongside everything you ever stood for. You won’t be remembered.”
Liam could hear Bydrith’s teeth shattering as he gritted them but paid it no heed. His blank expression as the stars illuminated it in the void looked especially vicious. His eyes were cold.
“…Fucking demon. What gives you-”
Liam compressed himself into a dot, making Bydrith’s words die in his throat. It was as if time had stopped, and Liam was the only one allowed to move. The Singularity multiplied under Align’s effect. Constellation boosted it further. All of Liam’s Supreme Techniques were poured into this one move. In a flash, as if it had always been moving, the Singularities entered the Dark Elf’s open mouth.
Inner World Manifestation.
Liam used all of the tools at his disposal. The surroundings were overcome by the image of a black sea underneath a black sky with golden cracks. The sea rose, enveloping Bydrith’s body and dragging him deeper.
Towards things he would never be able to comprehend or withstand.
Liam’s Singularities wreaked havoc in the man’s soul as his mortal shell was pulled below the water’s surface. An instant later, the Inner World Manifestation was gone. The Autarch’s body had disappeared.
Liam let out a breath.
And that makes it two out of two.
Bydrith Tilrae, the Navalon Autarchy’s Autarch and one of the strongest beings in the Convergence, had fallen.
Liam stretched his arms as his black Aura enveloped the entirety of the Navalon Autarchy’s territory. He witnessed the despair on the faces of the Autarchy’s people as they looked up at the sky. Their lives stopped. Every single being, without exception, was merely looking up at the sky with a shocked expression, even if it wasn’t in their line of sight. They could all feel it. Liam’s perception grasped their emotions accurately. Sadness, despair, hopelessness, pain, suffering, and myriad other negative emotions swirled among the populace. Liam saw a father embrace his wife and children as they wept. He saw a young man’s lost expression as he gazed at his hands, wondering what worth his life had. He observed a couple put their foreheads against each other’s amidst their tears. They whispered sweet nothings and professed their love, for they knew their time was limited. Liam took in all of the lives and emotions of tens of trillions of beings.

In the face of it all…
…He blinked indifferently.
Liam clenched his hand into a fist. There was no time for anything or anyone to react. It was an attack that surpassed simple concepts. In one move, everything was erased.
The Navalon Autarchy was no more.
He then stared at his hands, carefully analyzing his own emotional state. A slight frown made its way into his face. As expected, even though he felt something, it was far too faint to even describe it as an emotion. It was a reaction that he wished he would never have when exterminating another species.
This is hateful.
His human emotions were so dulled that he couldn’t even feel self-loathing or disgust. It was the price he had paid for his meteoric rise in power, something he had chosen because there was no other option.
The more time passes, the less I will even care about the fact that I’m like this.
His lack of humanity would bother him less and less as time went on. The last shreds of mortality within him considered that a problem. Yet, what could he do? He needed to access all of his Perception in order to grow fast enough to end the Convergence. While he had just annihilated two of the strongest forces in the Convergence, he didn’t know how many more there were and what level of power they had reached. Liam sighed.
I need to think of something.
How could he maintain his Perception’s effectiveness while denying its natural side-effect? It was a question he had no answer to. The Chaos beings had stated it to be impossible, but he couldn’t just give up on his human relationships just like that. He would need to come up with a solution on his own.
With a tired expression, Liam looked in the direction of Zancorix.
I should return.
Now that both the Elean Empire and the Navalon Autarchy were destroyed, humanity no longer had any immediate enemies or targets. They would need to throw themselves into continuous wars against other species as they had been doing. However, from now on, things would change. Liam felt the power coursing through him.
I should be able to increase humanity’s base stats in my current state.
Wasting no more time, he teleported, appearing right above Zancorix’s atmosphere. Liam emitted a bit of his Aura. In less than a second, Luweth stood beside him and spoke.
“So, you’ve succeeded.”
“Yes. I fulfilled my promise to you.”
“…What now?”
Liam’s serene gaze focused on the people below. His perception encompassed the entirety of their existence.
“Now, we focus on winning. I’m going to increase humanity’s base stats forcefully through the Primordial Essence. There’s bound to be a commotion. I would like to receive your help in dealing with it.”
Luweth’s eyes widened.
“Wait, what? Right now? You can already do it?”
Liam nodded. Complex emotions went through Luweth’s eyes before the Vampire nodded as well.
“…Alright, then. Let’s get this over with.”
Liam raised his hand. Golden energy exploded forth, enveloping the entire planet and every living human. His eyes crackled with power. The universe shifted. Reality tried its best to remain unaffected but was gradually bent to the will of a single man. Titanic amounts of energy were perfectly contained and concentrated in the bodies of every human.
Liam focused and closed his eyes. The most difficult part would be overwriting the System’s information with a new one in a way that affected reality and the beings themselves. It was a task impossible for anyone else, but he could achieve it. He could feel Ulvir’s efforts clearly. He pushed himself to his limits. Liam felt the humans on the planet’s surface. Their feelings, thoughts, emotions, all of them were laid bare before his gaze. The stats of every human were seen through as they increased in real time. The process wasn’t painful but could be clearly felt by the people. While none of them understood what was happening, they could all feel themselves getting stronger.
Every one of Liam’s Laws was employed, his entire knowledge and power being used for a single purpose. The result was obvious.
“It’s done.”
