《Diverge Summoning》Chapter 40 Forgive me, ancestors

“Damn, now that was a good-ass nap,” Shango said getting up and letting out a loud yawn. After stretching for a while he looked around to see where Yukini was at. A short distance away he could see Yukini was dead asleep on the ground near the water rubbing her belly with a pleased expression written all over her face. It reminded him of one of those cute videos of animals having dreams of running or playing that Yuki loved to watch so much. Looking at this scene, Shango only had one thought. He wishes he had his cell phone. He knew something this cute could get at least 100 million views with a paid visit to Ellen. Even if it was possible to record and upload this video of Yukini, he was sure he would be paid a visit by one of the alphabet gangs about the unidentified creature that he recorded. Looking at the sleeping Yukini's face, he finally understood why Yuki's phone was always filled with videos of cute animals. If she did not have a love for MMA, she most likely would have had a job, surrounded by all kinds of cute, furry creatures.
After admiring Yukini's cuteness for a while, he finally decides to wake her up. After poking and rubbing her for a while, enough to where he felt he need to share a jail cell with Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein, she finally woke up with a big yawn. Gathering up their thing and drinking till their bellies were full, they started to make their way toward the next boss fight.
Along the way, Shango tried his best to explain to Yukini their plan of action. Hoping she would not cause a scene on this scouting mission, because even though their time together is not much, he had a pretty good idea of what type of personality Yukini had, and it reminded him so much of a toddler who had just learned to walk, who had just enter their terrible twos and was just a walk ball of curious destruction.

“ Now look here, Yukini we are only going to scout things out this time around. We will not fight this guy, not at all.” He made sure to stress that as he turned his head and took a look at Yukini who was walking beside him, kicking the sand as they made their way to the next boss. Feeling his gaze on her she looked up, with a blank look on her face, tilting her head and letting out a small growl, and started nodding her head to show that she understood what he was saying, before returning to kicking that sand that was along their path.
Feeling like she understood him some Shango continued to go over the plan.
“We are just going to look around and check out the boss and maybe scout the area ahead of his home some. I'm hoping we could use the terrain to are advantage this time around, It could make putting this guy in the ground so much easier.” He said as he followed Yukini's lead and started kicking the sand to kill time.
“Hopefully it's a creature that we could put up a quick and easy fight against I don't want this to turn into a long drawn-out battle, in a perfect world each of these guys would have some kind of game mechanic to make killing them so much easier for noobs like us.” Wishful thinking he thought as He turned his head and took a look at Yukini who was walking beside him, kicking the sand as they made their way to the next boss. Feeling his gaze on her she look up, with a blank look on her face, tilting her head she let out a small growl and started nodding her head to show that she understood what he was saying, before returning to kicking that sand that was along their path.

Looking at her had a feeling that everything that he just said went in one ear and out the other. He felt that it was a lost cause trying to explain the plan to her but he just had to try, plus seeing her confused face was very cute and her pretending to understand was a sight to see he just wanted to laugh, at his little helpless companion, but he still tried his best to explain his plan hoping for her to understand even a bit of it.
After a while of walking and talking with Yukini, they started to hear the stone-slapping sound of the unknown creatures again. Suddenly, everything around them seemed to quiet down as they got closer to the unknown sound. The Sound of the wind blowing started to fade, and the sounds of all the little creatures moving about in the desert vanished. A second later a sudden sand storm appeared, it was not heavy at first, but after a few seconds visibility became zero and the clicking rock sound intensified.
Grabbing Yukini's hand the sudden urge to turn and run was strong, just as he was about to give in to that impulse all of a sudden things just returned to normal. The loud clicking sound had completely disappeared and the sandstorm that had appeared out of nowhere slowly subside, as if the last minute or so never happen.
“ What the fuck was that,” Shango said, still holding on to Yukini, his heart beating so fast it felt like it was about to jump out his damn chest.
He knew to always expect the unexpected while doing this trial, but that was just too wild. The desire to go look around grew as he looks around. It was eerily quiet. Something just seemed off, and Shango just could not shake this feeling. The urge to go and look around started to grow. Just as he was about to cave in, he heard the voice of the ancestors speak to him.
“We don't do that over here” It was the little voice in his head that his auntie said that every black person had to protect them and keep them from doing dumb shit, it may be superstitious but over the years it had kept him from doing many silly things in his youth. Just as he was about to tell Yukini yet had back for the time being.
His eyes made belief contact with Yukini's eyes and he could tell it was already too late, she pulled her hand away from his and let out a yelled roar that could be easily translated to YOLO before rushing forward in a Frenzy. Seeing this only three words enter his thoughts.
“ Forgive me, ancestors,” He said before taking off after her.

Storm of the Elementals
The apocalypse was something that people were expecting to happen sooner or later, rising sea levels and everything. What our protagonist didn't expect was it to be from a system, let alone the fact that he missed it. Waking up as an elemental and being given frighteningly little info from a system that seemed a little off , stuck with 3 other eccentric individuals that he could almost swear are a bit dodgy, and not being quite sure he was human anymore, it was the start of a long day. It only got longer when he found out he was moved to a whole different world. ~ This is a slow burn story, focusing on the world and what happens if an eccentric historian gets transported in a world with systems and power that are not quite meant for him. ~ Some things you can expect: -No harem, god no. -Yes the protagonist is strong, no he isn't completely OP. -Other people who have been changed, he isn't the only special or chosen one who got transported or messed with. -It is sad to actually have to put this here, but the main character does shockingly have common sense.

A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
