《Judah Judas Adventures》chapter 145 - The final two - Part 2

A few moments later, on the house Garnet, Ulfred, Taka and I live for almost a month, we are gathering into the kitchen, looking at the crystal Garnet put it on the table. That crystal contains the battle skill of Garnet, "Time Freeze", which is the most powerful ability I have ever witnessed.
All four of us are looking at the crystal, questionable and having no clue how we could make the battle skill from the crystal go back into Garnet body. Ulfred (who is feeling better thanks to the three days he was healed by Taka treatment she put it on me that one time) is probably not the smartest person in the room, or I knew inside or outside the Kingdom of Romania, suggested this.
"How about we stab Garnet with it?"
"No way!" says Garnet, Taka and with me to Ulfred angry as he was close to grab the crystal.
"You want to kill her?" I ask Ulfred. "Maybe... It is... I don't know..."
"What, Judah?" asks Garnet.
"I have never seen something like this ever in my life." I say to Garnet. "But..." then, I smirk because I remember someone who has stuck so long into this world, he might be the help we needed it. "I know someone that might help us."
"Who?" asks Ulfred to me.
"Do you know a mage specialized in this?" asks Taka to me.
"Not exactly. It is a... family friend. He is able to help me in this case."
I take the crystal and I look at it carefully. And I wonder "How does a thing like this can capture a power from someone body and keep it intact there?". I was even thinking to break the crystal, but, I didn't want to risk it to lose the battle skill of Garnet. And made her sad to lose someone who was having a deep connection into hard times. I put the crystal down, and I look at everybody.

"So. What we are going to do now?"
"Isn't it obvious." says Ulfred. "We stay on guard until we get enough information from the kingdom. And we will be keeping Garnet safe."
"There are only two assassins, right?" says Taka to Garnet.
"Three." I say to them. "Vidraru is probably still here."
"Right." says Taka to me. "We searched him for those three days all around the village, but we weren't able to get a hold of him anywhere. Hope some knights found him and threw him into a cell or turned him to the Kingdom."
"... In worst case scenario, for him, I would beat him to death if I found him." says Ulfred to us, trying to make all three of us feel better he is alive and in a well shape.
We then look in silence at the crystal, and in a few seconds, Taka gets out of the table, and she is heading to the counter.
"Could you three wait until the soup it will be ready?" she makes a clone of herself, to make the other dish, pasta in pork meat. "It will take a while until it will be done."
"Alright." I say getting off from the table. "I will be heading outside and test my aiming."
"Be careful." says Ulfred to me.
"Don't worry. I will be." I say to him while I head outside, by myself.

Meanwhile, on an abandoned building, a woman, dressed in a hood which is having the colour green, is looking on the windows. She is at the last floor of the huge building. There is also the wounded assassin, Vidraru, who got into a bad shape from the fight which was happened a few days ago, and he is still wounded because the potions of health he was given by Kata wasn't enough powerful to cure all of his injures.

"The target it is on a house with green roof, close to a well?"
"Yes. At least, that's what Thomas told me." says Vidraru to the lady who is checking with a brown, wood telescope the areas around Bran Village.
"On only this village there are at least five houses with green roof. But, none of them are close to a well... Anything else?"
"I don't know. Thomas only told me this when I was after them and stopped at the Tavern to take a drink."
"And surprisingly, you saw them and attacked them. At least, you could've followed them, instead of sending Luc to check the perimeter."
"That genius would be able to see anything from the sky." says Vidraru to the lady who took her eyes from the telescope and looks at Vidraru.
"You got those wounds by only one child?"
"One child you transformed himself into a vampire and a woman using clones on herself to me."
"But Garnet ability, was successfully sealed?"
"Indeed." says Vidraru with a smirk. "Those bastards don't know that the only way they can put the ability to the girl it is by stabbing her chest."
"But they would try that?"
"No." says Vidraru with a smirk. "Most people would think this would kill her, but the truth is... The crystal will only transfer the battle skill into the girl. And this is a new weapon, Kata."
"Right." says Kata to Vidraru. "You are at least useful once in a while. We are going to fight much easier. If the bastards didn't figure out about the crystal.
Kata continues to check the area with the telescope, searching for the house where Judah and his three teammates are living.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
