《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 109: The Ultimate Weapon's Second Downfall Part 2

On the runway of the flying airship carrier, Lumios paced back and forth as he mumbled so strongly that everyone around him could've sworn the words were morphing into mirages. Lumios lightly tapped his chin before he swerved his gaze at the Ancient Colossal as Providence and the others combated the Ancient Colossal and its variety of drones.
"The Supreme Guild Master mentioned to Father the Ne-Lon Construct's energy core was reactivated using alchemy. Then it transformed from its tower mode to its colossal mode. I wonder if I'd be able to do that in-" Lumios said before he was slapped on the back by Callie.
"As much as I share the desire to pry and tinker with ancient technology, we shouldn't do something on that scale you here?". Lumios rubbed the spot on his back Callie slapped, and he sighed after he mulled over Callie's words.
"I suppose you're right, don't want a repeat of the current situation.". Lumios gazed back at the Ancient Colossal before he raised an eyebrow as he spotted a large rainbow-coloured bubble far in the distance. Lumios squinted his eyes, and he widened his eyes when it clicked in his head what the magic bubble was.
"Well... that's going to be problematic... for Luvi's folk's master," Lumios uttered.
Inside the Ancient Colossal's head, Zalroth rocketed through the air and fired a cluster of black lightning bolts at the incoming energy bolts from the Ancient Tower's energy core. The golden energy spewed out of the energy core striking the walls of the Ancient Colossal's head before ripping large chunks of golden metal from the walls and swirling the metal through the air like they were driftwood in a whirlpool.
Water magic circles appeared by Zalroth's hands before he drew out water mana from the magic circle and formed the water mana into large cat-like paws. Zalroth swiped his arm to the left, and the water mana claws slashed the approaching metal debris into thin strips.
Zalroth landed on some floating debris before flaring up his Lightning Amp lightning, which merged with the electromagnetism aura, and lunging at the Ancient Tower's energy core. He pulled back his arm and slashed through the floating debris and the lightning projectiles from the power core. The power core seized its attacks on Zalroth, causing Zalroth to tense up his arms.
The power core let out a blinding flash and unleashed a concentrated energy beam. Zalroth flung his arms in front of himself in a cross formation, in time, before the energy beam slammed into his water mana paws and forced Zalroth back. The energy beam hurtled Zalroth through the air, bulldozing him through numerous large metal debris until he broke free from the energy beam. Zalroth dropped onto a metal walkway, as Chronia and Kusana (with the spider-form Xelphia laying on Kusana's head).
"See any opening in the energy ball's attacks?" Xelphia asked.

"Nada, it sure is a hassle you can't just see how we beat this thing, Nia," Zalroth remarked, causing Chronia to pout at Zalroth.
"It’s almost like the creator of these things designed them purposely to spite us with all the convenient countermeasures it has: the perception blocking, the god power nullification…," Chronia murmured before her expression shifted to a surprised one.
“Speaking of that, you better not be as reckless with taking damage as you usually do, Hubby,” Chronia added. Zalroth gave Chronia a cheeky smirk, clicked his neck and pounded his fists together.
“Don’t you worry about me; I’ll be just fine,” Zalroth remarked jokingly. Zalroth went to turn away, but Chronia grabbed his face and pulled him down to her eye level.
“Did you forget what happened the last time you said that line?” Chronia said as she lightly shook Zalroth, causing Zalroth to chuckle. Chronia whined and frantically shook Zalroth.
“Zalroth Sakamoto!”. Chronia stared straight into Zalroth’s eye while forcing her eyes to remain open, to keep the eye contact intact until her eyes watered. Zalroth exhaustedly sighed and dispersed the water mana paws from his hand before he placed his hands over Chronia’s.
“I…’ll try.”. Chronia gave Zalroth a bruh face.
“You’ll try?” Chronia said while mimicking Zalroth’s tone and giving him the side eye.
“You know I hate breaking promises, and given my track record, I’ll probably end up getting hit anyway, so I'd rather not jinx it.”. Chronia groaned and rolled her eyes while muttering frustratedly. Chronia tilted her head and sighed as she released Zalroth's face.
"What am I going to do with you?" Chronia asked rhetorically as she felt Zalroth place his fist on her forehead. Zalroth gave Chronia a light noogie before he quickly sprinted off again. Chronia stood in silence and slowly placed her hands on her forehead as her cheeks turned a light pink. Chronia smiled contently and giddily giggled.
"Umm... Lady Chronia?" Xelphia uttered. Chronia was snapped out of her giddy state, and she quickly slapped her cheeks before turning to Xelphia and Kusana.
"Right-right, need to think of a plan to help Zalroth get close to the energy core and punch it with the magic gauntlet.". Chronia closed her eyes and tapped her forehead as she considered multiple ideas.
"Grandmother of Kusana, why doesn't Grandfather of Kusana use his crystal staff?".
"For two reasons: the first is he'd have to expose his tails to be able to get it out and by doing so, he'd be a bigger target. Secondly, even if he had his staff, it wouldn't work since we're inside the Tower.". The trio continued to brainstorm ideas as Zalroth bolted down the walkway leading to the power core. Kusana frowned with her eyes closed and groaned as energy bolts spewed out everywhere.
Meanwhile, the rainbow-coloured magic bubble slowly floated up the side of the Ancient Colossal, and the bubble quivered and shook from the raging turbulence coiling around the Ancient Colossal as it made even the slightest movement. A strong punch of turbulence slammed into the bubble causing the bubble to slam against the side of the Ancient Colossal and knocking around the occupants inside the magic bubble. Minia sat up in the bubble before she shook her head, tossing Lola and Destiny out from her gelatinous hair.

"I wish I had an ice cream," Lola said. Minia groaned and snapped her fingers as she help Kyubi in her arms. A strawberry ice cream appeared in Lola's hand and she gladly ate it, before proceeding to say she wished she had another one to which Minia conjured another one.
“How’d I manage to let you rope me into this?” Minia murmured as she reached into her hair and pulled Kyubi free from it.
“The gelatin One lost fair and square in the battle of cat cards and agreed upon the agreement of doing as the winner says,” Kara stated as she sat on top of the floating Chronicle Codex. Minia groaned and rubbed her forehead.
“If I had known you’d want me to take you inside the Ne-Lon Tower then I wouldn’t have agreed,” Minia grumbled, causing Kara to smirk.
“And the gelatin one should’ve known one knew the gelatin one cannot break contracts,” Kara said in a monotone voice, yet still portraying a cocky demeanour. Minia rubbed her eyes while slowly exhaling through her nose in an attempt to cool her nerves and her sizzling gelatin hair; however, it was a tall order given Kara was staring straight at Minia with the biggest in-your-face grin. The bubble abruptly stopped its ascent, and Destiny turned to face the others.
"Alright, everyone we're within range, and Father nor Mr Zulcrestus or the other magistrates have spotted us yet; are you ready?" Destiny asked, to which Nola and Kara nodded while Kyubi clapped her hands. Destiny straightened the black fur scalf with flame-shaped metal dots all over it and raised her fists into the air before the magic bubble disappeared.
Providence and the magistrates rushed high in the air as the Ancient Colossal swung its arms forwards and slammed its hands together. Providence and Zuno raised their hands in unison and conjured a giant six-ringed Righteous Rein Ring. Providence balled up his fists, causing all the light rings' radius to shrink instantaneously; the narrowed rings rapidly funnelled mana through them into a large refined needle made of light mana. Zuno flexed his hand, and he sharply snapped his fingers.
The six-ringed R.R.R shone brightly like super-heated coils and blasted the light mana needle at the Ancient Colossal's head. The Ancient Colossal summoned a swarm of drones, and they bundled together in front of the light mana needle's path but it easily pierced through them. The Ancient Colossal swung one of its hands in the way of the light mana needle.
The needle plunged straight into the hand but only dug around a third of the way through the palm of the Colossal's hand. The needle drilled into the Ancient Colossal, but after a few seconds, all of the needle's momentum was killed, and crushed by the Ancient Colossal.
"What a hassle, the level scaling between the boss and its minions is completely out of wack," Echo said with an annoyed tone. Karock rolled his eye and opened his mouth to speak, but he was cut off when all of the Ancient Colossal's eyes sprung to max intensity. The group got ready to react but before they could do anything the eye suddenly shut off, and the arms and head of the Ancient Colossal went limp.
"Damn, did I miss all of the action?" Tokubaiyashi asked playfully as he flew onto the scene.
"What took you so long, you left at the same time as we did?" Echo asked as she crossed her arms at Tokubaiyashi.
"My apologies I went to the group of people the Supreme Guild Master mentioned the Fluffball and Princess Destiny were but neither of them was there; however, there was an odd seraph cosplaying as one of those Candy Cat characters.".
"What?" Providence asked as he and all the others looked at Tokubaiyashi with serious glares.
"Yeah, the outfit looked well made, but she didn't seem to-".
"Not the cosplayer you moron, the part about the princesses not being missing!" A swarm of different coloured Hikas shouted, in a glitchy discordance symphony.
"R-right," Tokubaiyashi muttered while the Hikas flailed their arms up and down as they circled Tokubaiyashi like a tornado. Providence sensed someone trying to contact him telepathically, and he answered.
"Yes, Lumios?" Providence said calmly.
"Pardon.". Providence's more serious tone caught the others' attention and caused the Hikas to cease their spinning.
"My liege?" Zuno said as he dispelled the six-ringed R.R.R.
"Lumios said he saw Destiny's Time-space Distortion bubble floating by the Ancient Colossal just now," Providence stated before he immediately activated his Light Dash and rocketed off for the Ancient Colossal's head, leaving the others slightly lost as they hurried behind him; however, the group didn't get very far before the Ancient Colossal's eyes glowed a bright deep purple, and caused everyone to halt their movements.
Providence readied the Valley of Hymns for a counterattack, but instead of a beam of dark purple energy shooting out of the Ancient Colossal's eyes like he expected to happen; a massive plasma mana beam erupted out the back of the Ancient Colossal's head and flinging large molten chunks of metal in every direction leaving everyone at a loss for words.

Children of Danu, People of Skill Book 1. (LitRPG/Gamelit)
Hi all, this is my first attempt at fiction ever. I'm sure it's awful, first attempts at new things usually are. Hopefully you can find something you like in it. I had a great deal of fun writing it. It's a basic Litrpg/Game, God sends you to a new world to do their bidding plot. I Know I did too much telling and not enough showing. I'm working on that. The underlying system is one haven't seen or done much. a full Point Buy system, like Gurps, Champions or the Hero system. After writing it a while, I see why folks don't do it. The record keeping is tedious. And once you start doing math in subsequent chapters, you can't go back and add more action, just because you dread redoing all the math. I've got about 80k words written in two "books" on the novel so far. I'm going to edit chapters and try to drop a couple a week till it's finished. Hopefully that will work for folks. I need to punch up the amount of action. I'll be working on that as well. Thanks, Cal-P.S> The cover art is one of the two CIrce Paintings By Waterhouse.
