《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 112: The Ultimate Weapon's Second Downfall Part 5

The massive purple plasma beam pierced through the clouds and melted the rim of the hole it punched through the Ancient Colossal's head. Lumios watched the plasma beam from the flying airship carrier as it narrowed and died down.
"So, spiritual inheritance for kitsunes is based on the minimum output of the parent's strongest form... no wonder those two had so much latent potential," Lumios muttered as he tapped his chin.
"Spiritual inheritance?" Yokuza asked as Sapphire piggybacked on his head, and Prima and Yumi were lightly punching his legs.
"I, myself, am not too knowledgeable on the in-depth specifics of how it works, but-". Lumios was mid-sentence before Callie sprung out in front of him and cut him off.
"Leave the explanation to the bio-engineer, why don't ya?" Callie cheerfully said in a boastful manner. Lumios waved his hand, telegraphing to Callie to be his guest. Callie tapped the lenses of her goggles and a floating green holographic screen.
"Just like any other biological trait, like height, special traits, or hair colours; every living being inherit a fraction of their parent's three spiritual energies, those would Qi, Chakra, and Magical Energy," Callie said as the holographic screen displayed infographics and illustrations of the things she mentioned.
"For almost all living creatures, the way this inheritance is done is by the energies...," Callie said, but she slowly came to a stop as she looked over at her kids and saw they were lost.
"In simple terms, the parents' energies in the child merge to form the child's energies, and these energies ranges are determined by... erm: the minimum is the mean average of the parent's respective spiritual energies, and the maximum is determined by the parent's energies added together; although there are cases when each can be higher or lower than they should be.". Callie's kids nodded their heads as Callie talked.
"But... thing prince mentioned?" Yumi asked as she punched Yokuza in time with her words.
"The kitsune thing?". Yumi nodded.
"Simply put, for kitsunes, given their mostly spiritual energy-based body, their children inherit their energy based on their strongest spiritual transformation; so, if a kitsune has access to the sage form then their kids would have higher qi and magical energy reserves than if their parent didn't have the form," Callie said.
"Example... please?" Yumi added. Callie tapped her chin and hummed as she struggled to conjure an example. Callie heavily hummed and rubbed her forehead, but a loud wet splat emanated nearby and caught everyone's attention. Chronia was drenched head to toe in the water, and her clothes made squelching water-dripping sounds as she whipped her arms. Chronia glared over the edge of the floating airship carrier before she opened her mouth and water flowed out like a waterfall.
"And he wondered why I wanted Nola to warp me up here.". Callie widened her eyes before a lightbulb lit up on the holographic screen.
"Oh yeah, I got an example," Callie said, as Chronia was ringing water out of her hair.

By the Ancient Colossal's head, the Ne-Lon Administrator blasted out of the Ancient Colossal's head and spiralled through the air as parts of its slightly melted body flecked off its body. The Ne-Lon Administrator darted its scanners downwards as it heard a sonic boom erupt from below.
Zalroth exploded out from the chasm in the Ancient Colossal's head and rocketed straight from the NL Admin (Ne-Lon Administrator). The NL Admin morphed an arm into an arm cannon before it swung it in Zalroth's direction and fired a storm of golden energy projectiles. Zalroth smirked and bolted around the projectiles like lightning, grabbing one of the energy balls before pitching it at the NL Admin.
The NL Admin blasted the incoming energy ball with another energy ball from its arm cannon before it morphed its other arm into a shield. Zalroth conjured a Lightning Phantom sword, tossed it at the NL Admin, and it pierced straight through the elbow of the shield arm. The NL Admin fired another energy projectile at Zalroth, but Zalroth backhanded it back into the NL Admin's face.
Zalroth spun around in mid-air and kicked the NL Admin in the chest; Zalroth grabbed the NL Admin's shield as the NL Admin charged an energy cannon blast. Zalroth blocked the energy blast before he bashed the shield against the NL Admin's head, causing the semi-liquid shield to splat against the NL Admin.
The NL Admin morphed its cannon arm back into a hand and hurled it at Zalroth but Zalroth caught it mid-throw. The NL Admin generated a new arm and threw a punch with it. Zalroth smirked, reeling his left arm nub back as green qi coursed to the end of the nub before a new arm with a large scar all over it sprouted out of the nub. Zalroth coated his left fist in plasma mana and swung it at the NL Admin; his fist pierced through the NL Admin's fist before socking it in the face and striking its energy out of its head like a home run batter.
Zalroth pressed his hand against the NL Admin's body before flooding it with storm mana (the dark green variant of wind mana) and making it explode. Zalroth flicked his hand, and a gust of wind mana struck the NL Admin's energy core flinging it back towards Zalroth. Zalroth raised his right hand and caught the energy core.
"Perhaps the Mastered Sage form was a bit overkill.". Zalroth flicked the energy core onto the tip of his finger and spun the core on his finger like a basketball, as a ball of light floated out from Zalroth's hair.
"Are you unsatisfied with this battle, ex-god?"
"Are you unsatisfied with your battle?"
"Battle, battle, Battle, Battle, Battle, Battle."
"Battle."
Zalroth froze, and his eyes widened as he heard the choirs of the millions of clashing voices, with only a single male voice being distinct enough from the rest. Zalroth slapped his face to snap himself straight; he exhaled before turning around to the origin of the voices to see a ball of light with a strange distortion effect emanating from it floating before him.

The orb shrank to the size of a baseball before the very physical space around the orb bent and contorted into the shape of a short young girl with scruffy hair, followed by large tree root-shaped wings made of aether sprung forth from the being's back.
"Well, one has been given an enquiry."
"Inquiry, Inquiry, Inquiry, Inquiry, Inquiry."

Young Girl Sounding
Voice At The Forefront Of The Others
Zalroth itched his ears as the being finished speaking before he sighed.
"I would answer whatever you said, but could you speak in a way that doesn't hurt my ears, Ela?". Ela tilted their head before placing a finger on the spot a mouth would be.
"How's this?" Ela asked, with their other voices reduced to faint whispers. Zalroth nodded as he crushed the energy core with the gauntlet, causing the gauntlet to shatter in the process.
"To answer your question, If we weren't so close to a large population of people, I would have allowed the Ne-Lon Admin to have got to full power... but I assume you already knew that?". Ela nodded their head as they looked a little downwards as the Ancient Colossal's body bellowed through the air and collapsed towards Lake Vesovian. The Ancient Colossal's body plummeted and pierced through the air as the wind galed around its body and unleashed a hallowing howl.
Zuno swung his arms to the side, and his horns radiated a tone of teal qi. The same teal qi wrapped around the Ancient Colossal's body and managed to slow down its rapid descent as Zuno's face turned red.
"Do you think you can handle this?" Providence asked as he floated beside Zuno, sweating like a fountain.
"As... much as I wouldn't want to burden you... I'd appreciate some assistance in any form.". Providence raised his left arm, and the grey bracelet magic tattoo lit up. The magic tattoo spread up his arm before multiple large horns, which looked similar to Zuno's ones, sprouted out from and was made from the grey magic tattoo.
Providence's grey magic tattoo alkorian horns emitted a bright teal, encasing the Ancient Colossal's body in an even thicker veil of teal qi. The Ancient Colossal's body reeled to a screeching halt, and the abrupt stop of legs smashed against the lake creating massive towering cascading waves.
"Alright... I've done the calculation, and if you move the Ne-Lon Colossal's body at a speed of 0.00005 centimetres per second, you won't create too many more waves," Teal Hika said as she used a normal-sized handheld pirate-themed telescope to take measurements whilst Echo held her hand under the telescope.
"Why do you need to use my telescope don't you have a magnification tool built into your eyes?" Echo asked.
"Cuz telescopes are cool.".
"Thanks... I guess.". Karock floated past the telescopers and stopped by Providence.
"My liege, what would you like me to do?" Karock askedas he gave a bow.
"Head over to the camp Charlotte and her squad are currently assisting, and take everyone there to the airship carrier," Providence stated. Karock bowed again before he disappeared in a cloud of shadowy clouds.
Back with Zalroth, Zalroth created a magic barrier beneath his feet and reverted to his base form. Zalroth collapsed to his knees and dry heaved a few times as Ela touched down on the magic barrier.
"You sure are reckless with your use of your qi given the rate of your infection, but most parents do reckless things for their children, now don't they," Ela said as they stuck a finger in Zalroth's spine and drained gallons of liquid aether out of Zalroth, causing Ela's aether wings to spread and grow.
"I'm surprised a thing like you would be able to understand something like that," Zalroth said snarkily.
"It seems you continue to mistake one's hands off and void of emotion as signs one is a machine, but don't forget what one truly is.". Ela pulled their finger free from Zalroth, and Zalroth rose to his feet as the hole in his neck healed.
"Yeah, yeah...," Zalroth uttered before he felt Ela place their hand on Zalroth's left arm and stared at the scar on it. Ela poked the scar before letting go and floating backwards from Zalroth.
"I will return once you arrive at the city of Delaureus, and I'd suggest you reframe for using your transformations or divine powers without your Heavenly Key until I return, also heads up," Ela said before its body unwound, followed by its ball of light floated into Zalroth's hair.
"Woah... they referred to themselves in the first person....". Zalroth placed his hand on his chin and closed his eyes.
"Though I guess it makes sense given it's a manifestation of Exis... wait, heads up for what?". Zalroth shot his eyes open as a massive thunderous torrent of golden lightning bolts erupted from below, causing Zalroth to facepalm.
"Right... all the energy gets released when the core is destroyed...; Existence showing up completely took me out of it for a second.". Zalroth held his hand on his head as he shook it before his tails bursted through his crispy fur cloak around his waist, causing the cloak to burst into flakey pieces.
"Whoops, Nola's going to be mad... well, madder now than she would've been with the cloak being ruined.". Zalroth reached into his tails and pulled out the Crescent Moon Staff before he turned around and slammed the base of the Crescent Moon Staff against the magic barrier. Zalroth pressed his free hand against his head before he clicked his neck and also clicked a majority of his joints as he moved his limbs. Zalroth gazed up at the spiralling tornado of golden energy as it continually contracted and condensed into an opaque state.
"Alright, time to get this over with.".
