《Judah Judas Adventures》Chapter 164 - Dinner at Thornosian Family

The interior of this house it is huge. It presents a big living room, a kitchen, a small armoury room for the nine hired personal guards (you can hire assassins if you are noble, but it will cost a fortune since most of them has to live in the same house as with you). And the other floors, contains the rooms of the personal guards, the Father, the three kids he has, and Grandfather of Father.
We are going into the kitchen, which is big, has a big table and with only ten chairs, a few pictures or portraits hanged on the walls, windows put to give them fresh air, candles on the ceiling to illuminate the entire room, rather than one single candle like we have at the home in Dobrat. And the room where we have to cook presents some amazing equipment that Diana described it to me one time as she worked as a cook for a while.
The room where the cookers, or slaves as us, are cooking presents tables where we are cutting vegetables, stir them in big bowls, lots of big boilers on fireplace to cook different dishes for much more people. I can only count three of them there. And lots of other stuff I do not know at this moment since I haven't seen a kitchen equipped with a lot of things. Not even my Orphanage has a lot of room.
"You cut the vegetables and meat." says Fiona putting the pig meat at a table together with some carrots, tomatoes, krakit (an onion that can become either blue or violet) and onions. "And I am going to stir the soup at the boiler."
"Alright." I respond to Fiona going to the table and proceeding to cut the meat in medium sizes, like Diana taught me when we were cooking together when Fiona was on a solo mission.
I continued to cut that big meat of pig for about a few minutes, then, when I finished it and put on a bowl where Fiona will throw them at the soup, I start to cut the vegetables in small pieces. It was easy because at Orphanage Nuns were sometimes calling us to help prepare the dinner and teach us the work of making dinner.
After a few moments, I looked at Fiona where sis tiring the pot, but there, I saw her pouring a bottle of a drink liquid. I go to her, and I ask her.

"What is this?"
"Diana's secret sauce." responds Fiona. "She handed to me in case this dish would not be on these people taste. She always thinks my dishes doesn't match her."
"Thank you, Diana!" I said on my thoughts because her sauce can make any dish Fiona can make taste delicious. "We are saved."
I let Fiona continue her stirring while I go to the table where I cut the vegetables and the meat. I put the vegetables I cut in different bowls. I put the carrots on a small bowl, the tomatoes on a medium bowl, krakit on another small bowl, but onions, I put together with krakit since Diana always mixes those two types of onions to make them have a much more delicious taste.
Apparently, Fiona is making the soup, while I make the meat. All I have to do is much more complicated than what Fiona is doing right now.
Foremost, I have to but the pieces of meat I cut earlier, all eleventh of them on a raising position. Then, I put the tomatoes all around on the plate, onions and with krakit together on top of the pieces of meat, and the carrots, between the meat. After I finished this, I go with the plate next to the pot where Fiona finishes stirring the soup, and I request to her to pour the soup on my dish to make it tastier. Fiona did as I requested, she put small amounts of her soup into the pig meat. She also added small dosage of Diana secret sauce on it.
I put the dish I prepared on the table and waited for Fiona to put the soup on the bowls she will have to serve them at the table. She has to go first because from the kid's memories (and slave mother memories), the slave woman goes first, then after she left the kitchens, I go and deliver the dish.
These memories of the slaves are really useful to us. We wouldn't be able to infiltrate at this moment if it weren't for them. I also feel bad for the kid as I look upon the ugliest memories he is having stored inside my mind.
As Fiona left the kitchen, carrying six bowls of soup on a big wooden plate, I followed her, carrying the metal plate with the pork on soup. Hope these people would like the dinner.

We get at the table where the family we are working for the next unknown days or months, we put the dishes there, at the people table's sides, then we leave the dining room because we are not allowed to eat with them. And we stay on the kitchen, waiting for someone to call for us and request either something to drink, or any more food.
As we stayed in the kitchen, Fiona looks at me, she stays near the wall, with her ear next to it, and I observe her transforming the left ear into a vewolf ear. She does this small transformation because this one can make it able to hear almost anything in a wide area. This is what Fiona told me a few days ago when she used her Vewolf ears in a mission to hear the footsteps from about three hundred meters from us.
"They are talking about the dinner." says Fiona in a whispering tone to me. "They like it."
"Good." I say to Fiona feeling glad that they did not notice us by the cooking method and the way we were cooking.
"…Hm…" say Fiona being serious after three minutes of listening.
"What is it?"
"They talk about meat. About human meat."
"These people…" I say to myself. "How they can eat human meat like it is nothing?"
"Judah…" says Fiona looking at me. "Go." she points at the wooden cups on a table, six of them on a big wooden plate. "Fill them with water from the barrel and bring it to them."
"I understand." I say to Fiona and I go fill the wooden cups with water.
While I was going there, I was thinking about the fact that I was not able to hear these people requesting water. Maybe they were talking slow, then barging into the room, yelling at us and then punishing us with ropes and beating with a wooden bat. I filled the cups with water, and after that, I go with the plate to the dinning room, but I did not take even one step there, and fell on the ground. I feel because someone made me trip over, and that was one of the kids of this Thornosian's Father.
"What have you done?" says Thornosian's Father to me, rising up from his seat and walking angrily to me. "You are sleepy, bastard? Perhaps a whip would make you energetic."
"I'm sorry, sir." I try to say to boss, but Fiona, shows up, and she protects me.
"Move away, slave." say Thornosian Father to Fiona, which is role-playing as the slave it is held at the Romania Kingdom. "You should better move or else you would be tortured."
Fiona did not say anything. The man is hitting her, the hit was a strong one, but it did not move Fiona away. To me, it might be strong enough to throw me on the ground, but compared to Fiona's unnatural strength and endurance, it was like a light wind breeze. The man looks scared for a moment, then, Fiona acts like she was taking the hit like a strong champion, she dives on the ground. Thornosian Father laughs at Fiona's, and he kicks her belly.
"You piece of rubbish. You little slut! You really think you can take the hit of me?"
Fiona fakes a productive cough, to make her role more believable to the man that leads this family and to the other members. She gets at least ten kicks and punches, then, Thornosian Father looks over me with an angrily looks and spits on my face. The spit he gave was hot and made me yell out of pain. The spit of his saliva felt like fire, or lava. What is this man?
I fell on the floor, and scream out of pain. I tried to touch the saliva of that creature in human skin, but it hurts my fragile hand. I gazed at the hand, and saw a burning mark on my big finger.
I was close to launch a spell to that man, but I hesitate because we cannot reveal our powers. All we can do now, is to take the hits and not reveal our real identity to this cursed family.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?
