《Once Human, Now a Parasite B》Chapter 92 Mediocre Talent

Around the time Arthur was hunting the forest, a black shade that merged with the darkness of the night roamed the campus before heading to the small building in which the regular employees resided.
It searched for a bit before finding Old Arnold’s small room. However, the place was empty and seemed to have been recently cleaned.
The black shade carefully looked everywhere but found no signs of its target, so it soundlessly retreated outside.
In the male dormitory for Third-years, Nader Coach was sitting on his bed with his eyes closed. When the black shades returned inside of his body, the pale-skinned youth opened his eyes and sighed.
Even though he failed, he didn’t look angry or frustrated. His expression was as serene as ever, utterly devoid of any emotional distress.
Nader’s sole mission in infiltrating the Nemia Academy was to locate the traitor.
Disguising himself as a student and obtaining legitimate identifications were all done by his organisation, but even after the passing of months, Nader had yet to find any good leads.
To begin with, the traitor was an expert in Stealth, which made the mission all the more difficult. Moreover, he had joined hands with the Brutal Prince Order, led by Verno.
Initially, Nader had approached the spies’ representative and proposed a fair deal for the traitor, but Verno cursed at him and unleashed his hounds.
‘Was my identity discovered? Why would the janitor, or whoever is behind him, give me the location of the Sun Alchemists?’
In the same dormitory, but in a spacious and exquisitely decorated room, Verno Vir Divitiae was laughing hysterically while holding a long whip.
His exposed upper body was sweating as he swung the whips continuously, though the painful cries of the girls strapped to the bed were not heard by anyone but him.
“Isn’t it exhilarating?”
Verno turned to look at Feylord, who stood by his side while smiling and nodding.
“This is power. To subdue anyone regardless of their rank. Look how she’s crying! I almost can’t hold it in!”
“I especially like how you scarred her back.”
“Hahahaha! I knew you were like me!” Verno laughed and patted Feylord’s shoulder in approval.
‘I’m not a psychopathic sadist, I just want to get what I want.’ Thought Feylord to himself as he held back the urge to vomit.
When Verno handed him the whip, he happily obliged.
Feylord didn’t deny that his ambitions knew no end, and it didn’t matter to him whom he sided with. Verno was with the Brutal Prince Order, but he was also the nephew of Olivia Vir Divitiae, one of the Ten Seats of the Aristocratic Consortium.
Put simply, Feylord wasn’t satisfied with being a Baron, which was why he abandoned his position and came to the Nemia Academy. His goal was to use Verno to get close to Olivia and catch her interest. That way, he would steadily climb the societal hierarchy.
Once he was done with his sadistic tendencies, Verno fell back on the couch and asked,

“How is it going with that Northern bitch?”
“I’m getting on her good side. She has a grudge against the new teacher, so I’m going to use that to get her trust.”
“Good! Very good!” Verno clapped while cackling crazily. “Soon, I’m going to make that proud slut beg for mercy. Ah! The feeling of trampling her under my feet! Imagining is making me…”
Verno clutched his crotch and moaned unpleasantly.
After a brief bout of silence, he snapped his fingers, which made two students enter the room and drag the unconscious girl.
“You know how to deal with this. Give her money and make her quit. If she refuses then kill her.”
“Yes, sir.”
The stoic students didn’t utter any unnecessary words and swiftly left after taking the female student.
“I’m rather fond of you, Feylord. Unlike those idiots dogs outside, you know how to act and what to say. Did you think about my offer?”
In response, Feylord bowed his head, “I’m sorry, sir. For the time being, I have no interest in joining your esteemed order.”
Tsk! What a shame. Still, that doesn’t mean we can't be very good friends! Just keep being useful, alright?”
“Of course, sir.”
Verno unceremoniously waved his hand as he jumped on the bed and sniffed the blood, “Ok you can piss off now. I want to sleep.”
“I wish you pleasant dreams.”
Feylord retired to his room and locked the door before sitting on his bed and extended his arms.
Flames burst from his fingers and swirled around, but they refused to change into the shape he was imagining. No matter how many times he tried, he was met with an abject failure.
Feylord was gifted with an above average Mana Pool, which he had increased since childhood, but his talent was mediocre in comparison to the true geniuses.
Genetically, he inherited the ability to freely use Pyromancy, but that wasn’t enough to categorize him as a true talent.
Even with little sleep and incessant training, his improvements were up to the standards.
“What a shitty world.” He cursed as his eyes reflected the spark of flames hovering above his index.
“The Phoenix Feather. I’ll get it… no matter the cost.”
The sunlight poured into the cozy room, providing warmth and illumination.
The parasite sat up like a robot and stretched his limbs. Even after resting for three hours and hunting all day long, he felt refreshed and strong.
The Blue Blossom Forest East of the campus was riddled with strong beasts, making the hunting process easy.
In contrast, when he had spent a whole month empowering himself, Arthur had to spend hours looking for strong beasts. Chasing after Wild Boars or deers was a total waste of time as they rewarded him with pitifully low stats, which weren’t worth the time.
In addition, Arthur obtained quite a bit of new skills, but only one was usable in a human-type host.
As its name suggested, [Flexibility] rendered Arthur’s body highly-flexible and light, thus allowing for acrobat-like movements. Although it wasn’t explicitly mentioned by the System, Arthur also felt physically stronger.

The best thing about the skill was that it was a passive effect, meaning that it literally cost nothing. It was a bonus advantage that further enhanced the parasite’s fighting capabilities.
“No wonder parasites are abhorred. Even in a single year, one can grow to astronomical heights… given the chance, that is.”
It has been around 7 months since Arthur got transported to this foreign world. Although he didn’t strictly focus on possessing corpses non-stop, he was nonetheless pleased with his progress.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the cafeteria, Arthur headed to the training facility for the Third Year Students.
Today, he was going to ‘teach’ the Third Year students, who would definitely voice more opposition towards his abrupt employment.
Third Year students had passed the age of puberty and learned how to properly manipulate magic and be responsible.
When he entered the facility and saw the students grouped together and giving him inquisitive and cursory glances, Arthur smiled.
They were calmer than the first years of yesterday, but what interested Arthur was the presence of some familiar faces.
‘She must’ve known that from the get-go.’ He inwardly thought as he saw Nader Coach and Verno, the former as solitary as ever, and the latter chatting with his ‘friends’ nonchalantly.
“Oh?”
Amongst the students, Arthur noticed an eye-catching female student with straight and long silver hair. She bore a striking resemblance to the Demon Lady. But, unlike Lucy, this one was much younger and had an arrogant and indifferent expression.
Meanwhile, the Demon Lady Arthur had met had a pair of chillingly cold eyes and a dangerous aura.
‘I heard that there were Demons in the academy, but this one is my first.’
It was no secret that the Demon Race was in a never-ending war with the Humans, but the Nemia Academy discouraged discrimination and racism.
It was a neutral territory, very much like the Desert of Commerce and Peace. However, there was a noticeable scarcity of Beastmen and Elves, much less Demons.
Before he could introduce himself, the silver-haired girl walked forward and, with a clarion voice, declared,
“I challenge you to a duel, teacher.”
Her declaration didn’t surprise her classmates, who looked eager to see Khalil’s reaction.
Unfortunately, their new teacher merely chuckled and shook his head.
“Not happening.” He then took out a piece of paper and checked the names of each student before beginning to pair them together for sparring.
By the time he was done, all of them were at the same spot, giving him strange looks.
“Did you not hear me or are you simply deaf? You will be sparring against each other.”
“Teacher!”
Verno raised his hand and stepped forward, a sly smile plastered on his face.
“You can’t treat us like rookies. Professor Jimmy used to spar with us and give us pointers.”
‘Indeed, he’s as arrogant as he looks. I think it will be easy.’
Arthur contained his smile and, with a serious face, looked at Verno, who was grimacing provocatively.
“Pointers? I’m afraid I will hurt you.”
“Hahaha! Don’t worry about us, teacher! We're in our third years!”
“Is that so?” With a hesitant expression, Khalil pondered for a bit as he swept his gaze across all 20 students. Nader seemed disinterested in the whole affair, the silver-haired’s eyes were burning with passion as she wanted to fight, and Verno clearly was asking for trouble.
“Since you’re all so adamant on following my instructions, I suppose it can’t be helped.”
The parasite motioned for Verno to come closer as he stated,
“For the first lesson, if it can even be called that, I’ll spar with all of you. Hopefully, for the next lesson, you will have learned how to act.”
“Sure, teacher. Whatever you sa-”
Before Verno could even finish talking, the parasite appeared in front of him. A large hand held his head and smashed him against the ground.
The force behind the attack was so monstrous that the youth was knocked unconscious on the spot, foam and saliva was leaking out of his half-open mouth.
“Next.”
The students were speechless to see the teacher show no mercy and attack before the spar even began.
“What?” Seeing their shocked expressions, Arthur shrugged, “Were you expecting a countdown? I thought you were all capable Third years and whatnot? Come on, next.”
The silver-haired girl charged at him with remarkable speed and lifted her leg, swinging her leg in arc. Much to her surprise, Arthur raised his hand and caught her leg.
She tried to retaliate by using her other leg but she couldn’t shake off his hand. In the end, like a ragdoll, her body was smashed to the ground.
Unlike Verno, she kept her senses and managed to leap back to safety. Alas, the teacher didn’t give her the time to think as fist struck her chest and sent her flying to the back.
Still, she got back to her feet but Arthur turned his eyes to the remaining students and, while grinning, signaled for another to attack.
In truth, Arthur was neither a martial artist nor an expert in close-quarter combat. However, he had a tenacious and monstrously strong body, which was able to deal with the students with ease.
He was even able to match the Dean’s absurd physical prowess, so the likes of Verno and the Demon weren't in any trouble.
Despite being a spy, Verno didn’t necessarily have to be extremely strong. He just had to be good at infiltrating organisations and procuring information without arising any suspicion.
‘Nevertheless, he is stronger than the average third-year student. Same goes for her… Teresa Moon, was it? If I remember correctly, Moon was the surname of the Demons’ Royal family.’
