《The Legacy of Gilgamesh》Chapter 17 Sentient Life (3)

Under Rico's watch, these new humans all landed on the grassland. They soon awoke to a vast and unfamiliar world, expressing confusion and uncertainty.
But their confusion was short-lived as Rico descended upon them, radiating an aura of glory and power. Clad in a shining white robe with golden trim, his black hair flowed like a river of ink and his skin was as pale as the snow on the mountain tops.
He looked upon his children with a gaze of benevolent wisdom, and for one week, he showed them the ways of the land, teaching them which fruits to pick, which animals to hunt, and which plants to avoid.
He showed them how to make fire, how to build shelter, and how to protect themselves from the dangers of the wild. And with a final glance, he disappeared into the horizon, leaving them to thrive in the world he had created for them. But his legacy lived on, as the people of Gaia would forever remember the glorious Rico, the creator and protector of humanity.
As the decades passed, the people of Gaia remembered their creator fondly. Rico, a being of radiant who was said to be surrounded by a misty light.
They wondered where he had gone, and why he had left them.
An old man sat beneath a tree, his late years upon him. Wearing little more than a leather waistband, he was entranced by the aroma of a fruit that had fallen from the branches above. The fruit was shaped like a star, and as he picked it up, he couldn't help but think of Rico.
Rico had created the first human beings in the Gaia world with great care and consideration. He had chosen a place with abundant fruit resources, so that his creations would never have to suffer from hunger.

He had also made sure that there were no dangerous carnivores, so that they could live in peace and safety for centuries to come. Rico's foresight had been extensive, and his creations flourished in the land he had chosen for them.
As the first settlers took root in the fertile plains, they thrived on the bountiful resources provided by the land.
From a small group of just a hundred individuals, they quickly began to multiply. Over the centuries, their numbers swelled to thousands, then tens of thousands, as they spread across the central plain.
Time seemed to fly by, with a week of earth time passing like the blink of an eye. Generations came and went, each leaving behind their own unique contributions to the burgeoning civilization.
As the millennia passed, the people of the plain grew more prosperous and advanced, their population reaching ever-greater heights. Though they could not have known it at the time, it would take more than a dozen generations, almost a thousand years, for their civilization to reach its peak. And yet, even as they prospered, they never forgot their humble origins, and the creator who had given them life.
Practice and research have shown that when the availability of food is abundant, the rate of human reproduction is remarkably fast. Rico's concerns regarding the potential for genetic diseases from inbreeding among a small population were unfounded.
It is believed that this is due to the perfection of their human form, which was created from the Origin, a source of genetic superiority that surpasses that of Earth's human. The exact reason for this is not entirely understood.
Despite this, Rico chooses not to delve too deeply into the matter at present, instead focusing on the known facts. As long as the human civilization in Gaia continues to flourish, Rico is content. Over time, the population growth has led to the development of a sophisticated and advanced civilization.

In a brief period, these primitive humans, known as Sons of Gaia, devised shelters constructed from branches and fashioned rudimentary garments and cave paintings using plant fibers as brushes and animal hides as material. As their numbers swelled and communication barriers emerged, these early humans developed their own unique dialects over time.
As they continued to thrive, these ancient humans began to develop more advanced tools and techniques for hunting and gathering food.
Rico found great amusement in the notion that these humans, began to venerate various deities. Such a practice was not uncommon among primitive societies, as they often sought to appease and propitiate various mysterious forces that they could not comprehend, such as the elements, natural phenomena and the cycle of birth and death.
But in the world of Gaia, these humans worshiped a singular, divine being, often depicted as a powerful and handsome figure with a chiseled countenance. It was said that by offering sacrifices and performing rituals in his honor, they believed that they could gain favor and blessings from this powerful god, and Rico couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of these early humans trying to understand the complexities of the world through the lens of religion, and he as their God.
However, as the population grew to reach one hundred thousand and another five hundred years passed, Rico was taken aback by a disturbing development.
These primitive humans, driven by a desperate need to secure sustenance, began to divide into separate factions and engage in fierce battles against one another. These conflicts were brutal and merciless, with the victors seizing all resources from the defeated, leaving them to either starve to death or becoming food for the conquerors.
The emergence of cannibalism was particularly distressing for Rico, as it went against the natural order of things and the moral codes of these early humans. It was a gruesome and heartbreaking sight, and Rico couldn't help but feel a sense of disgust and anger at the senseless violence and suffering that was taking place. He knew that he had to act quickly to put an end to this cycle of violence before it was too late.
Rico, with the power of a god, could not stand idly by as the human civilization he had nurtured for so long, devolved into such a barbaric and savage state. The thought of his creation, descending into a cycle of senseless violence and cannibalism, filled him with a sense of revulsion and anger. He knew that he had to intervene in their affairs, to steer them back onto the path of enlightenment and progress.
If he so wishes Rico could have descended upon the human realm, wielding his divine power with a sense of righteous fury. He would have smote the warlords and tyrants who had risen to power through bloodshed and subjugated the weak, and set the world on fire with his rage and his light, but that was not truly him. As a researcher first he would see how this have come to be and find a way to deal with this disaster.

Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
