Tides Of Protomis CXVI
Orbital Dominance Battle - Jirou Vs Ghemzaan
At the moment, Jirou still found himself facing down his opponent. Fists locked against each other, and each ready to strike.
“This situation isn’t the best… But it isn’t like I haven’t been ambushed before.” Jirou leaped backward, and created some distance between the two, before attempting to leap back in. But it seemed this attack was ill-fated from the start. It felt as if some sort of invisible force threw him off course as soon as he attempted to leap forth, leaving him open to an attack, and Ghemzaan was more than willing to take the opportunity. Rushing in and slamming a fist into his stomach, before slamming an elbow into the top of his head, sending him into the ground below. He prepared to go for another strike, but before he could slam his fist into the ground, his opponent pushed gravitons outward, and flew from his current spot with a quickness.
The yakuza did not get any respite, however, as he was followed. Another attack fell, a strike aimed at his chest. It hit dead center, and disoriented him, for a moment, and it did not take long for another to come, launching him back into the ground. Had a quick burst of Gravitons not kept him up. An attempt to strike back resulted in his fist being intercepted, a Feint strike was sent forth, and quickly retracted, only for his true intent, a kick aimed at the demon’s side to come next. But it became clear he’d anticipated that attempt, when his foot was caught within. And the creature jabbed an elbow into the side of said leg, causing a crack to sound, Eliciting a grunt from Jirou. But the Yakuza striked again, shoving his hand forth, and shouting out.
“G-Press, Formula 10!” No sooner was ghemzaan forced to release his grip, and slammed into the ground by the change in gravity. Jirou looked down upon his opponent with squinted eyes.
“If there’s anything that exchange told me, it’s that this won’t be easy… His physical strength is on another level, It looks like i’ll have to make this a ranged battle and stop him from Afar…”
As for his opponent on the ground, he was already forming a strategy of his own. This force that was pressing down upon him, he recognized it, one known as gravity… But if that were the case, than he would simply need to dispel what was holding him down. And to that end, a wave of spinning energy was sent outward… And in an instant, Jirou’s eyes widened, as he took note of what had just taken place.
“It was just like it was with that Zeta guy. Just what am I dealing with?” Regardless, it seemed that he would have to gain the answer to his inquiry during battle, it wasn’t as if his opponent was going to spell out how his abilities worked. With his influence pushed outward, Jirou lifted some of the large “Trees” As well as large chunks of earth from around him, and launched them toward his opponent with well-placed strikes of the fist, applying heavier gravity upon each punch… But it seemed that such an attack was ill-fated. As they seemingly began spinning, and in but a moment, were already rushing back to him. And before he was able to halt their course, just like the objects he sent, he was soon spinning as well. Unable to stop his own weapons from colliding with him. The variety of impacts caused him to spit out blood.

He was not finished just yet, sending a wave of gravitational force outward, forcing the objects away, and ascending. But his attempt to retaliate was stopped by what came next. A wave of force rippling through his body, and carrying him away within its currents. Once again, he was left trapped in the wake of yet another enemy attack. And by now, freckles of blood began to appear on his body, as the damages made themselves evident. If he was going to figure out just how this technique worked, he would need to do so soon.
…
Farther away, the group the Yakuza entered the realm with, were at current, still awaiting his return. By this point, there were some mummers of impatience among the demonic army hyperion brought with him. Just what was taking that last human so long, and why did they have to wait any longer. The human members of the group themselves, were much thinking about the latter more than the former, by no small margin, of course.
“Something isn’t right… He hasn’t taken this long, even when he disappeared beforehand.” Arctaius commented.
“Then what is it, do you think he might’ve gotten caught up in something?” Alarick questioned.
“Given most of our experience since we got here, it probably isn’t good…. If anything, I suggest we start searching around a-” Gilga suddenly paused, as his eyes shot to his left.
“I sense a powerful demon ,that way…” The Holy order Councillor stated.
“And I sense Jirou’s Protomis. Looks like it’s pretty clear what's happening here.. Le’ts get moving!” Alarick shouted. And they did just that, beginning to shoot off toward the battle taking place. In the meanwhile, Jirou’s struggle had not gotten any easier. Still finding himself caught within the stream of attacks, and unable to move…. But as his eyes finally re-focused, he took note of something, how the force moved, in a tightly knit ring, with the space within seeming mostly untouched… Things were starting to come together, somewhat, but he wasn’t out of the woods yet. For the time being, he forced himself into the center of the circle, were he wasn’t being repetedly battered. Eventually, the Demon would move in on him once more, nothing his escape. Before Jirou knew it, the demon appeared in front of him.. But he did not attack directly, Nay, he tried something else.
“Sphere of Izaak…” Before Jirou knew it, he was being hit from both sides, the demon using the ring of force to rapidly move around him.
“Dammit… He’s using the momentum to increase his power… I need to get out of his range, and soon!”
Jirou shoved himself forward with a burst of gravitons, attempting to break contact, but apparently, it wouldn’t be quite so easy. In but a few moments, the man found himself being hit with a right hook on his cheek, a straight landing on his stomach, a kick to his side. One which finally caused him to fall… The man found himself questioning how a skeleton had this amount of physical strength, but regardless of how, he would need to contend with it… He would need to put all the facts together, and find a way to stop that spinning attack first, but first, he would need to figure out just how it worked…
Apparently, more ammo appeared in the form of yet another ring forming around him…. And, it was only then, that it came to him.
“There’s something that’s been consistent with all of these attacks… A ring of force, around a point of origin… This is elementary. He’s manipulating Centrifugal force. Keeping me within a stream of high velocity particles, of his own energy most likely… If i allow him to keep going as he does, then I’ll get nowhere-”

His thought was cut off by the subject rushing down toward him, attempting to slam a fist into the small of his back, one that he managed to avoid, though narrowly.
“Enough running, it will change nothing!”
Jirou launched himself upward, creating distance between them once more.
“We’ll see about that, Demon!” The demon closed the distance once more, and began launching off attacks. Jirou himself continued attempts to hold him back, pressing successively higher amounts of gravity down upon him. Only for the demon to rebound, and continue his attack moments after. While this took place, eventually, his allies arrived behind him, just in time to see the tail end of the battle. What they took note of especially, were Jirou’s injuries… No doubt, he sensed their arrival as well. There was certainly an urge to jump in and handle the situation, but apparently, the man sensed that, and outright stated.
“I can handle this…” Jirou stated, much to their confusion.
“What do you mean, “Handle this”... You haven’t made any true advancements since this battle began!”
Though his strikes hit their target, and he was able to avoid any strikes fired back at him, their seemed to be a certain glint of confidence in the human’s expression. If he was capable of frowning, then such an expression certainly would’ve made its way onto his visage. Regardless, it would seem that he’d just have to eliminate him regardless.
“I’ll get rid of you, and return to my siblings… That simple.” The demon began putting out his influence once more, ready to catch his opponent within the stram, and finally tear him asunder… And yet, even with his statement, Jirou was nonplussed. Especially knowing his opponent was none the wiser to his strategy. In short order, Jirou began to push gravitons out of himself… Before, deepening his control over them, making them spin around him. And it didn’t take very long for Ghemzaan’s attack to be stopped.
“What?!” He shouted in confusion. Nobody had been able to stop his attack wholesale, survive it was one thing, but to essentially erase it entirely, just what was going on here?
“I know what your ability is. You manipulate centrifugal force, and put particles within to attack your opponents, or boost your own momentum… But then, I noticed something as well, something I should’ve known given what I studied…” On the sidelines, it came to them as well, what the Yakuza was doing, and how he’d done that act.
“Centrifugal force can be affected by gravity…. He’s countering Ghemzaan’s attack by creating a wheel of Gravitons around himself.” Liang commented. Arctaius nodded.
“It won’t exactly secure victory, but at the least, it tht makes it easier…”
Now, without being distrubed, he could make full use of his repertoire, enhancing his own strikes through gravity, and mabye even… That was it!
“Alright, let’s try this!”
Gravitons flared up around Jirou once more, placing ghemzaan in the path of the invisible particles. And in a moment, a fist was formed, and cocked back, The man was propelled forward by the resulting burst of energy, using the gravitons to carry him toward his opponent. Ghemzaan looked upon this with widened eyes, and the aptly made technique’s name was shouted out.
“Gyro Onslaught!” the moment the fist was sprung forward, the gravity pressed upon it increased, and the attempted strike hit true, with a great snap echoing from the skeletal demon’s bones, as he was sent backward. This development was unexpected, no doubt, but it didn’t mean his battle against this human was over. In a few short moments, an orbital ring was created, both himself and his opponent within it. And in tandem, as if he’d sensed it a well, Jirou forged one.. And in a few short moments, they were on a collison course, using their respective abillities to gain the advantage. But as they clashed, this ony resulted in an explosion of force that nearly demolished the area around them.
“Hashimoto’s got this, no doubt… That demon is strong, but can he keep up if Jirou keep’s stacking Gs’ on, is the question…”
“Worst case scenario, he’s outnumbered…” Miyamoto added.
The two fighters themselves continued ot push against each other, with no advancements made by either side….
“I need to push myself farther, otherwise, my siblings will certainly lose their life because of my failure… I can’t allow that, I WON’T allow that! You’re gonna have to die, here!”
“What do I need to win this? Strengthen the stream, increase the fields around my arms, both? Whatever it is, I shall figure it out…There’s no way I’m letting you run rampant in my home, not my pops, not even those gus he insists on making follow me!”
This was not only a battle of influence, but a battle of wills. As Jirou pushed the being back a bit, he only responded by increasing the amount of force on his side, only to be met with Jirou increasing his own… An idea had popped up, an Jirou’s head, and he could only hope that this much gravity in that small bubble wouldn't reduce his arms to a paste.
“Formula… 150!” The words were strained, but they came out, and it seemed that was just the push he needed… As soon enough, his opponent's guard was demolished, and multiple cracks echoed outward, and the creature’s body was being torn apart…. At this moment, at his end, many thoughts ran through Ghemzaan’s head. How he’d been one of the last members of his speies, how he’d made the vow to protect his siblings, rebuild their numbers, continue the Tzchm Legacy, of archiving, and return to the land they came from.
“It seems I've failed you… Kilesia, Dhutim, Ismal, I’m sorry… Hopefully you’ve decided upon making your escape by now. I may not be able to touch those shores again, but you will… It seems foolish enough to ask this human, but if he bested me, he may very wel have a chance…”
Jirou landed in front of his opponent, who was dangerous, no doubt, it seemed as if his localized burst of gravity had the adverse effects he expected it would, much to his chagrin.
“Human…” The yakuza perked up at the question, and looked toward the creature, who was currently undergoing the very same phenomenon Gilga explained. And this much was witnessed by not only himself, but the ones he called his allies. It seemed he would be able to tell all of them at once, that only worked better for him.
“Sigma’s keep… It is directly north of here. Do something for me… It is there that you will find him, he only leaves very rarely, to speak with General Zeta…” The group looked upon this with confusion.
“You’re telling us outright, but what do you gain from that?!” Miyamoto questioned, her confusion clear.
“It’s simple… I want the one known as Sigma gone. In his possession, he has three of my beloved family members, and in exchange for their life, I was to fight for him…. But with my failure, they will doubtlessly be eliminated, if they haven’t left on their own. Do what I could not, at least, do that…” One among them stepped forward, one who was more than experienced with such tactics, being the reason he even ended up being within this group. Yu Liang kneeled as he made his way to the Demon.
“Mark my words… I will make sure it happens… I once had a sister in the very same situation, used as a tool to make sure I kept fighting for another’s cause. If I may prevent such a thing from happening to another, then I will.”
By this point in time, the demon was nearly gone, his skull the last part that hadn’t fully been dissipated, only two more words came from the being’s mouth..
“Thank… You…”
Ghemzaan met his end, right there… Among them, there were two in particular who felt this goal was especially important now. Jirou, the one who ended him, and Liang, who related to his plight… The two never talked to each other much, but it seemed that this would connect them, even if a bit. A nod from Jirou, and a nod from Liang. Their words were silent, but an apparent agreement was made. They’d work significantly harder to improve their strength…
“Alright… Let’s get moving.” Jirou stated. Aside from his new goal, perhaps, he found a certain insight into the technique he was trying to create. Hopefully, it would prove to be the boon to their combat ability as he expected it would, but they’d simply have to see. Regardless, it seemed the others agreed with his idea of getting back into the action. Just behind them, Gilga and Hyperion followed.
“So, it looks like the generals ain’t exactly trying to make friends, eh?” Gilga questioned. Hyperion only shrugged his shoulders in response to his query.
“What can I say, more about submission than cooperation among a lot of demons.” Hyperion responded.
“Seems consistent with what we’ve learned so far,, then… No reason to dwell upon it, I guess. Might as well give the guy his last wish and go after Sigma… Helps that we were already doing so.” The armored demon had nothing to say to that, and so, their conversation ended there.
