《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 125: Some People Just Cannot Follow The Rules It Would Seem

MSC Zalroth stood on the edge of the frozen hallway as Lola and Yokuza arrived next to him. MSC glanced back at the duo before looking downwards. MSC Zalroth raised a hand before marble blocks from the surroundings floated through the air and arranged themselves into a spaced-out staircase leading to a large white cube.
"This way," MSC Zalroth said before bursting into a cloud of pale banana-yellow magic sand. The cloud of magic sand spiralled down the staircase before regathering around the front of the large white and reforming into MSC Zalroth.
"Heh he, just like in MMORPGs" Lola muttered playfully.
"What is?" Yokuza asked confusedly.
"Well in MMORPGs, apparently due to how many people are playing at the same time instead of having NPCs walking around they just teleport the NPCs instead," Lola explained. Yokuza rubbed his forehead before following behind Lola as she rolled up into her tails and bounced down the staircase.
Lola and Yokuza arrived at the base of the staircase and looked up at the top of the small building-sized white cube.
"This is a multi-time cube-" MSC Zalroth said before Lola interrupted him.
"Hey, no hints!" Lola proclaimed angrily. MSC Zalroth stood quietly as Lola worriedly apologised for shouting out of the blue
"Right... well, this is where we part ways as I shouldn't enter this kind of magic artifact," MSC Zalroth stated.
"Why's that?" Yokuza asked.
"No spoilers, remember?" MSC Zalroth stated. A door-sized hole appeared on the large white cube before Lola immediately bolted in, catching Yokuza off guard. Yokuza quickly ran in after Lola before the door closed behind him. MSC Zalroth placed his fists together and closed his eyes as he turned away from the large white cube.
"It appears my originator is in higher spirits today," MSC Zalroth thought aloud as he heard faint fluttering wings near his ear. He glanced to his side and saw the tiny tanned adult fae with demi-mothion features fluttering next to his head. (the fae has long perpetually scruffy and razor-sharp hair, right half of her hair is a glittering gold colour and her left half is silver colour, bronze coloured eyes, fuzzy glittering gold coloured (left) and silver (right) fur which covers the lower half of her body], and four large wings made of the same material as her fur[top right and lower left are glittery gold colour, and upper left and lower right are silver coloured]; she's wearing a pink Candy Catz themed hoodie (it has cat ears and cat paw mittens))
"What is it, Valina?" MSC Zalroth asked before he closed his eyes and looked forward.
"Two groups of adventurers are fighting in sector seven over some transforming car mech thing," Valina said emotionlessly with a neutral expression.
"Understood," MSC Zalroth stated. Valina sat on MSC Zalroth's shoulder before he floated off the floating ground and flew away.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Delver's Springs, Lumios strolled down the space between one of the many lined-up bookshelves of the marble cathedral as a light shone through the massive circular coloured-glass window mural on the wall above the splitting staircase.
"To think a recreation of the Heavenly Heroes Cathedral in Aioniotita...," Lumios remarked as he removed one of the books from its shelf only to see it was just a block of marble.
"Shame none of the books are real, especially since the original cathedral was burnt down," Lumios commented quietly as Destiny, Kara, Yumi, and Prima caught up to him.
"Cathedral? I thought this was just an old library," Prima commented. Lumios quietly chuckled as he turned to the group.
"Cathedrals commonly have libraries in them, it's just this one used to be mostly a library given it was the knowledge-focused cathedral of the six cathedrals dedicated to the Heavenly Heroes," Lumios explained.
"Why's that, brother?" Destiny asked.
"Because like one is, all the Gods of Knowledge and Truth are from The Floating Continent of Kalikose, Destiny," Kara stated as she sat atop the mana platform created by the open Chronicle Codex. Destiny stared at Kara in amazement at hearing that factoid about the incarnates of Knowledge and Truth.
"Woah, really? What a coincidence," Destiny cheerfully said. Kara and Lumios exhaustedly shook their heads at Destiny's comment.
"I wouldn't call it a coincidence given all god incarnates are born in the same continent as where the Heavenly Heroes were respectively from," Lumios stated mockingly. Destiny tilted her head at Lumios while loudly huhing at him.
"But... Father, me and Mr Zulcresto are from Zelkio, right?" Destiny asked. Lumios shook his head while sighing in unsurprised astonishment.
"Father's from the Knighthrall Continent, and mother mentioned you were born in a hospital in the Hinoramita Continent, Destiny," Lumios stated. Destiny nodded before looking over at Kara.
"Say Kara, what about the God of Time and Order, and the God of Life and Creation; where are their incarnates born from?" Destiny asked.
"Unsure... given those respective god incarnates have remained the same for thousands of years," Kara stated as a small baby dragon version of Tokubaiyashi slept next to Kara on the floating mana platform. Destiny looked perplexedly to her left before back at Kara.
"Wait... does that mean Ms Chronia is like really, really, really, reeeaaally old?" Destiny asked perplexedly. Lumios and Kara placed a hand on their faces while disapointedly groaning.
"Did you just realize that?" Lumios uttered as he shook his head.
"It's going to take forever to find the right book, and why do they have to cost so many Moriochi Tokens to unlock them!" an agitated gruff voice shouted from elsewhere in the recreation of the Heavenly Heroes Cathedral made of marble. Lumios glanced down at the book-shaped block of marble in his hand.

"Why didn't I think of that?" Lumios muttered before shaking the marble block, and a hologram of the letter M appeared on the cover of the marble block.
"They weren't kidding when they said they were expensive," Prima remarked snarkily.
"But... it letter...," Yumi uttered as she pointed at the letter.
"It's Roman Numerals," Lumios stated. Lumios took out a Moriochi Token with a small M on it and placed the coin on the marble block. The coin melted into the marble block, and it shone brightly. The light dispersed revealing the transformed block to be a highly detailed book with dragon detailing and a title in an unknown language.
"... ... ...." the group stared at the book in silence before looking at Lumios.
"What does it say?" Destiny asked while poking Lumios' hand. Lumios stared at the book's title while slightly tilting his head.
"I dunno, why don't you ask the girl who knows every language," Lumios remarked. Destiny blinked before glancing over at Kara as she had a smug grin on her face while rubbing her nose.
"So, Princess. What is the book called, if you grace us with such information," Lumios asked regally.
"Step By Step Guide To Creating A Perfect Humoculous," Kara stated confidently. Everyone makes various surprised awe noises while Lumios sighed disapointedly.
"Why the long face, Prince?" Prima asked while placing her fists on her hips.
"I was hoping for something a little more in my field... besides, I'm sure I saw this in Magistrate Calloukous' study," Lumios said defeatedly.
"Which volumes?" Prima asked. Lumios looked at the book and rolled his eyes upon remembering he couldn't read it before showing the book to Kara again.
"This is the third volume," Kara stated.
"Oh... I think I overheard her saying she had this one on her when she was travelling to Lumios City before it got destroyed," Lumios remarked before placing a hand on his chin.
"Give... book to Yoku and Saph... please," Yumi said while she nibbled on a block of marble. Prima yoinked the marble chunk out of Yumi's mouth and chucked it away, followed by the sounds of faint muttering being heard.
"I think what Yumi was trying to say was, maybe you should give it to Yokuza and Sapphire so they can give it to Mama as an apology for breaking the original one," Prima stated. Lumios gazed at the book before shrugging and handing the book to Prima.
"Could you give it to them for me then?" Lumios requested as he tensed his right hand's fingers and cracked all of them, causing the others to look at his hand. Lumios balled up his fist before slamming his foot against the floor, and the area directly below the group transformed into magigold(luminescent gold). Lumios raised a single finger, and a wall of magic gold sprung up from the magicgold floor before a speeding fireball slammed into the magigold wall and shot off at a perfect ninety-degree angle.
Lumios slammed the back of his fist against the magigold wall, forcing it to burst apart and reform into multiple bowling ball-sized spheres. Lumios glared at the wizard within the large group of adventurers with enough wrath to force the adventurers' minds to go blank. Lumios' right eye flickered a pale grey, and his left eye flickered a Persian green for a second as his aggravated glare became more murderous every second he looked upon the adventurers.
"...big bro?" Destiny uttered worriedly as she tugged on Lumios' shoulder. For a second, Lumios didn't respond and continued to stare down the adventures before he swung his head to Destiny with a positive expression.
"Do not concern yourself, my golden-hearted sister; it appears these ruffians wish to rough house, so why don't you and the others head to the second floor and watch from a distance while I entertain them," Lumios stated while giving Destiny a half-forced smile. Destiny gave Lumios an awkward smile while nervously giggling.
"O-o-ok...," Destiny stuttered before she warped herself, Kara, Yumi, and Prima to the second floor using her god of space power, signified by the trail of pale pink qi between their original location and their new location. Destiny worriedly peeked over the bannister of the second floor and watched Lumios as the others looked at her.
"Brother's got his scary persona...," Destiny uttered. Prima and Yumi glanced at each other confusedly.
"Perso... what?" Yumi said puzzledly. Kara cleared her throat to get the sisters' attention.
"Destiny's referring to the side effect from an... incident... the prince was in which caused his ego to be damaged," Kara stated.
"Oh... must be rough," Prima uttered as the group watched Lumios from a safe distance. Kara closed her eyes at Prima's lukewarm and even cold-hearted response to the prince's condition.
Lumios' right hand twitched and jolted uncontrollably before he clenched it to get it under control.
"And to think I was getting them under control....". Lumios sighed sombrely. Lumios gritted his teeth as the spheres of magigold morphed into large arrow-shaped spears.
"But I might as we let my Battle Ego... scratch its itch," Lumios uttered as he rubbed his eyes. Lumios opened his eyes and stared down the adventurers as the light faded from his eyes until they seemed lifeless. Lumios raised a hand to the adventures and gestured for them to attack. The adventurers shook their heads as they seemed to snap out of their shocked states. The adventurers looked around before spotting Lumios taunting them and immediately getting into combat stances.
