Very carefully I focus on a section of Lin's mana channels and try to enhance it. Not only do I widen the channel, but I build up and strengthen the channel itself. It all goes smoothly, so I continue enhancing the rest of the mana channels.

My mana is guiding the changes, but the energy for the actual changes is coming from Lin. Thinking of that, I don't want to make too many changes at once, but I think I can do one more. So, I turn my attention to Lin's mana pool and start enhancing it.

To my surprise, Lin's mana pool expands easily under my manipulation. That means that her potential as a mage hasn't been expended yet. With how powerful she already is, that is really impressive, she already has more mana than I do.

She is going to have even more now that her mana pool has been enhanced. Once the mana pool won't grow anymore, I turn my attention to strengthening it. With the mana pool strengthened it should still be able to grow more in the future.

"Does anything hurt? How do you feel?"

Lin says "No, nothing hurts. In fact, it felt really good! Although, I am really hungry!

"That's no surprise, your body used a lot of energy."

I start taking food out of my pouch, which summons Nala and Albion over. As soon as I put out the first dish, Lin attacks it and starts stuffing food into her mouth. Even Nala and Albion look surprised when Lin gets to the food faster than them.

Considering how quickly she is eating, I keep pulling out more and more dishes. Soon the entire area of the floor around us is covered in food of all types. The four of us eat enough food to feed ten people or more, but it is mostly Lin and I.

Nala and Albion are eating normally, Lin on the other hand is eating like she is starving. What is most surprising is that she eats almost as much as I do before she stops. Only after she finishes eating does she seem to realize what she did and she blushes.

Lin says "I apologize for my lack of manners."

"Does this look like a banquet hall? You are eating with three beasts, you don't need to apologize. Do you at least feel better now?"

Lin says "I feel full, but I also feel really tired."

"That is no surprise. I have no idea what time it is, but you should go ahead and get some sleep. Unfortunately, I doubt the crafters have had enough time to make the mattress for the bed."

Lin says "I am not sure what time it is either. The storm made it hard to keep track of the time. I will be fine, I will just cuddle with Nala and Albion."

"Alright."

Without another word Lin curls up between Nala and Albion, she falls asleep almost instantly. However, her short dress isn't meant to be slept in, I get a great view. I also find out that the human kingdoms are advanced enough to have come up with underwear.

To avoid the temptation, I quietly get up and leave the cabin, but I get blinded. The sky is clear and the sun is up, it looks to be about eleven in the morning. The deck of the ship is crowded with elves, they probably wanted some fresh air after the storm.

I look around the deck, then give a nod to the guards, and head up the stairs to the bridge. When I get to the bridge I find a sailor steering and Brightfire is the one in charge. Stillwater is probably resting, dealing with the storm must have been exhausted for him.

"Brightfire, have you already figured out where we are?"

Brightfire says "Yes, roughly. The storm blew us off course, we are about a day from the port city."

"That's not bad considering how fierce the storm was."

Brightfire says "Yeah, that was a wild ride. Let's not do it again though."

"Agreed. The ship almost didn't make it. Any sign of the human ships?"

Brightfire says "None. Do you think they could even survive the storm?"

"Probably not, but better safe than sorry."

Brightfire says "I will keep my eyes open."

"Good. Any issues I need to deal with?"

Brightfire says "Not that I know of. Since we escaped the storm everything has been quiet."

"Alright. Let me know if anything comes up."

Brightfire says "Will do."

With nothing else to do I head back to the cabin, but I enter quietly so I don't wake Lin. However, I can't stop myself from taking a look at her when I enter the room. I mean for it to be just a glance, but the view is so good that I stop and stare for a few minutes.

Luckily, she is sound asleep and doesn't wake up before I regain control of myself. I move over to the fire to check on Mulan, she is asleep still but the fire is a little low. After adding some coal I sit down and try to think of something to do to keep myself busy.

That's when I remember that I have some experiments I have been wanting to do. The best part is that I actually got permission and don't have to worry about getting in trouble. So, I use my mana to take the god gem out of my pouch and put it in front of me.

Then with the boost from the ring, I use Drain Touch without touching the gem. Surprisingly, I can feel the energy inside moving, but the gem is fighting against me. It doesn't cost me anything other than concentration so I just keep working at it.

After about five minutes I am finally able to drag a small orb of energy out of the gem. The orb is about the size of a golf ball, it is red and orange, and looks like a small sun. As soon as I pull it out of the orb, Mulan wakes up and looks over at it.

She then gets up and moves closer while making a cute chirping sound. It is obvious that she wants the orb, but I am worried about her being able to absorb all of it. So I grab hold of the orb with my mana and try to cut it in half, which works.

As soon as the orb is split it starts looking unstable, like it is going to explode. Mulan is right there so I direct half of the orb to her and the other half to the drake egg. Mulan happily gobbles down her half of the orb and almost instantly falls back asleep.

The other half is absorbed by the drake egg, but nothing happens that I can see. I check Mulan, but she is sound asleep and other than that she seems to be fine. Since that seems to have worked I go ahead and pull another orb out then I use Absorb on it.
