《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 1051 Dealing with the Empire Part 10

"You may need to consider tearing down some buildings and start construction of a new wall. Even if you wipe out all the nearby demonic beasts, there is a good chance more will come."
Almort says "Why do you say that?"
"Because I doubt that the demons will just sit still. Keep in mind that things have been quiet because the demons wanted to convince you that they were almost extinct. When they see their trap being destroyed they will probably make a move. We should wait to destroy the wall until you are fully prepared."
Almort says "That is a good idea, but it is also a risk. What if the demons realize that something is going on and detonate the wall? We can't guarantee that we got all of their spies."
"It will also be a risk not to have any walls. The council will need to weigh the risks and decide which way they want to do this."
Almort says "Alright. I will take this to the council and see what they decide. What are you going to do?"
"Well, there is nothing else I need to do here for now. So, I am going to return to the castle. Once the council makes its decision, let me know. I have figured out the spell so I can cast it whenever you want me to."
Almort says "Okay. Thank you. I will let you know as soon as the council makes a decision."
With that I take Lin with me and we find a restaurant to have some lunch. After we eat, Lin heads back to the library and I return to my workshop in the castle. Now I can finally finish assembling the two golems and find out if they work.
Or at least that was what I thought, but about an hour later I am disturbed yet again. This time it is the ambassador at the gate, so I head outside to see what he wants.

"Welcome, Ambassador. What can I do for you?"
Ambassador says "I am here to inform you that all of the elves have been gathered in the capital. We have also arranged for fifty prisoners who have been sentenced to death. We are ready whenever you are."
"Alright. I will leave in the morning and should arrive in the afternoon at the latest. Please warn your people that I will be in my normal form when I arrive. I will not be happy if I get shot at."
Ambassador says "Understood. I will inform them. We will lock the city down and do our best to make sure nothing goes wrong. Although, to be honest we do expect some people to try and make trouble during your visit."
"Just make sure you protect the elves. Me being attacked I can forgive, something happening to the elves won't be forgiven."
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Ambassador says "The elves are currently being housed in the palace and are under the protection of the Imperial Guard. They are as safe as we can make them. They are being well fed and cared for. However, some are not in the best of shape. That is not our doing, but the doing of their previous owners."
"Those previous owners should feel blessed that I don't have the time to track them down and give them the deaths they deserve."
Ambassador says "Some of them are already dead. They were killed when they tried to refuse the imperial order to hand over the slaves. If you really want the others dead, that can probably be arranged."
"Yes. I want those that abused the elves dead. What is the price?"
Ambassador says "I will check into it and get you an answer. That is not something that I can decide on my own. It will depend on if any of those people are important and what faction they are a part of."

"Alright. Thank you."
The ambassador leaves and I return to my workshop to work on the golems. Luckily, this time there are no more interruptions and I am able to finally finish the golems. Then I activate them and start running tests to look for any problems.
I have to go back and make some changes to the programming, but I was expecting that. In fact, I am pleasantly surprised that I don't have to completely reprogram them. I just have to fix a few things and put in some things that I forgot to add.
The link between the two of them actually works pretty well, but there is room for improvement. It was definitely a good idea to test it this way before trying to link a golem to the ship. I will have to be really careful about how I modify the ship's core, otherwise it could affect Athena.
In fact, it would probably be a good idea to make Jarvis first and link him to a golem. As an artificial spirit, it should be easier to correct any mistakes I make. That is assuming that I can make an artificial spirit with what I have learned so far.
I think I should be able to, but it is going to have to wait until I get back from the Empire. I don't want to start a new project and then have to stop in the middle of it. So, for now I set the two golems to go and start setting up the gardens.
Then I follow them and keep an eye on them to make sure nothing goes wrong. I copied the gardening information into them, now I just have to hope it works. At least they are using the tools properly and so far there are no problems with their joints.
There is one tool that I ended up making myself instead of buying, the watering can. That is because I wanted it to be ever full and to produce mana enriched water. Considering how special some of these plants are, I figured it was a good idea.
The golems fill the garden beds with soil and then start planting the seeds according to the blueprint I came up with. With the quality of the soil, I shouldn't need to add any fertilizer at the moment. However, it is something that I will need to acquire at some point soon.
I would prefer not to use normal fertilizer, but right now I am not sure what options I have. It is not the kind of thing I would normally have to think about, but the book says it is important. The waste from magical beasts is supposed to be the best, but I wasn't planning to keep animals.
Technically, mine and the kids' waste would work, but that would just be weird to me. I will have to wait and think of something later, or I will just have to use normal fertilizer. I am glad to see that the golem's movements are getting smoother as they work.
When I programmed them I knew that my knowledge wasn't good enough. So, I programmed them to learn on their own and improve themselves. Of course, it is limited, they can't make changes to their core programming.

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.

The Prince of the Sand
“Today you have to be the strongest man of all, son. After we deliver you, you will survive, and we will die.” When the Xalya Dungeon is about to fall under the attack of an alliance of savages, the last lord of the steppe entrusts his firstborn with a painful mission: Dashvara has to pass himself off as a member of an enemy clan, as a Shalussi, to exact revenge in a shameful way. Forced to see his people killed or enslaved, this heartbroken but still proud and humorous steppe man will soon be dragged in a surprising adventure that will shake his will and beliefs. This story follows Dashvara as he struggles through foreign lands and discovers that the world is not only made of deserts and horses but also of “civilized” societies with strong bureaucracy and slave-based systems. Author's note: The fantasy setting has some ancient Roman influences. Also, expect a bit of slice-of-life and comedy along Dashvara's philosophical journey. Despite the “gore” tag, violence is not the focus of this story and descriptions are not particularly gruesome. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a reworked and continued translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2016 and 2018.
