《Becoming God of a Dystopian World 》Chapter 196: Pi Hao's Turn

Zhao Luo was startled for a moment.
Feng Ma looked more drunk than usual, as he stared at Chu Ming and Ai Na, who were fighting on the stage.
Looking at him right now, Zhao Luo felt it hard to differentiate between his friend and a drunk pervert.
'It's understandable since he could be a solo, unlike me!'
Zhao Luo nodded at his thought.
'I already have Mo Anna.'
Zhao Luo glanced to his left and looking at the focused red eyes of Mo Anna, caused him to bloom with a calm smile.
'Boom.'
A sound of blast echoed out from the middle of the stage as Chu Ming and Ai Na.
Zhao Luo also looked at the stage and found Ai Na backing away after their last collision.
"She is winning."
Zhao Luo mumbled as his eyes were already good enough to know which disciple would be a good match for some other disciple.
On the stage.
Chu Ming closed in on Ai Na and suddenly rotated her body while jumping up.
"Ha."
A sound left her mouth as her spinning kick landed on Ai Na's two peaks, causing Ai Na to be pushed back.
Zhao Luo squinted his eyes.
'Isn't that a taekwondo move? The spin kick?'
He looked at Chu Ming who had used a kicking move while spinning with an enchanting style.
The fight continued.
Chu Ming was using high kicks which were as fast as lightning.
Chu Ming used her legs like a whip as she attacked Ai Na from different angles.
While Ai Na had responded somewhat well while she did defend against almost all of Chu Ming's strikes, she couldn't keep all of them in check.
Their battle was a battle of wits after Chu Ming's spinning kick had passed through Ai Na's defense and struck her chest.

The winner would obviously be someone who had a better defense as their offense was almost equal.
"The damage is building up."
Zhao Luo said as he looked at Ai Na who was breathing heavily. The tired look on her face showed that she was close to losing while Chu Ming, on the other hand, was looking fresh and unbattered.
"You have improved, little sister."
Ai Na praised Chu Ming while Chu Min tried her best to show a smile but couldn't.
"Thank you."
Chu Ming bowed her head and felt a little saddened that she had to fight her.
While her head was down, a voice entered her ears.
"I admit defeat!"
Ai Na announced to the Elder bringing the fight to an end.
'Nod.'
[ Chu Ming Advances to the 87th Rank! ]
"Clap."
A clapping sound that started slowly had turned into a thundering clap as the spectators showered her with their awe.
[ Will you continue to Battle? ]
After announcing the result, the elder asked her if she wanted to resume or end her run at this rank.
[ If you lose the next battle, you will still keep this rank unless someone challenges you from amongst them ]
The Elder explained to her as he pointed in Zhao Luo's direction.
Chu Ming shook her head and opened her mouth.
"I want to challenge the 80th disciple."
She declared the next disciple she would be challenging.
The elder announced the fight and the 80th disciple was notified.
The 80th disciple came up on the stage and their battle started.
But it didn't take long for this disciple to defeat Chu Ming.
Even though she lost, she had already become part of the top hundred outer disciples while Ai Na's ranking moved to 88th.

The only real loser of this fight was Mite.
"Shit! Now I am 89th."
Mite let out a cry from the side where he was standing.
After Chu Ming's one win and then the defeat, the other disciples were hopeful as they knew that they had a chance of winning too.
One after another from the 27th disciple to the 7th disciple, all lost miserably.
They had forgotten the reason behind Chu Ming's win.
Zhao Luo's instruction.
Zhao Luo who had been spectating all the fights was realizing many things.
"The disciples from 80s till 100 are good but there is a big difference in their strength and the ones in the 70s. They are as good as you Si Chen."
Zhao Luo told the others who were left namely, to his right were the four, that is, Feng Ma, Si Chen, Pi Hao, and Xiao Yu. While to his left was Mo Anna.
They were the only challengers left and it was already Pi Hao's turn.
Since it would be Si Chen's turn following Pi Hao's who was going on stage, Zhao Luo had been explaining to them about what they should remember while challenging one of the top 100 disciples.
"So if you challenge someone who is ranked between 60 and 70, you will have to give it your all and more. That will be the real challenge."
Zhao Luo finished speaking as Si Chen already understood what Zhao Luo meant by his words.
"Brother, I won't let you down."
Si Chen said to Zhao Luo as he little tapped his chest.
Si Chen decided that he would be going for someone who was in the 60s ranking.
"I know you won't."
Zhao Luo smiled and patted Si Chen's shoulder as he showed his confidence in Si Chen's abilities.
After Zhao Luo's short prep talk was over, they focused on Pi Hao's fight.
Pi Hao had challenged the disciple who was number 71 within the ranking of top hundred disciples.
The 71st disciple was using a sword.
'His sword is fast but also calm at the same time. He must have been swinging it since a very young age.'
Zhao Luo thought while watching the disciple swinging his sword at Pi Hao.
The disciple was using the sword like one would use his arm, showing his mastery in the sword.
'But obviously, Pi Hao is not that easy.'
Zhao Luo focused on Pi Hao as the fight on stage was entering an intense state.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.
