I Might Be A Fake Cultivator Chapter 1858

hapter 1858: Meeting the Heavenly Sea God Again
The two of them continued all the way down.
Lan Xiaoni summoned a film of golden water that created a suit of semi-transparent armor that encapsulated her body, keeping all potential energy attacks and even disruption of one’s consciousness at bay.
An Lin couldn’t even be bothered to take any defensive measures.
After absorbing the essential dao bone of the Heavenly True Immortal, his body was so powerful that even if he just stood still and allowed a Dao Integration Stage super mighty figure to rain attacks down upon him, they might still be unable to hurt him. It could be said that his skin was the ideal suit of armor.
After descending for a while, they were still unable to see the bottom. Even their divine sense was unable to detect the bottom. The light in the sky was being obscured by the forcefield, and it was getting darker and darker.
“This is where the two former High Priests of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe and Spirit Fish Clan, Xi Haizi and Tian Chenji were buried. Theoretically, we should have already arrived at the place of their burial, so why is there still nothing here?” Lan Xiaoni was confused.
“With the phenomenon that has taken place here, not only will the terrain be drastically transformed, even space will undergo peculiar changes. As such, it’s not too much of a surprise that we can’t see some things that were once here.” An Lin was not all that surprised.
The two of them were only confused, but they were not really fearful.
An Lin had no fear as he was very powerful, and Lan Xiaoni had no fear as An Lin was very powerful.
The two of them continued to descend further and further.
Within the hole, the sound of rushing water gradually disappeared.
Everything had also become pitch-black and deathly silent. This was a hole without any water, but An Lin and Lan Xiaoni both felt like they were submerged in water.

“There is an extremely pure power of water here…” Lan Xiaoni gently swept a hand through the darkness, and ripples surged toward infinity and beyond. “Aside from that, there are other liquids flowing in here.”
“The floating minerals are imbued with terrifyingly high levels of power, and there are many living beings that I do not recognize here, some of which strike fear into even my heart…”
An Lin looked around at their surroundings as a white light flashed through his eyes. “It’s quite possible that we have already entered a certain mystic realm…”
“How could that be?” Lan Xiaoni’s expression shifted slightly. “I didn’t detect any spatial fluctuations at all.”
“This shows that we’re dealing with someone powerful enough to lure us into a trap without us noticing… Even though this trap was set up in advance, it’s still quite a terrifying notion…” An Lin sighed.
“Is it the Heavenly Sea God?” Lan Xiaoni was getting a little scared now.
An Lin replied, “The Heavenly Sea God has never appeared in this world, but that does not mean it can’t use its power to influence the Tai Chu Continent. If it wants to get to us, it would just have to set up a passageway and make us enter its territory.”
“If you know all that, then why did you decide to come here?”
An ethereal voice tinged with a hint of confusion sounded within the darkness.
Lan Xiaoni’s heart thumped violently upon hearing this voice, and she involuntarily sidled up closer to An Lin.
“I’m here for answers,” An Lin replied with a calm expression.
A bright blue ball of light erupted from below.
It blossomed like a lotus before extending into infinity and beyond in the darkness, transforming the darkness into a boundless ocean glowing with blue light.
Boundless, spectacular, majestic.
This was An Lin’s first impression of this ocean.
Countless golden crystals appeared within the ocean, emanating energy fluctuations that struck fear into even An Lin’s heart.
A blue, water human appeared at the center of the ocean. It had no facial features, as if it were an incomplete statue, but its proportions were quite accurate, and its body was very smooth and aesthetic.

“An Lin, Lan Xiaoni, we meet again. I am the Heavenly Sea God.”
An Lin and Lan Xiaoni had met the Heavenly Sea God once in a mystic realm outside of the Tai Chu Continent. At that time, it was still quite rigid and mechanical with nowhere near as much humanized traits as it had now.
“Hello, Heavenly Sea God.” An Lin smiled.
Lan Xiaoni was a little scared. “He… hello…”
She was not only scared of the Heavenly Sea God’s power, but also because she had taken the Heavenly Sea God’s power of water, but she did not try to complete the mission assigned to her and was instead using it to combat the Heavenly Human Tribe…
An Lin had gone even further. He took the Starfire Battleship the Heavenly Sea God had offered to him before using it to bombard the Heavenly Human Tribe. Furthermore, he had also just slain the Heavenly Sea God’s most powerful subordinates.
In the face of this friendly water human, it was almost as if they were the bad guys.
“Why have you come here? Are you not afraid that I’ll kill you?” the Heavenly Sea God asked.
One golden crystal after another cracked open behind it, revealing the liquid within. Extreme energy fluctuations erupted forth, and An Lin knew that just a single drop of this liquid was capable of unleashing a power that far exceeded the Dao Integration Stage.
Alright, it looks like this water human isn’t all that friendly after all.
Lan Xiaoni was grumbling internally. Do you think we want to come here? We’re just trying to investigate why this massive hole appeared on the West Sea! We don’t want to see you!
An Lin immediately waved his hands with a friendly expression on his face. “Don’t be rash, brother! I knew I did some wrong things in the past, but that was all in self-defense! They wanted to kill me, so I retaliated and accidentally killed them!”
The Heavenly Sea God remained silent.
Lan Xiaoni swallowed before chiming in in a feeble voice, “Me too…”
The Heavenly Sea God: “…”
“If that’s all you’re here to say, then there’s no need for this conversation to go any further…” The Heavenly Sea God waved a hand through the water and countless golden crystals cracked open at once. Boundless liquid floated within the ocean as if they were dazzling, shimmering stars, creating an extremely spectacular sight.
“Brother Sea! Calm down!” An Lin yelled, “I’m actually here to ask you a question.”
“What is it?” The Heavenly Sea God raised his head to look at An Lin.
“I want to ask you why you thought I was one of you back when we first met,” An Lin replied.
This question had been sitting on his chest for a long time. Back then, he didn’t even possess any powers of the Heavenly Gods, so how was the Heavenly Sea God able to identify him as one of their own?
The Heavenly Sea God’s hand shuddered slightly before he fell silent.
“When I met you for the first time, I thought you were aware of your own identity. Perhaps the Purple Star incident made you incomplete and therefore eradicated your memories…” The Heavenly Sea God sighed. “The other paramount Heavenly Gods may not recognize you, but I do because we’re best friends…”
An Lin’s heart jolted upon hearing this. Who the f*ck is your best friend?
“Then… who am I?” An Lin asked.
The Heavenly Sea God floated over to An Lin. “You are the Heavenly Darkness God. You control the paramount power of darkness and can engulf all things, as well as restart all things…”
An Lin stood rooted to the spot upon hearing this. Even though he was already mentally prepared for a response like this, he was still stunned to hear everything confirmed by the Heavenly Sea God.
So I really am Darkness…

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Conquest of Avalon
Revenge. The Kingdom of Avalon swept across the Empire of the Fox a generation past, conquering the heartlands and leaving the broken remnants to stew in the island duchy of Guerron. This isn't a story of Good versus Evil, of kindly kings doing their best to lift all subjects, or of unvarnished heroes doing battle against evil. Instead, this story is about power: who has it, who wants it, and what people will do to obtain it. It is about the violence inherent in the imperial project and how even the most well-intentioned rulers and conquerors are, still, engaging in systemic violence against those conquered and defeated. Our three point-of-view characters are a peasant turned fire wizard, an excitable duelist with more enthusiasm than sense, and a scheming mage-priestess bent on reclaiming her family's birthright and waging war on the foreign oppressors who rule her home... no matter the cost in blood or treasure.
