《I Will Slay Everything》Chapter 11

After Wei Xiaodan lost consciousness, he suddenly fell into a world unbeknownst to him.
The whole world was like a galaxy itself. He could see his body floating, but his mind was motionless. Not wearing a single speck of what one could call expression.
His cold eyes scanned his vicinity, before long he opened his mouth to ask into the void, "Where am I?"
Confusion, and other emotions were under his head. But his actions didn't seemed to be in panic outside. Instead, he was like a tyrant king. Floating with his body, while his eyes are glooming in icy cold.
When he tried to speak again, no voice came out. But instead, a memory suddenly crystalized in front of him as a wide length stretched white light materialized before his eyes, and played a part of his memory that he hated the most.
It was when, his whole family was murdered in front of his very own eyes.
Wei Xiaodan roared out into the void, but still no voice came out. It was as if, he doesn't even have the ability to speak in the first place.
The time flow was different in the world he was locked on. A second to him was like an eternity. Wei Xiaodan wanted to run away from the nightmare of watching his family dies over and over again in front of him, but his body didn't respond to what he wanted. Even closing his eyes were futile.
Tears began forming in the corner of his eyes, but his eyes were still motionless gleaming in dangerous hue. His thrist for vengeance grew even more as more eternity passes by at the blink of eye.
And when he woke up in reality, Wei Xiaodan immediately stood up as soon as he regained his consciousness. His eyes were filled with horror. Didn't he died just earlier? Then how the hell he was able to wake up, only to find himself resting upon a soft large bed.

Wei Xiaodan touched every part of his body, and when he realized that all his burnt skin were now back to normal, he finally had a grasp of what happened.
"So I'm in a heaven now!?" Wei Xiaodan cried out as he kept staring at both of his palms. His legs were shaking inconsiderably.
If he's not on heaven, then why is he resting upon a white large bed right now? It was soft as hell that Wei Xiaodan even laid down his head to rest, and stared at the ceiling, his eyes were full of regret.
"Dumbass, you're not in heaven yet. Did you just forget that this is hell? Calling this heaven, would make the demonic beings roared up anger did you know?" A voice no longer a stranger to Wei Xiaodan echoed to his side. Accompanied with the approaching steps, Mevis was wearing a well black pair of suits like those agents from movies and walking towards him holding a cup of coffee on his other hand.
Wei Xiaodan narrowed his eyes to a slit before glaring towards Mevis, and replied, "Wouldn't you at least let me dream that I'm in heaven? I really thought I'm really in heaven just a few minutes ago yet you dare to ruin such a thing. In the first place, it's your fault that I'm in here right now. Shouldn't you at least take responsibility, huh!?"
Mevis cackled under his breath as if he found this scene quite amusing.
"Well, if I didn't saved you back there, you would have died, didn't you know?"
Wei Xiaodan snorted, "Dying would be better than being trapped here. Would you find a person willingly be locked in an asylum? If you can find one, might as well commit suicide then."

Mevis let out a fit of laughter while clapping his hands, "Interesting, would you look at this. Then does this mean that you're already ready to forget about your vengeance and just live in peace while your families cries were roaring under your shoulders?"
Wei Xiaodan almost pounced at Mevis at that moment. Good thing he had quite strong self restraint, or else he would have really pounced at him and probably got himself killed by now.
Wei Xiaodan recalled the dream he just had while thinking that it's probably Mevis doing, and asked while minding his manners, "Were you the one who let me watched my family's tragic death millions of times while I was asleep?". He couldn't stop his brows from furrowing as it almost formed a glare.
"What do you mean?" Mevis tilted his head to the side and said.
"Don't dumb your way out of this question. While I was knocked out, without consciousness, I've seen my family's tragic death repeats in front of my eyes a million times, and I couldn't even close my eyes nor block my ears." Wei Xiaodan said through gritted teeth. Of course, he didn't dare tell him the whole story about what he had seen. After all, there's also a possibility that Mevis wasn't the one who's responsible for what he's trying to accuse him right now.
"See the death of your family? Dumb my way out? It seemed like you're really starting to lose it after experiencing a life and death situation. Why don't you get a doctor to check your head or something? Maybe a devil worm has possessed your head and is possibly transmitting out, other worldly scenes in your head right now." Mevis said as he curled up his lips. His face has a wide smile, full of mockery.
"Were there even doctors here in hell in the very first place?" Wei Xiaodan asked seriously, with a dumb face. It almost made Mevis somewhat speechless.
Shortly afterwards, Mevis sneered and said, "Unlike the uncivilized planet of yours, our's are too advanced. We don't need to rely on technology because naturally, each of us got our own healing capabilities from birth. And when it comes to a wound or arms that doesn't regenerate anymore, we've got lots of demonic beings who could use healing magic, so what's there to worry about?"

Campaign: A Project Starfarer Sidestory
This novel’s lore, story and characters are entirely fictitious. Certain long-standing countries, institutions, organizations, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but their histories and the characters involved are wholly imaginary. "What will you do with your freedom?"Growing up in a meritocracy, infamous for being lawless, Jordan Astros had been repeatedly asked this question, since times unmemorable. In a society where one's accomplishments and skills were tallied and ranked in order to determine one's standard of living however, Jordan quickly grew to understand that 'freedom,' was a reward earned by accumulating Merit. And so, after his 17th birthday, Jordan departed his Clan's habitat in orbit of Europa to embark on his century-long journey to rise from E-Ranker to S-Rank. And spread his name throughout the Galilean Powers. *** Campaign is a sidestory within its NanoPunk parent series, Project Starfarer. (Yet to be published. Be on the lookout for it!) In which the first transhuman known to humanity, the Starfarer, invokes a plan to seed terrestrial life throughout the galaxy. Campaign takes place around the middle of that timeline and explores the life of a key figure in that universe, Jordan Astros. And explores one of four great nations thriving in the Solar System during that time. A Meritocracy that spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers. What you'll find in Campaign: Brutal melee combat in airless and pressurized low gravity environments. A technology based progression system influenced by merit and accomplishments; using tech that's theoretically possible to exist in the near-future. An exploratory perspective of the dozens of Galilean societies, or 'Powers,' from Jordans; and sometimes others', POV. What you wont find: Romance. Harems. An MC who receives shortcuts, handouts, learns things unnaturally fast or has OP plot armor. Jordan is not a special individual. Jordan is not OP and he likely never will be. He's no different than any other citizen in the Galilean Powers and will certainly face as many defeats as he does wins. He'll suffer losses and grow as an individual, while the Powers evolves around him as well. This is semi-hard sci-fi/NanoPunk and takes place in a fictional version of our future solar system. Centered around technology that's plausible in the near-centuries to come. Everything abides by the laws of physics/thermodynamics (As best that I understand them, at least. I'm no scientist.) No artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, teleportation, FTL, or hand-wavy materials will be found in the Project Starfarer universe. Just advanced automation, nanotechnology, cybernetics and AI. Set in the backdrop of space. *I do not own the photo used for the cover*
