spencer was now back to work and teaching while you were getting ready for graduation. you and spencer has been spending a lot of time together and you were spending a lot of time with the team as well.
you were currently in class, your phone buzzed, you looked down to see a emily's number pop up. you quickly got up and walked out of the class quietly and walked out into the hallway to answer it.
"hey emily what's up" you asked slightly worried because she rarely ever called you. "hey y/n your dad is here and we need you help down here at the bau pronto" she says before hanging leaving you confused.
you quickly walked back into the classroom and quietly packed up your things before walking out again. you had quickly walked out of the building and walked straight to you car, you got in, threw your bags in the passenger seat and pulled out of the school parking lot.
after a twenty minute drive you quickly walked up to the doors of the fbi headquarters where spencer was waiting for you. when you got to him he grabbed your hand and led you into the elevator without saying a word.
after the short elevator ride you both walked through the glass doors into the bau, spencer led you into the bau where you saw your dad and your little brother.

you immediately froze at the sight of them, you didn't think emily was serious and that all of this was a joke.
"ok so what the hell is going on here" you ask feeling a wave of emotions pass over you.
"scratch is coming for you" your dad says
"who the hell is scratch" you ask looking around at everyone feeling anxiousness quickly being replaced with confusion and annoyance

"scratch is a serial we've been tracking for the last two years, he's the reason we've been keeping tabs on you" emily says
"how have you been" you trail off and look at spencer who has a guilty look on his face "oh" you say quietly feeling sadness and anger wash over you "so that's what all of this was about" you say pointing your finger between you and spencer.
"it was never like that y/n" spencer says quietly
" then what the hell was it spencer, why the fuck didn't you tell me. you kept this away from me for almost a whole year and i'm hearing this not from you but from my dad" you say in complete disbelief. " you know what spencer" you say taking off the promise ring he gave you "keep it because if i remember correctly your exact words were, "i spencer reid promise to never hurt you, leave you, or break your heart because i want it to be me and you forever, if only you want it" you put the ring in his hand and he looks at you with tears in his eyes "i'm pretty fucking hurt and heartbroken right now so i guess this promise is broken" you say looking up at him feeling a tear fall from your eye.
"y/n we'll have some protective details sent to your house" emily says looking at you with a sad expression on her face.
you thank emily before walking out of the room, you skip on the elevator and walk down the stairs and out of the fbi building and get into your car before letting out heart wrenching sob.
spencer's pov
"you ok spence" i hear jj ask, i look up at her my tears blurring my vision.
"she was the first girl i loved since maeve" i said feeling the tears fall down my face as i look back down at the ring in my hand. "i was going to tell her i loved her but he just popped up and ... and i missed my chance and now it's all blown up in my face" my voice wavered as i talked.

"reid we'll make sure she's safe, just giver her some space right now" matt says trying to comfort me.
"ok" was all i said before i walked out of the room.
y/n's pov
you walked into your apartment with heavy eyes, you set your bags down on your counter and walk into your room. your flopped down on your bed and let out another sob as you hugged your pillow.

a quickly little backstory being y/n's father, he adopted her when she was two before he even met hailey which is why i added him and also people wanted him to be her dad so i delivered.
