"Give. Her. Back. " growled Naruto as he started to form various handseals. A shuriken-like chakra formed in his palm as he jumped directly towards Orochimaru.
"Rasen:Shuriken!" yelled Naruto as he hit Orochimaru. However, Orochimaru's body evaporated into the air. The attack didn't work on him.
"You do realize I am nothing but an illusion, Naruto-kun..." said Orochimaru as his voice echoed throughout the forest.
"Then come out and fight with me properly!" shouted Naruto with a frown.
"I'll be at Mount Oe waiting, don't worry your daughter is in good hands..." said Orochimaru as his voice slowly dispersed in the air.
"Wait! Orochimaru!" shouted Naruto as he tried to chase after but failed.

Back at the camp, Inojin and Sarada returned and were informed about Himawari's dissapearence. They sat in worry as they waited for the Hokage to return.
"I can't stand anymore! Let's go find Himawari ourselves!" said Boruto in anger as he grew impatient.
"And later, you're gonna get lost yourself. Idiot." said Sarada.
"What was that dattebasa?! Then what about you huh?!"
"Like I said, we must wait until Hokage-sama returns! Its too dangerous!"
Suddenly, there was a rustle among the trees. It was the Hokage who returned with a serious, angry face.
"Tou-chan! Where's Hima-chan dattebasa!?" shouted Boruto as he went to his father.
"Is she safe Hokage-sama?" asked Inojin.
"But from the look of your face..." said Sarada.
"Everyone. This is your first mission on this trip. We are going to rescue Himawari!"
"But Hokage-sama, we don't even know how to fight yet!" said Inojin, flustered.
"Don't worry dattebayo, I've got a plan." said Naruto as he smiled.

Somewhere near the border of the hidden waterfalls village, there is a tall mountain hidden among the trees. Inside a hollow cave was a young girl sleeping soundly on the floor, she was Himawari. She was put under a sleeping jutsu by Orochimaru's servants and cannot wake up until it is released by the caster.

"Indeed, the Uzumaki-Hyuuga breed seems very interesting." said Orochimaru as he looked at Himawari.
"Orochimaru-sama, how long are you intending to keep her?" said one of his disciples.
"She's still young. We'll need to wait until she grows a bit and then, we can start the experiments."
"What about the young Uzumaki boy?"
"I have a feeling that one is going to be troublesome. Now then, I suppose its time to have a little warm-up." said Orochimaru as he slowly walked outside of the cave. He could immediately sense Naruto and other chakra coming towards him.
"What do you suppose I'll do?" asked the disciple.
"You should return back, I'm just here to have a little fun."
"Understood." said the disciple as he vanished.

Naruto and the others jumped around the branches as they slowly reached Mount Oe. The kids were slow as they were still new to going about in the wild forest. They were formed into two teams. Boruto, Sarada and Inojin as a team and Naruto, Shikadai and ChoCho as another.
"Yosh! I see the mountain already, tou-chan!" said Boruto.
"Then, let's begin." said Naruto as he formed handseals.
Boruto's team then went into another direction, reaching the back of Mount Oe.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" shouted Naruto as five clones appeared before him. Two of his went to Boruto's side while the other three climbed the mountain.
"Shikadai, Chocho do as planned alright?" asked Naruto as he went up the mountain.
"Yes, Hokage-sama." replied the two of them as they stayed below the mountain, hiding.

On the other side of the mountain, the three children were busy doing something. They were placing bomb markers at the side and set traps nearby.
"This is pretty much the least we could do dattebasa!" shouted Boruto as he quickly placed all the markers.

"Place them properly Boruto or else, things will go wrong!" shouted Sarada.
"As long as it blows up, it should be fine right?" asked Inojin.
~X~
Naruto and his clones reached the top of the mountain only to be stopped by an arrow of kunais.
"Y'know, the same tactic won't work Orochimaru!" shouted Naruto as he threw a kunai towards the south direction. Instead, there was a pop sound. He hit a clone.
"Let's have a little fun shall we?" said Orochimaru as he appeared in front of Naruto, forming handseals.
"Where's my daughter!?" growled Naruto as he formed a ball of chakra in his hand.
"Katon: Gokaryu no Jutsu!" shouted Orochimaru as flames came sprouting from his mouth.
Naruto dodged the attack as he dashed forward with his rasengan. He hit Orochimaru but then, his body vanished into thin air only to suddenly appear behind Naruto.
"Shit!" said Naruto as he could see a huge smoke fogging his view. It was then, he built another rasengan and aimed for the ground. This allow the smoke to disperse however, Orochimaru attacked him with a water jutsu.
On top of Mount Oe was a fierce battle that shook the earth. But due to the strong force, the little hostage was free from her sleeping spell.
"T...Tou-chan?" mumbled Himawari as she woke up to the dark cave.

I wish to improve my writing, and this story would be the first novel i've ever written... Updates will be posted very erratically. If you will rate this story less than 3 stars, please do leave a review so I will know what the problem was in the story. Cover art is not mine and I found it here. If the artist wants it taken down, I shall comply. Hiatus until summer kicks in. It's a bit of a mess right now. Also, please check out my other fiction, Alice in Magicland. AIML will be active since it's much easier to write than this novel.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
