《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 21

You decided to go with the flow while you ate breakfast with your parents. You got up to change into your uniform but it wasn't there. Your closet seemed different. It was filled with more pretty and cute clothes that you had not seen before. You saw the lady walked past your room.
"Umm...where's my school uniform?"
She giggled and you wondered what was so funny about your question.
"You are a college student, (Y/N). You graduated long time ago. Have you not waken up fully yet?"
She giggled more and walked away from your room.
'College?!' you couldn't believe it until you remembered that this was an illusion. You let out a sigh and stared at your clothes.
"What would I wear? I guess I'll just stick to a white shirt and blank pants. Casual won't fail me."
You dragged the clothes and put it on. You stood in front of your mirror and checked yourself out. When you looked at yourself closely, you did realise that you looked a bit older, hair longer and little taller. On the vanity, you saw all sorts of makeup on it. You scratched your head a bit.
"Do I need to put on makeup? I don't really know how... gosh."
You stared at it and shrugged. You decided to just apply some CC cream which was easiest to use and fill in your brows. You stared at the eyeliner and gulped.
"I don't wanna poke my eyes... I'll just spot some pink eye shadow and mascara."
You completed your eye makeup and applied a pink lipstick to match it. You didn't know what to do with your hair.
"Seriously being a college student is a really frustrating."
You decided to straighten your hair so that it looked neat and decided you were done with your outfit for the day.
"Wait a minute. I don't even know which college I'm attending."
Your phone started ringing and you groaned as you reached to pick it up. It was Minji who called you.
[Where are you?! Are you going to leave me alone for the first lecture?]
You gasped and quickly rushed downstairs. The lady was waiting for you with a smile, greeting you off as you wore your shoes. With respect, you bowed at her and left the house.

You stood in the middle of the road and mentally facepalmed yourself as you didn't bring your bag or any of the books that you were supposed to bring. But it would just waste more time since you didn't know what books to bring in the first place.
Now there was a second problem. You have no idea which college you go to.
[Woman! Are you ignoring me?!]
Her voice cleared your thoughts away and your eyes lit up with hope.
[Hehe... Minji I know this may sound weird but umm... which college do we go to again?]
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
You finally reached the college. It was huge as expected. You couldn't believe you actually managed to get into the course that you wanted.
Minji was waiting for you at the entrance to pick you up. You didn't really tell her the details but it seemed like she didn't want to attend the first class alone. She held your hand and pulled you. You let her pull you to wherever she wanted since you knew it was a better idea as you didn't know the way.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
You plopped your head on the table and groaned. You understood why Minji didn't want to attend the class alone. It was way too boring. It was a while two hour lecture where you listen to him blabber out the notes from the slides which you could clearly read on your own.
It was worse than high school but according to Minji, attendance for this class was necessary for grading.
The two of you were now seated in the massive cafeteria of the college. The place was already full even though it was still early. Seemed like students had skipped certain classes and ended up gathering here.
You also learnt that your other two friends were in different courses so it had been a while since all of you actually met up. The surprising fact was that Jimin actually went to study abroad for further education. He had received scholarship as expected.
Minji didn't really judge you when you asked her from the beginning. She didn't also ask why you were asking all of a sudden since you were acting like you had an amnesia or something. Probably because you treated her a cup of coffee that she was craving for.

"I won't be able to do long distance relationship. How do you guys even manage it?"
And it also seemed like you and Jimin were still dating. You didn't know where this was going but you decided to just let it be. After all, it's not like you can figure anything out. You didn't even know if Namjoon existed in the first place...
"Oh..."
Minji tilted her head and hummed in question. You blinked your eyes and shook your head. You smiled your head to tell her it's nothing. Suddenly, you started to worry but then again this is an illusion. You kept reminding yourself.
It just seemed so real that you kept getting caught in it.
Minji got up from her seat and you looked at her, confused. She held up her phone, showing the lock screen.
"Its time for second lecture of the day. Let's go."
You rolled your eyes and groaned, mentally hating the fact that it was time to go through another hell.
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
The two of you walked out of the cafeteria. A brown haired boy, sitting with his group of friends, watched the two of you left the place.
"Why is she here?" he whispered to himself.
"Is something wrong?" One of his friends asked.
He turned to him and shook his head. He drank the last sip of his chocolate chip cookie smoothie and stood up.
"I'm leaving first."
••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••
You couldn't believe you had to end up getting lost in this huge campus. Minji had to stay back with the lecturer for another class while you could skip it. She did tell you the way back to the entrance but the interior just made it confusing and you ended up going in circles.
What made it worse was that the campus was empty as it was class time.
You wanted to call Minji but you knew she was having class and didn't want to disturb her.
"Let's just try going around one more time."
You tried to recall what Minji said and walked in that direction. And it seemed like your luck had ran out because you met the dead end.
You wanted to pull your hair out and scream in frustration. But you would end up just making a fool of yourself so you just mentally cursed yourself for being so bad with directions.
You decided that you should call Minji now since there was no other choice. But seriously, you were having the worst luck for the day as your phone battery died on you. You stared at the blank screen for a while and your lip twitched.
"Seriously?! This is the worst day ever!!"
You kicked the wall and puffed your cheeks.
"Is something wrong?"
You turned around and saw a boy with fluffy brown hair. He had very pretty round eyes and youth in his face although he looked mature at the same time. You felt like you had seen him before but you couldn't figure out where.
He waved his hand before your face, snapping you out of your thoughts. You blinked your eyes and looked at him. He smiled once he knew he had your attention.
"Did you get lost?"
You nodded your head. It was kind of embarrassing for a college student to get lost in her own campus but then again you were not really a student at least for now.
"I'll show you the way."
He grabbed your hand and lead you the way. His grip was firm and it felt like he didn't want you to get lost along the way.
You knew you had seen him but it just didn't click in your head.
Soon the two of you reached the entrance and you thanked him.
"It's okay. Just be careful."
"Okay. Thank you again," you bowed at him, "Umm May I know..." you stood up straight but he was already gone.
"Hmmm..." you scratched your head and shrugged your shoulders. "It's not like I have time for this. I need to figure out what is happening right now and whether I can get out of this illusion."
You turned on your heels and walked down the road that you came in the morning. Once you were out of the view, the boy appeared from behind the pillar.
"I knew it. What were they thinking?"

Tales of Light
These are a collection of short stories following different narratives. It's more like a playground and experimenting with ideas or subjects I don't want to write a complete story about. It's also a place to test my skills as a writer. Think of it as a notebook of un/finished ideas. Feel free to pick and choose which chapters to read. They aren't related unless specifically said otherwise. Just relax, enjoy, and cringe at goofy stories. There may be a timeline of events, or not... who knows?
