《Pied Piper | {K.NJ}》Chapter 22

You headed down the familiar road that you always walked. You stood in front of the house and even rang the bell but there was no answer. The neighbour of that house came out to inform you that there had been no one staying in that house for a long time.
And that was Namjoon's house.
Fear started to build in you but you ignored it.
Feeling disappointed, you headed back to your house. You just wanted to go home and eat the delicious meal your brother would have cooked for you and enjoy the warm cuddle that he would give you. But to your dismay, you were greeted by your parents instead.
You were forgetting this was an illusion. You wanted to get out of this soon. You were starting to hate every single moment that you had been spending.
You washed up and joined your parents for dinner. They were your parents but they seemed distant. Probably because you felt awkward and you didn't feel the warmth that your Brother is able to give you. You lost your appetite, thinking about the possibility that you could have been dreaming all this time. That, this was the reality instead.
'Remember that I love you'
You shook the fear away and mentally reminded yourself that this was not true and that you shouldn't be dwelling on it.
You stood up and left the room without your parents' notice as they were busy having a conversation of their own.
You laid on the bed, trying to figure out what was happening. You knew there had to be a way to remove the curse but first you needed to figure out if there was even a way to go back to reality.
The sky was getting darker and the air was getting cooler. At times like this, you would always hear the beautiful sound of the flute that Namjoon would play. However, there was none and it felt empty.
Everything didn't feel the same. This world that you didn't belong to. You hoped that this would soon be over.

You had arrived at the college only to be informed by Minji that you didn't have class. You were grateful that she actually called you to tell you that she couldn't hang out since she had to accompany her parents somewhere. If not, you would end up wandering around the school like an idiot for hours.
You even gave up your wonderful sleep just so you could arrive on time. To actually realise that you woke up early for nothing really annoyed you. You made sure to memorise the fact that there's no school on Tuesdays.
Since you were already outside, you decided to walk around the neighbourhood in hope to figure out a way to solve everything.
Just down the street, you saw Hoseok's cafe. Your steps quickened and you entered the cafe. Unlike what you expected, you were not greeted by a bundle of sunshine. It was just another waiter who you've never met before. The cafe was exactly the same but different at the same time. It was the same cafe but it was not Hoseok's.

Your thoughts were interrupted by the barista at the counter.
"May I help you?"
"Ah...yes I would like to order."
You took your drink and sat at the window seat. You just stared outside the window as you didn't have anything better to do. Your mind was blank that you didn't even realise someone was standing in front of you.
"Can I sit here?"
You snapped out and looked at the person. It was the boy who helped you yesterday.
"Sure," you told him as you beckoned him to sit down.
He grinned and pulled the chair out as he placed his drink on the table and sat down.
The two of you drank in silence. You didn't know what to say and it was very awkward. It's not your fault. You barely knew him but then he felt familiar. You knew you had seen him somewhere before but it just didn't click in your mind.
"Is something wrong?"
"Hmm?"
"You were staring."
You blushed automatically. You didn't even realised that you were staring him.
"Sorry. It's just that you look really familiar. May I know your na-" your words were cut off when his phone rang.
"I'm sorry. I'll need to answer this call."
"Oh sure. No problem. Take your time."
He excused himself and went elsewhere to take the call, not wanting to disturb the other customers.
You plopped back into your seat and sipped at your drink lazily. Your eyes still travelled outside the windows and you shot up. You placed the drink down and quickly dashed out of the cafe.
You didn't stop, scared that you might end up losing this chance. You reached your hand out and grabbed his arm. You bend down, holding your knee to support yourself as you tried to catch your breath.
He turned around and you looked up. It was really him. Your lips curved up into a huge smile.
"Namjoon."
"Do I know you?"
You froze. Your brain failed to process what he was saying.
"W-what are you saying? It's not funny."
"Excuse me?"
From the look of his face, you knew he wasn't lying. He really couldn't remember or rather he didn't know you at all. He looked at you like he was seeing you for the first time.
You slowly let go of his hand and looked down.
You wondered what went wrong. This wasn't supposed to be this way. You were supposed to be his target. If he couldn't even remember you then how would this proceed.
Suddenly, you felt a pang in your heart which made you gasp. You felt like everything around you was spinning and you wanted to vomit. You could faintly hear Namjoon worriedly asking if you were fine. The pain was unbearable and you ended up fainting.

You woke up in your own room. It was morning. You wondered how long you had passed out and what exactly had happened. But you knew one thing.

To Namjoon, you were a complete stranger.
You ran your hand through your hair and let out a sigh. You read the time and realised that you were going to be late for your class. You quickly got up and reached for your phone to see that you had a missed call from Minji. You decided to call her back.
[Hey, I saw your call.]
[Oh Yeah. I just wanted to tell you that I can't hang out today. Need to accompany my parents.]
This conversation felt very similar to the one you had with her yesterday.
[Dont we have school?]
[No, silly. It's Tuesday. No school on Tuesdays.]
[No... yesterday was Tuesday...Today's Wednesday.]
[What are you talking about? Yesterday was Monday. You even got lost, remember? Looks like you are still half-asleep. Anyways, I gotta go. Chat with you later.]
The two of you greeted goodbyes and hanged up. You still couldn't believe the conversation you just had with her. You looked at your phone and pressed the side button to check the phone screen. You swallowed your saliva thickly.
She was correct. It was Tuesday.
'Then, what was yesterday? A dream or...is there something else to it?' you thought to yourself.
You got out of your bed and decided to figure it out instead of doing nothing in the house. You grabbed your bag and left the house after greeting your parents.
You walked down the street, straight down to Namjoon's house. You rang the bell and there was no answer. Since there was no one coming out, you pushed the gate and it was actually opened. You walked in and knocked on the door. Again, there was no answer. You reached out and held the door knob. You turned it and it opened.
You entered the house and it was empty. Just like the neighbour had told you, there didn't seem like anyone who had lived here for a long time.
'Then, it was a dream?'
You left the house and furrowed your eyebrows as you tried to figure out the situation. You were so into your thoughts that you didn't even realise there was a pole in front of you. Luckily, someone grabbed your hand on pulled you away on time.
You gasped and realised what was about to happen.
"Too much thoughts in your head?"
You turned around and saw the boy with the brown hair.
"Oh... it's you. Thank you again."
He chuckled and shook his head to tell you it's fine.
"Where are you headed to?" He asked, curiosity and interest visible in his voice.
"Umm I don't really know. I was just wandering about."
"Wanna go to the cafe?"
"Cafe?"
He nodded with a huge grin. He held your hand and pulled you along as he headed off. It was the same cafe as yesterday.
He ordered the drinks and handed you yours. You stared at it, surprised. It was the exact drink you ordered yesterday. He looked at you with an eyebrow raised and gestured you to take it. You chuckled shyly and took it.
He smiled once you did and dragged you to the empty seat. It was the window seat, the exact seat you sat yesterday.
You reluctantly sat down and stared at the coffee. You started to ponder if everything was going to repeat. You couldn't bring yourself to stare out of the window. It just felt like the same thing would happen and you might end up meeting Namjoon. The look on his face was not something you wanted to see again.
"Is something wrong?"
"Huh?"
You looked up at the boy. You almost forgot that he was there.
"You seemed to have a painful expression on your face."
"Oh... it's nothing. I was just thinking."
He was about to say something when his phone rang.
You knew it. It was exactly the same as yesterday. He glanced at the caller and then at you. You smiled at him and nodded to tell him to take the call.
"Sorry. I won't take long."
He got up and left.
You just stared at your cup. You didn't dare to look outside of the window. A bell on the door rang as it was opened to inform that new customers were entering.
You let out a sigh and leaned back into your seat. You closed your eyes as you waited for the boy to come back. You didn't want to be rude by leaving without telling him so you decided to sit in a bit more.
"Kitten, you should order your drink."
Your eyes shot open and you looked at the counter.
"Bae, I don't know. Everything just looks so delicious."
Your eyes widened in shock. You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Namjoon was with another girl, probably his girlfriend. He had his arms around her waist and they were giggling and looking at each other with affection.
Your heart fell as you watched them. You didn't like it one bit. You didn't like the fact that he's calling her kitten. You didn't like the fact that they were so close. Simply, you didn't like the fact that Namjoon was with a girl who is not you.
You felt tears were on the verge of falling. You wanted to go there and drag him away from her but you could tell that he didn't know you at all.
You had the same feeling as yesterday. Your heart was beating like crazy and the headache was getting worse. Your eye lids felt heavy and you collapsed onto the floor.

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.

Seeker
The Gods are dead As they bled dry, so did the magic which gave them birth. In the new era of technology, its pathetic remnants must hide in the shadows or be locked away. In the ancient era of magic two beings often stood out: Galileo, an immortal scholar obsessed with knowledge and Angelica, the most loyal servant of the greatest among the now dead Gods. But why are they worthy of mention? Because after millennia of isolation, the two emerge in the new world beyond their reckoning. The entire story is told from the third person, however, each chapter will be told from the perspective of only one of the characters. This will be signified by the first letter of their names after the chapter number to avoid confusion. I submitted this fiction as a [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] as well as a participant in National Novel Writing Month. The original challenge had been to finish this entire faction within the month of November reaching the 55.5k word minimum. This goal had been achieved. I do not own the cover picture

Magus Gravity
This is about a person who is summoned to a world to be a hero and save the human race from the demons, clich stuff, he will then make decisions that affect all of those around him(I think this is original). Also, he will not get all the """"females"""" out there in the other world and make a big harem that symbolizes how woman are treated as objects. Remember that this story is something I would like to read, and frankly most of the royal road stories are too damn lusty and filled with porn. But there will be some romance here and there since people get married and I need to talk about that too, so that is classed as romance right?
