《Something about Alan》Chapter 15

I can't even tell how funny you sounded when you spoke with my dad.
Yeah, it's me.
I am still just wounded that you couldn't identify the tone of a 45-year-old man and a handsome, husky teenage voice.
Exactly which kind of makes everything funnier!
Why? Are you feeling attracted to it?
*laughs*
My dad was laughing the entire time when he said to me about you. He wants to meet you. Isn't that amazing?
Then?
Yeah, my dad is trying to get information from me.
Ok? So what else?
No way! I can't believe he is still on that.
You sound nosy, Jo.
I can hear you mumbling something.
I don't mind telling you. Since you said something about nosy, I just wanted to be frank and point out how nosy you are.
I am just cool 24*7. I guess you are hot.
I meant hot as in hothead.
Yes, you are screaming right now. By the way, if you knew Kesha, why did you ask?
In that case, yes, she is my girlfriend.
She is not. She lives in New York.
Intelligent, stunning, and simply elegant. She is everything you are not!
Mine was better, Jo!
Kesha's parents are involved in a different kind of business.
Smuggling.
Yeah. She doesn't speak much about it. Some say her family is really deep into all sorts of dark business.
Hey! Now don't use that tone on me. I like her as a person. Her family business doesn't matter to me.
Yeah, but she is a cop here. Though there have been many instances where she asked questions from me.
Hahaha. Are you kidding me? Nothing is complicated in my life.
You sound like your friends- mean and judgemental.
Hello?
Is nosy still there?
Actually-
What? You sound happy about it.
Aw! Do you have a crush on me?

Ok ok, Miss grumpy!
We didn't break up. I just didn't inform her I was going back. She was on leave and her phone wasn't reachable. I just feel bad that she might think I never came to visit her to say goodbye.
I did. I think she blocked me, but she isn't that type.
Yeah, I spoke to my friends, but they never for once mentioned her.
"Josephine Muller!" mum called out startling me. I let out a sharp gasp and looked behind. She stood at my bedroom door with her hands on her hip, eyes squinted and lips set into a thin line.
"Yes?" I asked, as if I was all innocent and wasn't just talking to some random boy at midnight.
"It's time! Who are you talking with?"
I realized I was still holding the phone in my ear. On the other side, Alan was giggling.
"Jack?" I answered.
"You put that phone down, young lady, and get to bed!"
I closed my eyes, feeling embarrassed for not ending the call before.
"Jo!" my mom warned, still standing there, not moving. She will not go until I end the call.
Alan was laughing out loud. "Be a good girl and listen to your mom, Jo. May I sing a lullaby?"
"Shut up!"
"What!" Mom asked with her eyes wide.
'Mom, it was not for you! It was for Al — Jack!"
She stepped inside the room. And that's when I ended the call.
Pointing her index finger at me, she said, "If I see you using it again, you are grounded!"
With that, mom walked away, closing the door. I smiled, realizing that this was our first call, and it lasted for a longer time. I wished I could speak with him again, but I didn't want to sound desperate.
I waited and waited for his call, but it never came. I dropped back on my bed, looking at the ceiling, when there was a buzzing sound. Immediately, I took my phone to check the message.
Good night miss grumpy a.ka. nosy a.k.a hothead <3
*Alan smiles*
